L’Occitane Intensive Hand Balm

Hello beauties

Today I have L’occitane 25% Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm, this has been out for a little while and I do like the original Shea butter hand cream, so I had to try it!

Intensive Hand Balm is a richer hand cream than the original, an extra 5% Shea in the formula and it has the same beautiful fragrance of Ylang Ylang. It’s warm and comforting and it’s such a pleasure to use at bedtime to help you relax and wind down.

I like this, but I do have a big gripe, it is VERY greasy. I don’t actually use this hand cream without wearing cotton gloves as you will get residue everywhere! It’s a bit too rich, I certainly couldn’t use this during the day. Yet it’s a great intensive treatment to use at night, the gloves help it sink into your skin.

I don’t think I would repurchase this, it is expensive too at £23.00 for 150ml. I know you don’t need to use much and the standard hand cream does last me a long time, Intensive Hand Balm is just too rich for me.

OPI Pro Spa Moisture Whip Massage Cream

Hello beauties!

I have an offering from OPI today, Pro Spa Moisture Whip Massage Cream. Pro Spa is the new and updated Avoplex range, based on Cupuacu Butter and White Tea. Cupuacu is related to Cacao, it’s used in confectionery similar to white chocolate. It’s low melting point makes it perfect for use on the skin.

The texture of Moisture Whip is so much more thin that I expected, I thought it would be similar to a Cocoa Butter. I find it just as hydrating as a thicker texture, making it easier to use, a tiny dab being all you need!

I bought the 118ml tub which I’ve hardly made a dent in, this is perfect for daytime use. It’s non greasy and has a gorgeous fresh scent that isn’t overpowering. It’s excellent for applying to cuticles as well, I always use hand cream on my nails too, it’s a habit I’ve had for years and I can’t stop even if I tried! This size would last months, even with frequent daily use. I bought mine from eBay for the bargain price of £9.95.

I’m looking forward to trying more from the Pro Spa range, there are various other products such as a scrub, oil and serum. So keep your eyes peeled for other Pro Spa items.

Crabtree and Evelyn Gardner’s Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy

Hi beauties,

You all know I’m addicted to Hand creams so when Crabtree and Evelyn’s Gardeners Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy was a choice in my You Beauty Box I jumped at the chance to have a full size included in my box.

I have actually tried this before and I love it, I just haven’t reviewed it! It’s base is Shea Butter, Macadamia Nut Oil, Glycerin, Chamomile which is so soothing and effective at helping repair rough hands. You don’t need to use a lot for your hands to feel rehydrated. It’s not greasy, if you find it is I would wager you are using too much. I find with Hand creams without Mineral Oil you don’t need to slather loads on to get great results.

The fragrance is so gorgeous, it’s sexy, spicy and completely me. Fresh Green Clover, Lavender, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. It’s quite masculine so would make a great hand cream for the boys. As it’s my kind of scent I would be very selfish and keep it to myself. Luckily my other half doesn’t use hand cream so I don’t have to worry!

Gardeners Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy is available in store and online at Crabtree and Evelyn, and is £18.00 for a huge 100ml tube.

Puriskin Nurse Aid Cream

Hi beauties,

Today I have a great product Puriskin Nurse Aid Cream that I received in May Blogger Beauty Box. I have tried another product from the brand before which was the Puriskin Core Performance Therapy Resurfacing Formula that is great for damaged skin.

This powerful formula is for hands and nails and is so nourishing without being greasy, as I wash my hands a lot I want something that is good for dry skin and that won’t leave a horrible film over my skin. My little finger on my right hand has a little patch of eczema that can flare up when I haven’t been as diligent with the hand cream, when this happened I tested this. It’s also excellent for dry cuticles that can feel painful, it is a light cream with a Coconut and Palm Kernel Oil base, Vitamin E, Panthenol and essential oils of Chamomile, Bitter Orange, Eucalyptus, Spearmint and Lemon.

Nurse Aid Cream is a brilliant hand treatment that really hydrates that I find I can use throughout the day, but I do have a problem with the packaging. It has a tiny hole that dispenses the product, however if you don’t use it for even just a couple of hours the nozzle blocks so the next time you come to use it is will be so tough to try and get the cream out that you have to press the pump down too hard and then product tends to explode out of it. I’ve had it splatter all over my bedroom wall which had to be cleaned up very quickly! I have also ended up with it all over a t shirt which is such a frustrating waste of a great product.

Packaging gripes aside, this really is a fabulous product for very dry and tricky hands. It’s a light cream but extremely nourishing, with a beautiful fragrance. The essential oils give a light herby scent which is lovely, fresh and uplifting. I don’t think it is overly girly, it’s more of a lemon fragrance so pass this onto your chaps if they have badly conditioned hands! It doesn’t take long to notice improvements either and because it is so light you can use it each time you wash as your hands don’t feel greasy and slippery. Puriskin Nurse Aid Cream is available from http://www.puriskinbyvb.com and is £12.99 for 50ml.

Hi beauties,

I subscribed to the You Beauty Box in April thanks to one of the lovely ladies who posted about it in a Facebook group I am part of. It is a fabulous beauty box and you get 5 products, 2 of which you can choose.

This Works Deep Sleep Dream Cream

image

Hi beauties,

This Works Deep Sleep Dream Cream compliments This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray beautifully, I use this as my bedtime hand cream to help me wind down and get ready for bed.

The Dream Cream has the same signature scent of Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert which is so soothing, this is a light cream but extremely hydrating. Containing Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Camelina Oil and UK sourced Crambe Oil these emollients help restore hydration, nourishes your skin and the essential oils makes it a wonderful soporific boost you need at bedtime. You can also use it as a body and foot lotion, I keep it for hands due to the 75ml size.  For a rich hand treatment I use the matching body oil first on hands and cuticles and apply the cream over the top and wear some cotton gloves.

I love essential oils and I am firm believer in aromatherapy, this cream soothes my hands and helps to calm my mind. Lavender is traditionally known as a calming scent, Vetivert is known as “the oil of tranquillity and Camomile is a relaxing scent and also calming for skin. Other oils included are Patchouli which is heady and luxurious and Ho Wood which has a Cinnamon/Camphor type scent that gives the cream a real woody spicy undertone that isn’t overpowering.

This cream is a staple at bedtime, is so wonderful for my skin and my soul. This Works Deep Sleep Dream Cream is available from thisworks.com and is £18.00 for 75ml. I ordered mine in December 2015 and as I only use it once a day is still going strong.
