Skin Republic Foot Peel Foot Mask

Hi beauties,

I have a confession to make: I have seriously scabby feet. I mean so scabby I would be totally ashamed to post a picture of them. Think yellow heels….I’ll leave that lovely thought with you.

So I thought I have to do something about them. I struggle using my electric pedi thing, I find to make any difference I have to use it constantly and my back just won’t let me. I had heard of all these foot peels and I wanted to see if they would make a difference to my horrendous trotters.

I chose Skin Republic’s Foot Peel and used it for the hour and a half that was prescribed. It was only near the end of treatment that my feet started to tingle a bit but other than that it was completely painless.

It was after 7 days that I started to notice some peeling, only on the upper side of my foot which is baby soft. This product made no difference on my heels and stubborn skin under my big toe at all. So a complete waste of time.

Luckily I didn’t pay full price for this, it was one of my choices for my Latest in Beauty Box. I certainly wouldn’t be shelling out a tenner to peel the tops of my feet which are perfectly fine. Very disappointed, and I know I have to bite the bullet and go to the salon.

Beauty Kitchen Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask

Hi beauties

Today I have the Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask from Beauty Kitchen.

This has been my go to mask for a few months now, it’s a clay mask you can use from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the time you have.

I usually use it for the longest time, it yields the best results for me. It contains microalgae that deep cleans and detoxes your skin leaving it feeling refreshed, looking clearer and feeling smooth.

5 Minute Miracle Mask has a gorgeous fresh scent to it, and it’s very cooling on the skin. I find it a complete pleasure to use, and I already have another pot for when this jar runs out. Beauty Kitchen support The Seahorse Trust, they donate to the cause to preserve and conserve Seahorses. They are also a certified B Corporation business which means they abide by the corporations guidelines for social and environmental performance with sustainability and transparency.

You can get this fab mask from Beauty Kitchen direct or Holland and Barrett where their products are frequently on offer. A 60ml jar is £14.99, a little goes a long way, I use mine at least weekly and it’s lasted me about 6 months. I still have quite a few more applications to go! Definite value for money and a mask that gives great results.

Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel*

Hi beauties

I have got Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel today, this was very kindly sent to me by the brand before Christmas. I love their Cleansing Balm, in my opinion it is the best emulsifying balm on the market and so affordable, it’s under £20!

Back to the product at hand, Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel is a great formula, it uses glycolic acid as well as enzymes for an easy to use peel that is quick to boot.

The peel is a gel texture that is easy to apply, no grains (which I don’t like to use anymore as I have some broken capillaries) smooth it over your skin and leave on for 5-15 minutes depending on your skin’s tolerance/amount of time you have. I really like that you can leave it on longer for a more intense result.

Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel has the same beautiful fragrance as the gorgeous Cleansing Balm which makes it such a pleasure to use. It makes my skin feel smooth, and looking brighter. No redness or irritation for me afterwards, just lovely feeling smooth clean skin. And who doesn’t want that?? Brilliant value too at £21.00 for 50ml, check it out at

Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Mask

Hi beauties

I have Sukin’s Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque today, I do love a mask to get quick results and a pick me up for your skin.

Sukin is an Australian brand that make “natural” products for really affordable prices. I had been wanting to try the brand for a while, they are stocked in Holland and Barrett and Boots but my local stores don’t carry the range. This Super Greens Masque was a choice in a You Beauty Box.

The Masque contains a super greens blend comprising of kale, spirulina and parsley, vitamins and antioxidants to detox the skin. Avocado, Baobab and Rosehip Oils provide hydration that you don’t typically have with a kaolin based clay mask.

Super Greens has a gorgeous soft buttery texture so it’s very easy to spread on your skin. You apply it to wet skin and leave it for 15 minutes. Another thing that is unusual about a clay mask is that it doesn’t set, you don’t experience that tight, uncomfortable feeling that traditional masks give you.

The oils mean it’s very hydrating without being/feeling greasy. I have followed Super Greens with Sukin’s Hydrating Facial Masque (review coming soon) but my oily skin doesn’t really need it as my skin is left feeling soft and comfortable and looking brighter when I have removed it. If you have drier or sensitive skin you may want to follow it up with a moisture mask, but try it first without to see how you get on.

This is a huge thumbs up from me, I really love it. Pleasurable to use, quick and I love the results I get, clearer, brighter soft feeling skin. It is of course so affordable at £11.49 for a 100ml jar that will last for months on end. You can buy from Holland and Barrett and Boots in store and online.

