Collection Speedy Blush Pinch Me

Hi beauties,

I’ve got some makeup today with Collection Speedy Blush in Pinch Me. Creme blushes are a new discovery to me, I was always a little put off them as I thought they wouldn’t stay on my oily skin.

Collection are a British brand established in 1987, providing fashion forward affordable makeup on the high street. In the U.K. their Lasting Perfection Concealer has somewhat of a cult status, it is a favourite of many a blogger and beauty expert!

Speedy Blush was an option of my Latest in Beauty Box and as I hadn’t tried any creme blushes before I thought I would try it. This shade is called Pinch Me which is a beautiful berry shade that gives you a gorgeous flush of colour. I’m really pleased with the effect and how easy it was to apply.

I was also impressed with how long it lasted, it’s survived an evening in a warm kitchen when I went to my sister and brother in law’s for dinner. I had to do a cleanse for me to remove all of it!

Speedy Blush is fabulous value, at £3.99, there are three shades to choose from and they are available from both Boots and Superdrug.

Beauty Pie Box 2

Hi beauties,

Beauty Pie Box 2 is here! I had been looking at their lip colours and so they were included in my order. I chose:

  • Fantatiscolour Liquid Lipstick in Charm Inc
  • Fantasticolour Liquid Lipstick in Winner
  • 3D Shine Liquid Lipstick in Electric Currant
  • 3D Shine Liquid Lipstick in Toasted
  • Lumiboost Spot Brightening Serum

I did think all colours were matte but I had made a mistake and ordered the Shine Liquid Lipsticks. However when I did a swatch I had to use cleanser to take it off so I’m hoping they will be good and long lasting!

Skincare wise, pigmentation is a problem for me so I want to try out the Lumiboost Serum.

My plan at the moment is at £20.00 per month which gives me a shopping allowance of £200.00. To find out more go to http://www.beautypie.com

The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer

Hi beauties,

I am a bit of a primer snob, it’s ok I admit it. Having oily skin that shines through makeup within 20 minutes even when I use a primer means I don’t really rate them, I am still looking for that holy grail one that will actually work.

So when I saw that The Ordinary had bought out a two primers, I thought I would try one, I plumped for the High Adherence Silicone Primer. I suppose it was daft of me to get this one, I don’t overly enjoy the feeling of silicone on my skin, but the price was so affordable I thought I would take a punt.

Boy I really wish I hadn’t!! It is so wet-feeling on the skin, it doesn’t feel like it can dry down to be able to apply makeup on top. I don’t think it is for my skin type, I think potentially this would be better for drier skins. I tried it with my liquid BB Cream and my Bare Minerals Original foundation but the dreaded shine came through just as quickly as without primer – which is so bloody annoying!

I know it’s not a fortune, but it is frustrating. It actually puts me off wearing makeup because of the dreaded shine. I hate having to powder down, it’s the time it takes as well as the potential for your makeup to become cakey, no matter the lightest weight products. So the hunt for a decent primer continues….

AA Beauty Primer 360

Hi beauties

Today I have the AA Beauty Primer 360 Anti Age Skin De-Stress Complex. I still haven’t found my holy grail Primer that is mattifying enough to use with my Ultrasun SPF and makeup but also keep me shine free when I’m just wearing my SPF.

This is another eBay find, and I have to say first off that it isn’t as mattifying as I would like BUT I really like this. Makeup goes on well over the top (I use Bare Minerals Original Foundation and Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream as my bases) it smooths pores and helps fill in the lines under my eyes and it has the most gorgeous subtle shimmer effect.

Ingredients are: Alcohol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Ceteareth-12, Acetylhexapeptide-8, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Faex Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Aesculus Hippocastanum Extract, Caffeine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Biotin, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Zinc Gluconate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis Oil, Perilla Ocymoides Seed Oil, Palm Kernel Glycerides, Squalane, Behenyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Lauryl Alcohol, Myristyl Alcohol, Ceramide NP, Lecithin, Pentylene Glycol, Ornithine HCL, Carnosine, Glycine, Histidine, Lysine, Calcium Gluconate, Magnesium Gluconate, Cupric Chloride, Manganese Chloride, Benzophenone-4, Mica, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Phenoxyethanol, Silica, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, CI 77891, CI 77491.

I think this is possibly the closest to the holy grail that I want as I would definitely repurchase this. At £8.99 for a 30ml tube it’s great value and it ticks the majority of the boxes. I’m a fussy bugger I know, so primers always have a lot to live up to. This AA Beauty Primer is definitely one to try.

Sleek Makeup Rose Gold Blush

Hi beauties,

I have some makeup for a change, it is Sleek Makeup’s blush in Rose Gold. I got this in a blogger beauty box last year, put it in my makeup bag and promptly forgot all about it!! *Rude*.

I hadn’t tried anything from Sleek before as my local stores hadn’t started stocking the range until recently, it was while I was in Boots picking up some medication I saw the stand

Rose gold is one of the hottest colours still, in makeup, clothing, jewellery and so on. This is a powder blush, it actually isn’t as pigmented as it looks in the below swatch, when I was applying it, I found I had to go back to the palette a few times to build it up. But saying that, it means you can have a gentle flush of colour without looking like Aunt Sally.

I chose to wear this on my birthday last month and had lots of compliments on it, it’s a beautiful rosy/peachy shade and I love that it has the highlight kind of mixed in. The sheen you get from this is gorgeous.

I do have one complaint though, and that is the packaging. It’s bloody hard to open, I very nearly lost a nail and you all know how traumatic that would be. It’s difficult to get a grip on the palette and it’s really annoying. I definitely think the brand should rethink the packaging as knowing how hard it is would put me off using it.

It’s a good quality Powder blush and very reasonably priced for around a fiver, so if you want a new blush for spring summer, this would be a lovely option.

Sleek makeUp is available in Boots, Superdrug and online.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Matte

Hi beauties,

I’ve tried Korean BB creams before and I really think they are the best and Precious Mineral Matte BB Cream from Etude House is an absolute belter!

I have to be honest and say I’m not the hugest of fans of Liquid bases, I’m a Mineral girl through and through. Having oily skin I find them greasy and heavy and they slide off my skin. Not so with this BB Cream and in addition to that it leaves a small amount of glow it being the Matte formula.

My favourite element of this is the coverage, my God does it cover well! My pigmentation can be hard to cover and can make my makeup/skin looking muddy. It’s easily buildable if you need that. There is only one layer of my skin below.

I didn’t use any other base in either picture, in the bottom photo I used blush, lipstick and some mattifying powder to set the BB Cream. It’s a gorgeous Silky texture and it’s SPF50 PA +++. I like that it has such a high coverage of both pigment and SPF, I think this would be a good one to wear all year round. I have layered Bare Minerals original foundation over the top and the both work well together.

The shade I chose was Vanilla and it’s the perfect shade for me. I use Fairly Light in Bare Minerals Original and Vanilla in Complexion Rescue. I do like that, but the Etude House has much better coverage and a higher SPF than the Bare Minerals.

I bought mine from eBay where I got it for under £10, Precious Mineral also comes in a more glowy formula but the Matte works perfectly for me.
