Ziaja Goat’s Milk Hand and Nail Cream

Hi beauties,

Today sees another hand cream and it’s Ziaja Goats Milk Hand & Nail Cream, I bought this alongside the eye cream must’ve been last year but haven’t got round to reviewing!

This is a lovely light hand cream which is perfect for use throughout the day. It’s non greasy and doesn’t have any mineral oil in so you can put a wee bit on, about the size of a pea and that’s enough for the backs of both hands.

I also use Goats Milk Hand Cream around my cuticles too, I got into the habit of always applying a dot of hand cream into my nails every time I apply it and it definitely helps to keep your cuticles softer.

The scent is really gorgeous, it’s a fresh comforting sort of smell. Don’t worry it doesn’t smell of stinky goat! It’s actually lovely! Obviously if you don’t like fragrance this isn’t for you, but this is great on sensitive skin. It’s soothing and calming and wee bit goes a long way.

Goats Milk Hand Cream is also super affordable, from http://www.ziajaonline.co.uk 80ml is £2.81. A real steal!

L’Occitane Intensive Hand Balm

Hello beauties

Today I have L’occitane 25% Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm, this has been out for a little while and I do like the original Shea butter hand cream, so I had to try it!

Intensive Hand Balm is a richer hand cream than the original, an extra 5% Shea in the formula and it has the same beautiful fragrance of Ylang Ylang. It’s warm and comforting and it’s such a pleasure to use at bedtime to help you relax and wind down.

I like this, but I do have a big gripe, it is VERY greasy. I don’t actually use this hand cream without wearing cotton gloves as you will get residue everywhere! It’s a bit too rich, I certainly couldn’t use this during the day. Yet it’s a great intensive treatment to use at night, the gloves help it sink into your skin.

I don’t think I would repurchase this, it is expensive too at £23.00 for 150ml. I know you don’t need to use much and the standard hand cream does last me a long time, Intensive Hand Balm is just too rich for me.

OPI Pro Spa Moisture Whip Massage Cream

Hello beauties!

I have an offering from OPI today, Pro Spa Moisture Whip Massage Cream. Pro Spa is the new and updated Avoplex range, based on Cupuacu Butter and White Tea. Cupuacu is related to Cacao, it’s used in confectionery similar to white chocolate. It’s low melting point makes it perfect for use on the skin.

The texture of Moisture Whip is so much more thin that I expected, I thought it would be similar to a Cocoa Butter. I find it just as hydrating as a thicker texture, making it easier to use, a tiny dab being all you need!

I bought the 118ml tub which I’ve hardly made a dent in, this is perfect for daytime use. It’s non greasy and has a gorgeous fresh scent that isn’t overpowering. It’s excellent for applying to cuticles as well, I always use hand cream on my nails too, it’s a habit I’ve had for years and I can’t stop even if I tried! This size would last months, even with frequent daily use. I bought mine from eBay for the bargain price of £9.95.

I’m looking forward to trying more from the Pro Spa range, there are various other products such as a scrub, oil and serum. So keep your eyes peeled for other Pro Spa items.

Lotta Skincare Botanical Beauty Balm

Hi beauty lovers,

I have a multi purpose product today by an independent brand, Lotta Skincare. Lotta is made by Charlotte who when starting her degree realised she could no longer afford the high end products she previously bought. As Charlotte studied Chemistry at university, she discovered what kind of chemicals were in conventional skincare, this led to three years making and testing her own products using natural ingredients that were beneficial for skin. Botanical Beauty Balm is one of her products.

Botanical Beauty Balm is multi use, you can use it as a cleanser as well as a moisturising balm for dry skin. I’ve used it as an overnight treatment on body, face and hands and I have to confess I love it!

The balm is Macadamia Seed Oil based with Sweet Almond, Coconut, Sunflower Seed Oils and beeswax. There are essential oils of Clove, Lavendin, Tea Tree and Geranium. It has a gorgeous texture, it is thick so you do have to warm it up by massaging into the skin. Perfect for as an overnight mask, Cuticle Treatment, Lip Balm, foot cream, any dry skin it Botanical Beauty Balm calms and hydrates your skin.

I love it, you only need a small amount as it is concentrated. I think the most surprising thing to me was the price, for 50g is £5.95 (plus shipping) it is SO affordable. You all know how much I love to find fantastic value for money, Lotta Skincare definitely offers that. Charlotte’s Night Owl Facial Oil is an extremely reasonable £15.95 for 45g. Check out her shop on etsy.com.

