Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Mask

Hi beauties

I have Sukin’s Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque today, I do love a mask to get quick results and a pick me up for your skin.

Sukin is an Australian brand that make “natural” products for really affordable prices. I had been wanting to try the brand for a while, they are stocked in Holland and Barrett and Boots but my local stores don’t carry the range. This Super Greens Masque was a choice in a You Beauty Box.

The Masque contains a super greens blend comprising of kale, spirulina and parsley, vitamins and antioxidants to detox the skin. Avocado, Baobab and Rosehip Oils provide hydration that you don’t typically have with a kaolin based clay mask.

Super Greens has a gorgeous soft buttery texture so it’s very easy to spread on your skin. You apply it to wet skin and leave it for 15 minutes. Another thing that is unusual about a clay mask is that it doesn’t set, you don’t experience that tight, uncomfortable feeling that traditional masks give you.

The oils mean it’s very hydrating without being/feeling greasy. I have followed Super Greens with Sukin’s Hydrating Facial Masque (review coming soon) but my oily skin doesn’t really need it as my skin is left feeling soft and comfortable and looking brighter when I have removed it. If you have drier or sensitive skin you may want to follow it up with a moisture mask, but try it first without to see how you get on.

This is a huge thumbs up from me, I really love it. Pleasurable to use, quick and I love the results I get, clearer, brighter soft feeling skin. It is of course so affordable at £11.49 for a 100ml jar that will last for months on end. You can buy from Holland and Barrett and Boots in store and online.

B. Radiant Overnight Mask

Hi beauties

It’s the turn of B. Radiant Overnight Mask today, I got this a while ago in a haul from Superdrug and was interested to try another overnight mask.

It’s a part of Skin Phase 2 which is for your late 30s and says this mask is “Advanced skin perfector that supercharges your skin as you sleep”. Overnight mask has Niacinamide and Panthenol to perfect the skin tone and add moisture to skin. It offers 12 hour hydration, improves skin elasticity and minimises the look of lines and wrinkles. You put this on over your other Skincare, wait ten minutes and then go to bed.

The texture is like a thick, stiff gel, but like nothing you have ever felt before.

It is utterly revolting! I have tried this Mask about 3 times but I simply can’t use it any more. It’s hideous! If the texture wasn’t off-putting enough the mask feels really sticky when you have applied it. My skin didn’t feel that different except greasy the next morning. The smell is quite fresh, but very overpowering.

This is the second or third overnight mask I’ve tried and I haven’t liked any of them. I just don’t think they are for me. If you have very dry skin then perhaps this might be for you, if the texture doesn’t bother you. I have to say mine has already gone in the bin, this is so awful I wouldn’t destash it and give it to my best friend. However, if you do want to try it for yourself, it’s available from Superdrug at £11.99.

Until next time,

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Face Mask

Hi beauty lovers,

I have another product from the fabulous Dr Organic range Virgin Olive Oil Face Mask. This is a clay mask which is deep cleansing and smoothing, as I have oily skin I really enjoy using a clay mask.

The ingredients are: Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Aqua, Kaolin, Calcium carbonate, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) butter, Glycerin, Zinc oxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hectorite, Glyceryl caprylate, Decyl glucoside, Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Ribes nigrum, Parfum, Olea europaea (Olive) leaf extract, Citrus medica limonum (Lemon) peel extract, Vitis vinifera (Grape) leaf extract, Thymus vulgaris leaf extract, Foeniculum vulgare seed extract, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Sodium phytate, Citric acid, Ascorbic acid, Amyl cinnamal, Benzyl salicylate, Geraniol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal.

This mask does set, so if you don’t enjoy that kind of feeling, this isn’t for you. I personally don’t mind as these kind of masks work well for me. It’s also really smoothing, there is no grains so it’s not an exfoliator but my skin feels so smooth and soft afterwards. I really like that it’s a quick mask, you only need 10 minutes. I pop this on and get on with whatever I happen to be doing, it doesn’t drip or crack so you don’t have to sit still waiting for it to dry.

This mask has a lovely fresh green kind of fragrance to it which is enjoyable, I would say it’s more unisex than perhaps some of the other masks from the range (the Rose Otto for example) so I do think this one would be a good one for the guys.

I’m a big fan of the Dr Organic brand, I’ve used various products from the ranges and I haven’t tried anything I haven’t liked. I like the brand ethos and that it is geared to using “natural” ingredients. I know that any brand can state that, it’s not regulated after all but looking at the inci lists for products and the brand doesn’t use mineral oils, phlatates, parabens, SLS, synthetic colours or silicones. They do state the ingredients are accredited and certified organic and the brand hold a Soil Association licence so you can be confident the brand does live up to their organic claims.

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Facial Mask is available at Holland and Barrett, both in store and online, it’s fantastic value at £6.49 for a 125ml size so you have many treatments out of one tube, it would last a good few months. Another winner from Dr Organic!

This Works In Transit Camera Close Up

Hi beauties

I have This Works In Transit Camera Close Up today which I got from a beauty box (forgive me I can’t remember when!) I’ve have been testing this for a while as it’s a bit of a multi tasker.

In Transit is a primer, moisturiser and a mask all in one tube. I thought as it’s a mask this is going to be far too thick for me to use as a moisturiser let alone a primer but I really like this! It’s quite a light cream and you don’t need much and I have used it day and night. I don’t like it as a primer for me but I have oily skin so it doesn’t work to keep away shine which is a major factor in what I look for.

Saying that, I like it as a moistuiser and as a mask so two out of three ain’t bad! In Transit does make a lovely mask, it’s hydrating without being heavy and it spreads over your skin easily. It also smells lovely and I am one who likes fragrance in skincare although I do know that isn’t the case for everyone. I have also layered In Transit with oils and serums underneath and it works well. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue, it leaves a fresh look to your skin so a great pick me up for the morning after the night before!