B. Radiant Overnight Mask

Hi beauties

It’s the turn of B. Radiant Overnight Mask today, I got this a while ago in a haul from Superdrug and was interested to try another overnight mask.

It’s a part of Skin Phase 2 which is for your late 30s and says this mask is “Advanced skin perfector that supercharges your skin as you sleep”. Overnight mask has Niacinamide and Panthenol to perfect the skin tone and add moisture to skin. It offers 12 hour hydration, improves skin elasticity and minimises the look of lines and wrinkles. You put this on over your other Skincare, wait ten minutes and then go to bed.

The texture is like a thick, stiff gel, but like nothing you have ever felt before.

It is utterly revolting! I have tried this Mask about 3 times but I simply can’t use it any more. It’s hideous! If the texture wasn’t off-putting enough the mask feels really sticky when you have applied it. My skin didn’t feel that different except greasy the next morning. The smell is quite fresh, but very overpowering.

This is the second or third overnight mask I’ve tried and I haven’t liked any of them. I just don’t think they are for me. If you have very dry skin then perhaps this might be for you, if the texture doesn’t bother you. I have to say mine has already gone in the bin, this is so awful I wouldn’t destash it and give it to my best friend. However, if you do want to try it for yourself, it’s available from Superdrug at £11.99.

Until next time,

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Face Mask

Hi beauty lovers,

I have another product from the fabulous Dr Organic range Virgin Olive Oil Face Mask. This is a clay mask which is deep cleansing and smoothing, as I have oily skin I really enjoy using a clay mask.

The ingredients are: Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Aqua, Kaolin, Calcium carbonate, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) butter, Glycerin, Zinc oxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hectorite, Glyceryl caprylate, Decyl glucoside, Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Ribes nigrum, Parfum, Olea europaea (Olive) leaf extract, Citrus medica limonum (Lemon) peel extract, Vitis vinifera (Grape) leaf extract, Thymus vulgaris leaf extract, Foeniculum vulgare seed extract, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Sodium phytate, Citric acid, Ascorbic acid, Amyl cinnamal, Benzyl salicylate, Geraniol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal.

This mask does set, so if you don’t enjoy that kind of feeling, this isn’t for you. I personally don’t mind as these kind of masks work well for me. It’s also really smoothing, there is no grains so it’s not an exfoliator but my skin feels so smooth and soft afterwards. I really like that it’s a quick mask, you only need 10 minutes. I pop this on and get on with whatever I happen to be doing, it doesn’t drip or crack so you don’t have to sit still waiting for it to dry.

This mask has a lovely fresh green kind of fragrance to it which is enjoyable, I would say it’s more unisex than perhaps some of the other masks from the range (the Rose Otto for example) so I do think this one would be a good one for the guys.

I’m a big fan of the Dr Organic brand, I’ve used various products from the ranges and I haven’t tried anything I haven’t liked. I like the brand ethos and that it is geared to using “natural” ingredients. I know that any brand can state that, it’s not regulated after all but looking at the inci lists for products and the brand doesn’t use mineral oils, phlatates, parabens, SLS, synthetic colours or silicones. They do state the ingredients are accredited and certified organic and the brand hold a Soil Association licence so you can be confident the brand does live up to their organic claims.

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Facial Mask is available at Holland and Barrett, both in store and online, it’s fantastic value at £6.49 for a 125ml size so you have many treatments out of one tube, it would last a good few months. Another winner from Dr Organic!

Till next time,

This Works In Transit Camera Close Up

Hi beauties

I have This Works In Transit Camera Close Up today which I got from a beauty box (forgive me I can’t remember when!) I’ve have been testing this for a while as it’s a bit of a multi tasker.

In Transit is a primer, moisturiser and a mask all in one tube. I thought as it’s a mask this is going to be far too thick for me to use as a moisturiser let alone a primer but I really like this! It’s quite a light cream and you don’t need much and I have used it day and night. I don’t like it as a primer for me but I have oily skin so it doesn’t work to keep away shine which is a major factor in what I look for.

Saying that, I like it as a moistuiser and as a mask so two out of three ain’t bad! In Transit does make a lovely mask, it’s hydrating without being heavy and it spreads over your skin easily. It also smells lovely and I am one who likes fragrance in skincare although I do know that isn’t the case for everyone. I have also layered In Transit with oils and serums underneath and it works well. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue, it leaves a fresh look to your skin so a great pick me up for the morning after the night before!

In Transit Camera Close-up is available from and is £30.00 for 40ml.
