Bioderma Hydrabio Masque

Hi beauties

I have the Bioderma Hydrabio Masque today, I bought it earlier on in the year but it wasn’t until recently that I started testing it properly.

I was really surprised by this mask, the texture is quite thin and I wondered if it would be hydrating enough. I needed not have worried, this a remarkable mask that I consider an SOS product. Perfect for any time your skin is dry and dehydrated and its so quick to use too!

As the weather has been so much warmer my skin has been far more oily but with the heat and the new fan that I have on the highest setting, my skin has felt drier and tighter so I thought I would give this a try.

After cleansing I popped a layer of this on, it says to leave it on for 10 minutes but in the end I left it on a bit longer. The results are brilliant. The light texture means it sinks in so quickly, it has what I think of as a “skincare smell” not overpowering, slightly fresh and not intrusive.

I love this mask, I think its one of those products that is a quick fix. Not just at this time of year but all year round. I think it would be just as good in the winter time what with central heating. I bought it from easyparapharmacie.co.uk and currently its £7.99.

Paula’s Choice Pore Clarifying Charcoal Gel Mask

Hi beauties,

Today I have the Pore Clarifying Charcoal Gel Mask from Paula’s Choice. I purchased this a few months ago but hadn’t got round to reviewing.

Paula’s Choice is quite a popular brand on social media, they do have good proven ingredients that work such as their AHA and BHA exfoliators, Niacinamide, Vitamin C and Retinol in their Booster serums.

This was a new release so I thought I would try it. I love a mask but I think it’s a category that can be quite hit and miss personally.

The texture is a gel, so easy to spread over your skin, it leaves my skin feeling smoother and softer but not tight. It’s ok, but I really don’t think it’s better than other cheaper masks I have, for example Super Facialist Salicylic Acid Pore Purifying Clay Mask at £9.99. For me, this product does not live up to its £28.00 price tag.

I wouldn’t repurchase this mask, I was quite disappointed with it really. I don’t think it’s worth the money, and didn’t live up to the hype.

MuLondon Lavender Moisturiser

Hi beauties,

In January I received a care package from a very dear friend Elizabeth (my.skinology on Instagram) and included was this moisturiser from MuLondon.

MuLondon was created by Boris and inspired by traditional herbalism, after developing eczema and psoriasis Boris started to research the use of ingredients his mother told him about whilst he was growing up and made natural remedies to his skin difficulties.

I love “natural” products and use a lot of them, my favourite essential oil is Lavender so was really interested in trying this. My skin was very topsy turvy at the time of testing, dry and oily with flakiness and breakouts, I pared back my routine simply to cleansing and moisturising.

Lavender Moisturiser is a Shea Butter base and very rich. You need a TINY amount, warm a small amount between your palms and apply. This is really a multi use product, I’m still using it just not on my face now my skin is back to normal. It makes a fabulous hand and nail treatment, great on any dry and flaky or irritated skin you may have. It’s a very good product to have available to use top to toe.

The fragrance is absolutely divine, I wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s really a concentrated product so while it seems expensive at 50ml for £19.00 I use it frequently and have more than half left which I think is really good going. There is a fragrance free version for you sensitive peeps as well as other versions such as hemp. Go to http://www.mulondon.com to find out more.

Laboratoire SVR Topialyse Baume Lavant

Hi beauties,

A brand I have found some brilliant products from is Laboratoire SVR, Topialyse Baume Lavant.

The Topialyse range is for very dry skins, like the Topialyse Huile Lavante Micellaire I reviewed earlier. The Baume Lavant is a much richer texture and thicker than the oil, I have used this for cleansing my face and body.

Baume Lavant contains Niacinamide and Omegas 3,6,9. It’s a beautiful product to use, it’s fragrance free so great for sensitive skin. It’s been brilliant for helping to clean my skin without stripping and keeping my skin hydrated. Perfect for when I’m having an eczema flare up it’s very soothing and calming.