In Transit Camera Close-up is available from and is £30.00 for 40ml.

Decleor Hydra Floral Intense Hydrating & Plumping Mask

Hi lovelies

I have the Decleor Hydra Floral Ultra Moisturising & Plumping Mask that I bought in the Decleor 4 Piece Day and Night Essentials collection from QVC. I love a good mask and try a lot as I really find them effective in such a short space of time.

The Hydra Floral Mask starts off as a cream texture, you smooth it on over your face until it turns into an oil, you then leave it on your skin for 10 minutes and I like to remove it with a warm cloth afterwards. It is rich in Hyaluronic Acid which visibly plumps and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles, has the gorgeous Neroli fragrance Decleor is so famous for.

The mask is suitable for all skin types and Decleor say you can use this under the eyes. I felt a bit stingy and due to the high level of fragrance I wouldn’t recommend it. Perhaps I applied too much, but I won’t be trying that again! The rest of the face and neck it is perfect for, my neck saw visible results and I have quite deep necklace lines. I only use this occassionally, once a fortnight as I’m more oily but if you do have dry or dehydrated skin use this more often. It’s gorgeous to use and you get fabulous results in such a short time. I haven’t used it as an overnight mask but I am tempted to try that, I don’t see why you couldn’t as it certainly doesn’t have any drying ingredients like a clay mask would.

The Hydra Floral Ultra Moisturising & Plumping Mask is available from at £30.00 for a 50ml size. However, as I said before I got mine in a set from with neroli balm and 2 travel sizes of aromessence neroli for around £34.00 so that collection is well worth buying if you can.

Anubis Effectivity Gold Mask

Hi beauties

I love using a mask, I think it is a great way of jump starting your skin and making a big difference in a short time. This is the second mask from the brand Anubis that I have tried, the first was a peeling mask and this Effectivity Gold Mask is for brightening.

It contains Colloidal Gold, Caviar Extract, Gingko Biloba Extract, Kaolin Clay, Rice Extract, Pearl Powder and Hyaluronic Acid. It is a vivid gold colour, but feels gel like on the skin to brighten and nourish. You are to leave it on for 15-20 minutes. The mask has quite a strong fragrance to it, very floral and slightly heady so if you are sensitive to fragrance I would give this one a miss.

The mask does dry due to the clay but not uncomfortably so, your skin still feels flexible. Your face will look like you’ve gone crazy with the highlighter, I must say I have never known a mask to be this colour before!!

After use your skin is much brighter and with better clarity, skin is more even in tone and feels smooth. Considering there is clay in here you don’t get the tightness that you can experience using that ingredient. You may see golden sparkles after removal which I guess it was helps with brightening, I didn’t actually notice until under direct light.

Unfortunately I don’t have any idea on the price of this, when I went to the website it didn’t have the entire inci listing either which I do find frustrating. It is pleasant to use and I like the results but price is always a consideration for me so I can’t say I would repurchase. I have a 20ml size and although it sounds a small amount, I think you would get at least 5 treatments out of it. You don’t have to apply a thick amount to get a good result.

Skincare Super Duo

 Hello lovely people,

Ok so I have to write about these two fantastic products from an amazing brand called Gatineau. It’s not a brand that is extensively on the high street, it has been at QVCUK for the last 22 years and it has an excellent 80 year heritage. It’s a salon brand and they do independent clinical trials on their products so they are proven to work.

Gatineau have different ranges depending on your skincare concerns, my favourite is the wrinkle fighting Melatogenine. This is a compound the press named “The Miracle molecule” probably because they couldn’t pronounce it! There are various products within this range which you can slot into your existing routine or indeed use the whole collection. One of the wonder products is the Melatogenine Futur Plus Mask.

It is no understatement to say that this is the best mask I have ever tried. You don’t need to use a lot and you can use it in various ways which is what I think, makes it so great. For an express treatment, you can apply a thin layer all over your face (including over the eyelid and right up to the lash line) wait for 10 minutes and then remove. You can apply a thicker layer and leave for a longer period of time, remove or massage in the excess. Another way is applying a small amount over the top of your other products in the evening and sleep with it on. I very often sleep with a wee bit under my eyes (I hate the darkness and lines underneath my eyes) and I don’t find it irritating

The texture is smooth and creamy, as I said before you don’t need to use a lot to get a great result. I tend to be heavy handed with products (a dreadful habit I must get out of!) but I do find a 75ml tube lasts me quite a long time. The result of using the mask is smoothing out of lines and wrinkles, I find they really do look diminished. I was really amazed when I first used it, (due to health reasons I suffer with permanent fatigue and this really shows around my eyes) my eye area looked plumper and moisturised. It leaves your whole face baby soft.

I was extremely lucky recently and was able to buy a 200ml pot with a tube of another famous Gatineau product, their Radiance Enhancing Gommage.

Gatineau have 3 exfoliants, gommage is French for exfoliation. The Radiance Enhancing Gommage is an enzymatic mask which I hadn’t actually tried before. It’s a sticky gel consistency, you smooth a layer over your skin and massage until the texture changes from the gel to a more liquid water-like feeling. It takes a couple of minutes and then rinse it from your skin. It’s so quick and the smell is beautiful, citrussy and uplifting. Your skin is so smooth and clear afterwards and ready for any treatments or your usual routine. I was really impressed with the product, as I have got a couple of broken capillaries I am trying not to use physical exfoliants. My skin felt great and not red in the slightest. In order to get the most benefit of the mask I would definitely use the Gommage first.

These two things I would definitely recommend together, the results really are visible and very impressive.

What are your favourite treatment products? What could you not live without? Leave me a comment about what you think.

Till next time,
