La Roche Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser

Hi beauties,

You guys know I LOVE a cleanser, I probably own more cleansers than any other skincare. I’m always on the lookout for one I’ve not tried before and when I was very kindly sent this sample in a care package from Sari @talesofskincare in January.

This came at a perfect time, you all know my skin has been acting up over the past few months so needed something that was gentle, but removed makeup when I wanted it to.

I love this cleanser, it’s brilliant. Easy to rinse off in the shower or to remove with a cloth in the evening. It’s a light lotion texture that’s spreads well so no rubbing on sensitive skin. It’s also fragrance free so excellent for those who don’t want or can’t have fragrance in their skincare.

I struggled to find this, but found it under a different name, Toleriane Caring Wash on various pharmacy websites. I bought a 400ml bottle from http://www.easyparapharmacie.co.uk for £12.92. Caring Wash is for facial use, but I did try it as a shower gel too. My skin was left feeling soft and not stripped at all, so I would take this away with me for a multi use cleanser. A definite repurchase!

Sönd Skin Revitalising Face Serum

Hello beauties,

When my skin was at its most confused, angry, spotty and sensitive I didn’t know where to turn. I had some great advice and products recommendations, one of which was from Sönd Skincare, Revitalising Face Serum.

Sönd Skincare believe that our skin is at its healthiest in an alkaline state, their range of products have a pH of 7.3 which is a bit higher of the neutral pH water has at 7.0.

The introduction of this serum marked a dramatic change in my skin, particularly in terms of the reduction of irritation. The inclusion of Silica and Hyaluronic Acid soothed my skin, making it so much smoother and softer. I didn’t really notice any marked difference in firming necessarily, but to be honest I wasn’t looking for that kind of result.

If you are suffering with irritated, red, dry and skin that’s basically throwing its toys out of the pram I would definitely recommend this. At £42.00 it’s not the cheapest of serums, however I only needed a short course of two months to be completely back to normal. I noticed improvement in redness and dryness within a couple of days, but it took longer to get rid of the irritated little whiteheads that I had.

Revitalising Face Serum is light and non greasy and has a lovely smoothing texture. It didn’t pill under any moisturiser or SPF I used, I was certainly was very happy and grateful for returning my skin back to its normal state. Go to http://www.sondskin.co.uk to find out more.

Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel*

Hi beauties

I have got Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel today, this was very kindly sent to me by the brand before Christmas. I love their Cleansing Balm, in my opinion it is the best emulsifying balm on the market and so affordable, it’s under £20!

Back to the product at hand, Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel is a great formula, it uses glycolic acid as well as enzymes for an easy to use peel that is quick to boot.

The peel is a gel texture that is easy to apply, no grains (which I don’t like to use anymore as I have some broken capillaries) smooth it over your skin and leave on for 5-15 minutes depending on your skin’s tolerance/amount of time you have. I really like that you can leave it on longer for a more intense result.

Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel has the same beautiful fragrance as the gorgeous Cleansing Balm which makes it such a pleasure to use. It makes my skin feel smooth, and looking brighter. No redness or irritation for me afterwards, just lovely feeling smooth clean skin. And who doesn’t want that?? Brilliant value too at £21.00 for 50ml, check it out at http://www.merumaya.com

Liz Earle Limited Edition Lavender and Vetiver Cleanse and Polish

Hi beauties,

Today I have THE best cleanser I have ever tried. It’s my favourite Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but this version is made with Lavender and Vetiver.

The cleanser essentially is the same, still the cocoa butter base, it’s the fragrance that has changed and I have to say it’s the most divine scent I’ve ever smelled! Beautifully calming lavender but with woody Vetiver that gives a fresh and sophisticated edge.

This limited edition is my favourite Liz Earle have done, I have already asked them to add this to the range! I think I might have to buy another one before it disappears into the ether!

