Caudalie Vinoperfect Overnight Renewal Cream

Hi beautiful people,

I am a big fan of Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and their Premier Cru Eye Cream, so I was really excited to try Vinoperfect Overnight Renewal Cream.

Like the serum, Overnight Renewal Cream is for treating dark spots and providing radiance to your skin. With their ingredient Viniferine and Papaya for gentle exfoliation I saw results with the serum. It didn’t happen overnight but will consistent use you definitely get results.

So I was really disappointed when I tried Overnight Renewal Cream and it didn’t make any difference to my skin at all. The texture is gorgeous, light, not sticky and it has a beautiful fresh smell and it’s lovely and hydrating. But that’s it I’m afraid, no difference in the texture of my skin or the appearance of dark spots.

I wouldn’t purchase a full size of this, it’s a lovely moisturiser but there are plenty of those around for more affordable prices. For 40ml it’s £32.00 which I think is quite expensive, as for me, it didn’t live up to its promises.

Timebomb Flashback Night Cream

Hi beauties,

I have been testing out Flashback Night Cream from Time Bomb Co for quite a long time now, longer than I usually test a moisturiser so I feel it’s remiss of me not writing this up before!

If you don’t know about Time Bomb Co, it’s Lulu’s brand created by her with the original John Freida haircare team. Lulu has long been interested in skincare and was finding that existing products were not giving her the results that she wanted as she was getting older. She turned to her friend Gail Federici who worked in the original John Freida company and she started making products for Lulu. When journalists were commenting on how amazing Lulu looked rather than her music Lulu knew she was onto something and Time Bomb Co was born.

Flashback Night Cream is based on the principal of a paraffin wax hand treatment you can get when having a manicure, it leaves your skin so soft and smooth and really locks in moisture to your skin. What I love about Flashback is that the company have used natural oils rather than mineral oil based paraffin (I am sure you are all aware of my hatred of mineral oil!!) The waxy texture comes from Rice Bran Oil, there is also Wheat Germ Oil, Shea Butter, Borage Oil and Hyaluronic acid in the formula. Before I tried it I was concerned that it would be far too heavy for my oily skin, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Flashback Night Cream is deceptively light, you don’t need a lot. I use a small spatula full for my face and neck, once you have warmed it in your hands it spreads so easily. It is packed full of moisture but not once did it break me out, I layered it with serums and oils, it locked those in and in the morning my skin felt plump and beauifully soft, and no greaseball face! I have to say I also adore the fragrance which comes from pure Lavender essential oil, it helps me wind down in the evening and I find it very comforting.

I would definitely repurchase this, it is a fabulous moisturiser and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. Flashback really surprised me, I really didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. For a 50ml size it is £36.00 direct from Time Bomb Co, however it is also stocked by QVCUK so you will probably find a keener price there.

Elemis Peptide 4 Night Recovery Cream Oil

Hi beauties,

So today is the turn of Elemis Peptide 4 Night Recovery Cream Oil which I bought as part of a set from QVCUK.

Peptide 4 is an overnight treatment meant to treat the effects of broken sleep. As I’m always waking up during the night and want to look fresher and not so tired in the morning I couldn’t wait to try it.

Elemis claim that Peptide 4 helps to support our circadian rhythms and the skins renewal processes. Your skin will look renewed, restored and have a healthier looking appearance. The test results from the product are rather remarkable:

  • 100% of people agreed they had a well rested and glowing complexion
  • 100% agreed fine lines and wrinkles were improved
  • 99% agreed Skin looked and felt firmer
  • 98% agreed it was the best night treatment

*based on 100 people trialling over a 4 week period.

With those results I thought this sounds perfect for me! Who wouldn’t want to have glowing, firmer skin with a light textured product that doesn’t make your skin feel heavy or greasy like some anti ageing treatments are.

Here’s the bad news: this did absolutely NOTHING for my skin. I used it consistently for 2 weeks every night, which I know doesn’t sound like long but when you are supposed to get a result in one night (based on the presentations on QVCUK) I got fed up waiting for something to happen. I’m so disappointed with Elemis as I usually love their skincare and have used various products for many years. I have kept it, I can’t seem to throw it out, so may give it another go if I can be bothered. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful texture and pleasant fragrance.