Baume Lavant is suitable for the whole family, it helps to relieve the itching associated dry skin conditions and keeps your skin hydrated for up to 24 hours.

This will be a repeat purchase for me, I absolutely love it. I bought this 400ml from Feel Unique for £15.00, it is available at discount pharmacy http://www.easyparapharmacie.co.uk for £11.59.

Lime and Lilac Natural Light Facial Oil

Hi beauties,

My name is Lucy and I have an oil addiction, so when my friend Lisa launched her facial oil I placed my order quickly!

Lisa has a similar skin type to me, we are both oily with the occasional breakouts making this oil a great option for me. Lisa thoroughly researched oils that would be appropriate for the oily skin type that wouldn’t overload but still providing anti ageing properties.

Natural Light Face Oil is comprised of many natural oils, Safflower, Watermelon, Prickly Pear, Passionflower, Hemp, Argan, Natural Vitamin E and the beautiful fragrance essential oils of Neroli and Frankincense.

I love this Oil, it’s light and non greasy and I adore the fragrance. It’s beautiful to use and my skin always feels so soft and smooth after I use it. I’ve used it Day and Night, I’ve also layered with serums and moisturisers with no heavy feel or pilling. You need the tiniest amount, I use about 3-6 drops depending on how thirsty my skin is, I generally use more on my neck. A 15ml bottle is £34.50, for me it is able to stand with other brands I love like Decleor and Liz Earle. The packaging is gorgeous too, Lisa uses an amber bottle to keep the ingredients potent. The external packaging is recycled cardboard, that’s environmental friendly as well as pretty.

I would recommend this oil to anyone with oily skin who is also concerned with anti ageing, you wouldn’t go wrong with this.

Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash

Hi beauties,

Another cleanser I have fallen in love with recently is Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash. I first received in a fabulous QVCUK kit and was very interested to test it out.

This is a cream foaming wash, quite a rich texture that emulsifies easily with water. It blitzes through makeup making it great for first and second cleanse. I usually use it in the shower in the morning but I have used it in the traditional hot cloth method.

Being an Elemis product it has a host of Botanical ingredients like Apple, Fig, Pracaxi oil extract which is from an Amazonian tree that helps keep your moisture barrier protected. Gentle Foaming Facial Wash also smells divine, a combination of sweet and bitter orange, lemon, Ylang Ylang and Pettigrain. Slightly floral and woody with a sweet note without being sickly.

I’ve just bought a massive 250ml duo from QVCUK for the bargain price of £32.00, an offer which was to celebrate Elemis 23 years on the channel. The normal size and price is 150ml for £28.00, the supersize 250ml is £40.00.

Natura Siberia Rhodiola Rosea Face Serum

Hi beauties,

Today I have the Natura Siberica Rhodiola Rosea Face Serum, I bought this when I went to London to Whole Foods (I LOVE their health and beauty section!!) at the time my skin was still being a little temperamental (thankfully all back to normal now) and this serum had been on my radar for a while.

Natura Siberica uses wild harvested plants and herbs, it’s certified organic, using natural ingredients sources from Siberia. Rhodiola Rosea Serum helps to relieve dryness and intensively nourishes Skin. It also has SYN-AKE and SYN-COL to regenerate skin cells and helps to stimulate collagen production, Hyaluronic Acid and Bisabolol hydrate, reduce inflammation and calms skin.

This serum is a god send! It really helps to reduce redness and irritation. It’s not oily or greasy and works well underneath moisturiser and makeup. I love this, and have been using it even when my skin was back to normal. It’s not thick or heavy and absorbs quickly. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good for the price, which for a 30ml pump bottle is £11.75. Rhodiola Rosea is a great every day serum as well as an SOS product, the day and Night Cream are on my list to try as well as their Sophora Japonica range for combination and oily skin.

You can get the range at Whole Foods or go direct to http://www.naturasiberica.co.uk they do body and Haircare too and the prices are very reasonable. Looking forward to trying more from the brand.