Limited Edition Lavender and Vetiver is £21.50 for a 150ml pump bottle with two muslin cloths, available from http://www.lizearle.com

Bentley Organic Skin Blossom Organic Facial Toner

Hi beauties

I have been on a quest to find a decent alcohol free toner since Garnier discontinued the one I used and replaced them all with new toners that had alcohol in. Rude Garnier, bloody rude.

Anyway I was searching online and I have come across Bentley Organic Skin Blossom Organic Facial Toner. The company started soap making, Bentley Organic have created a range of Soil Association certified products for affordable prices.

So onto Skin Blossom, it is a pH balanced toner with Witch Hazel, Glycerin, Aloe, Lavender, Rose Geranium and Ylang Ylang. It smells beautiful and so refreshing! I used it in a spritzer bottle as I prefer that than using cotton wool. A good couple of sprays and you’re done!

Skin Blossom comes in a 150ml bottle which would last me about 6 weeks, I use it morning and evening. I’m usually pretty loyal to a toner, once I have one open I use it until the end. Why I can’t do that with other products is beyond me!! I really enjoyed using this and I’m pleased to say the price is so reasonable at £5.95 a bottle. You can buy from Naturismo, Big Green Smile, My Pure or Bentley Organic direct. A definite repurchase!

Ziaja Açai Berry Antioxidant Face and Neck Serum*

Hi beauties,

Today I have Ziaja Açai Berry Antioxidant Face and Neck Serum. Eva from Love Little Prices on eBay very kindly sent me a package with various products in and this was included.

I tested it at the same time as the Antioxidant Tonic I was sent too, the Face and Neck Serum is for lifting and firming. I found that the serum was lovely for hydration but I didn’t notice any particular difference in lifting or firming of the skin.

The serum has quite a siliconey feel to it, it’s not unpleasant at all, it makes your skin feel smooth and was very good at filling in lines under my eyes which are the bane of my life! This serum did make a difference here.

Ziaja Açai Berry Antioxidant Face and Neck Serum is also great value at £3.46 from Lovelittleprices on EBay. A good starting serum if you are new to skincare but didn’t quite deliver on the lifting and firming aspect.

Timebomb Flashback Night Cream

Hi beauties,

I have been testing out Flashback Night Cream from Time Bomb Co for quite a long time now, longer than I usually test a moisturiser so I feel it’s remiss of me not writing this up before!

If you don’t know about Time Bomb Co, it’s Lulu’s brand created by her with the original John Freida haircare team. Lulu has long been interested in skincare and was finding that existing products were not giving her the results that she wanted as she was getting older. She turned to her friend Gail Federici who worked in the original John Freida company and she started making products for Lulu. When journalists were commenting on how amazing Lulu looked rather than her music Lulu knew she was onto something and Time Bomb Co was born.

Flashback Night Cream is based on the principal of a paraffin wax hand treatment you can get when having a manicure, it leaves your skin so soft and smooth and really locks in moisture to your skin. What I love about Flashback is that the company have used natural oils rather than mineral oil based paraffin (I am sure you are all aware of my hatred of mineral oil!!) The waxy texture comes from Rice Bran Oil, there is also Wheat Germ Oil, Shea Butter, Borage Oil and Hyaluronic acid in the formula. Before I tried it I was concerned that it would be far too heavy for my oily skin, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Flashback Night Cream is deceptively light, you don’t need a lot. I use a small spatula full for my face and neck, once you have warmed it in your hands it spreads so easily. It is packed full of moisture but not once did it break me out, I layered it with serums and oils, it locked those in and in the morning my skin felt plump and beauifully soft, and no greaseball face! I have to say I also adore the fragrance which comes from pure Lavender essential oil, it helps me wind down in the evening and I find it very comforting.

I would definitely repurchase this, it is a fabulous moisturiser and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. Flashback really surprised me, I really didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. For a 50ml size it is £36.00 direct from Time Bomb Co, however it is also stocked by QVCUK so you will probably find a keener price there.