OPI Avoplex High Intensity Hand and Nail Cream

Hi beauties

I am sure you are all aware how much I love OPI nail polish and swear by Nail Envy and Avoplex Cuticle Oil. Both products have made my nails what they are and kept them in great condition for over 20 years.

I have another product from the Avoplex family, High Intensity Hand and Nail Cream. This is a lovely rich, but not heavy at all, hand cream. It’s very hydrating and I find it very easy to use at any time of the day as it sinks into skin so easily. A pet peeve of mine is trying to rub in hand cream for ages, for me a good hand cream is quick to use so there is no mucking about!

Ingredients list is: Aqua/Water/Eau, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Cetearyl Methicone, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethicone, Tridecyl Salicylate, Triethanolamine, Polysorbate 60, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum/Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol, Limonene, Hydrogenated Avocado Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Potassium Sorbate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Hexylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Lecithin, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract, Linalool, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Alcohol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Oleic Acid, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Geraniol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone.

I have one gripe, no it isn’t ingredients, there is nothing there that worries me too much. It’s the smell. To me it smells like raspberries and I really dislike fruity scents, I am a Floral and spicy kind of girl so I was disappointed when I tried this. Nothing to do with the quality at all, only the fragrance so if you don’t mind a fruity little number you will be fine.

I got mine from QVC in a set with the cuticle oil for £25.00, however it isn’t always in stock. You can get it separately from http://www.amazon.co.uk for £18.50.

Elemis British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter

Hi beauties

I have a gorgeous hand Treatment today from Elemis, British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter. This was a gift from the other half as a little treat, he knows how much I love hand creams and he knew I didn’t have this particular one.

British Botanicals is a beautiful fragrance range within Elemis, I have the shower cream and body lotion so it’s lovely to have the whole collection. The hand cream has a shea butter base, it also contains Sweet Almond Oil, Camelina Seed Oil, Echuim Oil with essential oils of Sweet Orange, Lavender, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Rosemary, Geranium, Thyme and Chamomile. The fragrance is like a country garden and smells absolutely stunning. Quite a strong floral, so if you don’t like floral then this won’t be for you, I also enjoy the herby smell that the Palmarosa, Lavender and Rosemary gives, they bring a lovely freshness to the cream.

British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter is very hydrating, it has a rich feel without the greasy, heavy feeling of a more dense Cream. It sinks into skin very easily leaving your skin feeling so soft and conditioned.

In this kit there is a 20ml travel size and a 100ml full size for £18.00 and it’s available from http://www.qvcuk.com.

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Hand and Nail Cream

Hi beauties,

I have the beautiful Frangipani Monoi Hand & Nail Cream for you today, which is a relatively new product release from British brand Elemis.

This gorgeous hand cream has the same wonderful scent as the very famous Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt which is one of my favourite multi tasking oils, beautifully floral and exotic, I have been wanting a hand cream in this fragrance for so long! This doesn’t disappoint, it is really hydrating without being thick and gloopy. It leaves your skin so soft and smooth and of course you are left with that stunning smell!

The base of the cream is Coconut Oil, Macadamia Oil, Sesame Oil and Shea Butter which of course are all well known for their moisturising properties and as this is an Elemis product there are no mineral oils, parabens or synthetic frangrances. This is something that is important to me as I try not to have these ingredients in products that I use. It’s a light lotion that literally melts into your skin so quickly making it a great option to use all day. You aren’t left with product residue on your skin either so you can get back to whatever you are doing without greasy mitts! Even though it is light, it isn’t one of those creams where you wonder if you put any on, for me this is the best kind of texture as you get good hydration and well conditioned hands without wanting to wash off straight away.

Elemis are also well known for their use of natural ingredients, I adore their shower products as they are fantastic for my dry skin so I can now really indulge with the whole Frangipani experience with shower cream, body cream and now the hand and nail cream. It’s brilliant to moisturise cuticles, I always dot hand cream around my cuticles every time I use hand cream, it’s a habit I can’t stop! This definitely a luxury product but I think it is totally worth it for the fragrance alone, so indulgent and beautiful to use. Frangipani Hand & Nail Cream is available from http://www.elemis.com and is £18.50 for 100ml.