Jane Scrivner OO Cream

Hi beauties,

I have Jane Scrivner OO (Over Oil) Cream today, I have been using this for a little while as my friend Nicola1847 (on Instagram) very kindly sent me a very generous sample.

OO Cream is different to many moisturisers I’ve tried before, it is a slightly thicker texture but when you rub it in your hands and apply it to your skin it becomes much finer and sinks in so easily. It contains colloidal oatmeal, Argan Oil, aloe Gel and Vitamin E, to lock in the previous layers of Skincare whether that includes oils or not (I’ve used it both ways) but I love using it in my evening routine as a night cream over facial oil.

Ingredients are: English spring water aqua, oat kernel extract avena sativa (o), aloe vera aloe barbadensis, sun flower helianthus annus (o), shea butter butyrospermum parkii (o), cetearyl alcohol (emollient from coconut)

argan argania spinosa (o), rose hip extract rosa canina (o), white birch betula pendula, glyceryl stearate (Coconut origin emulsifier), calendula calendula officinalis, phenylethyl alcohol natural (ecocert preservative), coco glucosides (coconut and fruit sugar thickening agent) eye bright (euphrasia officinalis), orange citrus aurantium (o), palmarosa cymbopogon martini, rose geranium pelargonium graveolens (o), tocopherol vitamin e, rose absolute rosa centefolia, vanilla vanilla plantifolia, benzoin styrax benzoin, sodium phytate (salt form of the corn derived phytic acid), sodium hydroxide, (alkaliser made by leaching ashes to maintain PH balance of materials) benzyl alcohol (plant derived preservative), *citral *euganol *geraniol *citronellol *farnesol *linalool *limonene *benzyl benzoate *benzyl cinnamate. *naturally occurring components of essential oils.

The fragrance is heavenly, Neroli, Palmarosa, Rose Geranium, Rose Absolute and Vanilla makes for a hypnotic and decadent scent. I adore it, and the best thing about OO Cream is that it lives up to its promises but while leaving your skin matte!

Please forgive scary morning face, this was the next morning after using Intense Oil and OO Cream. My skin is usually a complete greaseball in the mornings regardless of what I use, I was so impressed to see that amazing glow but not a greasy hot mess. I have also used this during the day and it has the same effect, radiant skin with no excess ugly shine.

OO Cream is also fabulous value, it’s £39.00 for a whopping 100ml. You need so very little you would get at least 6 months out of it and that would be using it twice a day. Hydra Floral from Decleor that I love is £41.00 for 50ml so I am sure you can appreciate the value there.

I would like to mention customer service, which is also brilliant. Jane is very active on Instagram, always answering questions and giving advice, nothing is too much trouble. She isn’t pushy at all, you can really tell she loves her job and wants people to get the best out of the products. I love supporting independent companies that show they care for their customers, the personal touch makes me feel so much more special.

You can find Jane’s products on her website

Lacura Caviar Illumination Night Cream

Hi beauties

I have Lacura Caviar Illuminating Night Cream today, Lacura is a brand from budget supermarket Aldi and I have been wanting to try something else after their fabulous Neck Cream.

Caviar Illuminating Night Cream is a rich textured cream, I thought for some reason it would be like Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream but it is definitely a heavier Moisturiser. There is no mineral oil so it’s not greasy or feel stifling on the skin, I find it sinks in easily and you don’t need a lot.

It has a lovely brightening effect, which is subtle. This sits well over all the oils I have and doesn’t pill or rub off (a pet hate of mine!) Caviar Night Cream is very hydrating which I think would work for the majority of skin types.

I’m very impressed with this Night Cream, it’s a pleasure to use, it has a light fresh scent that isn’t overpowering and it really does help to make your skin feel moisturised. And the price is mad at £6.99 for a 50ml pot! It definitely feels more luxurious than the price would suggest. Caviar Illuminating Night Cream is available in store and online at
