Beauty Pie Smart Powder Blush

Hi beauties,

Today is the turn of Beauty Pie again with some makeup, their Smart Powder Blush.

I really like powder blush, it suits my oily skin far more than creme formulas and lasts a lot longer. I’ve only been wearing blush since my late twenties, before then I was very pale! I love to have a blush now and have a whole bag of them.

I got three colours of the Smart Powder Blush:

  • Ring My Bell
  • Daydreamer
  • Go Rouge

There isn’t one colour I prefer to be honest, I love them all. They are lightweight and the pigment is brilliant. You don’t need much, a quick sweep of a blusher brush and you are done!

I hope Beauty Pie come up with some more colours as these are gorgeous and super value for money. Members pay £4.03 while non members pay £18.00. Smart Powder Blushes are great quality and last a long time on the face. Go to http://www.beautypie.com to find out more.

Collection Speedy Blush Pinch Me

Hi beauties,

I’ve got some makeup today with Collection Speedy Blush in Pinch Me. Creme blushes are a new discovery to me, I was always a little put off them as I thought they wouldn’t stay on my oily skin.

Collection are a British brand established in 1987, providing fashion forward affordable makeup on the high street. In the U.K. their Lasting Perfection Concealer has somewhat of a cult status, it is a favourite of many a blogger and beauty expert!

Speedy Blush was an option of my Latest in Beauty Box and as I hadn’t tried any creme blushes before I thought I would try it. This shade is called Pinch Me which is a beautiful berry shade that gives you a gorgeous flush of colour. I’m really pleased with the effect and how easy it was to apply.

I was also impressed with how long it lasted, it’s survived an evening in a warm kitchen when I went to my sister and brother in law’s for dinner. I had to do a cleanse for me to remove all of it!

Speedy Blush is fabulous value, at £3.99, there are three shades to choose from and they are available from both Boots and Superdrug.

Sleek Makeup Rose Gold Blush

Hi beauties,

I have some makeup for a change, it is Sleek Makeup’s blush in Rose Gold. I got this in a blogger beauty box last year, put it in my makeup bag and promptly forgot all about it!! *Rude*.

I hadn’t tried anything from Sleek before as my local stores hadn’t started stocking the range until recently, it was while I was in Boots picking up some medication I saw the stand

Rose gold is one of the hottest colours still, in makeup, clothing, jewellery and so on. This is a powder blush, it actually isn’t as pigmented as it looks in the below swatch, when I was applying it, I found I had to go back to the palette a few times to build it up. But saying that, it means you can have a gentle flush of colour without looking like Aunt Sally.

I chose to wear this on my birthday last month and had lots of compliments on it, it’s a beautiful rosy/peachy shade and I love that it has the highlight kind of mixed in. The sheen you get from this is gorgeous.

I do have one complaint though, and that is the packaging. It’s bloody hard to open, I very nearly lost a nail and you all know how traumatic that would be. It’s difficult to get a grip on the palette and it’s really annoying. I definitely think the brand should rethink the packaging as knowing how hard it is would put me off using it.

It’s a good quality Powder blush and very reasonably priced for around a fiver, so if you want a new blush for spring summer, this would be a lovely option.

Sleek makeUp is available in Boots, Superdrug and online.

Laura Geller Ready n Go Palette

image

Hi beauties

I have the gorgeous Laura Geller Get Ready N Go Palette today, and I have had this for a little while. I really like Laura’s makeup, she made one of my favourite powder blushes and I always get compliments when I wear it, it’s such a pretty shade.

image

This palette contains two eyeshadows, a highlighter and a Blush. All are baked, they start off as creams and they are baked for 24 hours. They go on like a powder, but much smoother and they have real staying power.

  1. The eyeshadow duo are honey (the lighter gold/bronze colour) and Sable (the deeper brown shade). They are easy to apply and blend. They are well pigmented too, so a small amount goes a long way!

The highlighter is the famous French vanilla which is Matte. I personally was really disappointed with this aspect as it is hard to see on the skin. I prefer a little sheen to my highlight. I suppose this would come in useful to cancel out any redness on your eyelids as a Primer, but for a highlighter it’s a miss for me.

The last piece in the palette is the gorgeous blush n brighten in Honeysuckle. This is more of a Rose/brown shade, I usually favour pinker colours but this makes a nice change. Honeysuckle has a mixture of 2 shades in it and mixed together makes a bronze/coppery shade that has a sheen to it which I love. I love Laura’s blush n brighten blushes as when they are applied your skin glows. And who doesn’t want that??

This is the full look, the Lipstick I wore is a Clinique colour in Go Fig that I feel works well with the palette, not necessarily the usual colours I go for but I think they are very wearable and flattering. I bought mine from eBay for £15.00 but I am not sure what the full retail price is worth.

The eyeshadow and blush are perfect partners, I don’t think I would use the highlighter much as I don’t feel it particularly adds anything to your skin, I think next on my list will be to try Laura’s Portofino highlighter which has a sheen to it.

Powder Blushers

Hello beauties,

I was asked by one of my lovely readers Val from Valsvoguexo to do a post of on my favourite powder blushes. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, I shall get started now!

Bare Minerals Ready Color Boost The Select Reserve

This was included in a set that my lovely other half bought me for my birthday this year. The palette is comprised of Glee, True and Warmth. Glee is one of Bare Minerals best selling blushers, it is a gorgeous rose pink. True is more of a highlighter and Warmth is for bronzing. As I cannot contour to save my life, I blend them all together! I have been wearing this a lot over the summer to get a bit more colour in my very pale skin.

Superdrug B. Glowing Shimmer Block 196 Blush

I have had this palette for a long time, it is a dupe for Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, which I covet but cannot afford! There are some lovely shimmer shades in here that you can use as eyeshadows which is handy when travelling so you don’t have to take a lot of makeup with you. With all the palettes I have I tend to swirl all the colours together to get a luminous finish. There are light shimmer pinks going through ombre style into a mauve and has a beautiful highlight.

Laura Geller Baked Blush Ethereal Rose/Sateen Subtle Berry

I adore this blush and it is the one I use most frequently, I love the split pan so you get two shades in one compact. You can use just one or both together, I do really like shimmer shades on my cheeks so I do lean towards those. Shades include pink, pinky brown, purple, bronze and gold highlight.

Bare Minerals Ready Color Boost The Adrenaline Rush

Another beautiful palette from Bare Minerals, this isn’t as shimmery as some of my others but all together really warms my skin without looking dirty. This like the Select Reserve I’ve been using over the summer.

Bare Minerals Blush Secret

The only matte blush I own and the last 3 came in a beautiful set with lots of loose eyeshadows that I bought probably about 5 years ago. This is more rose/mauve tone and would be good for every day wear.

Bare Minerals Blush Rosy Topaz

One of my favourites, Rosy Topaz is truly stunning! Warm rose/bronze tone with a gorgeous shimmer it is a stronger colour than most of the others so lovely for evening although I do wear this in a sheerer finish for day time wear in Autumn/Winter.

Bare Minerals Blush Promise

Promise is beautiful for Spring/Summer, this is a pinky/peach perfect for paler skintones. Another with a shimmer so gorgeous in the sunshine, I would say that this one would be good for day or night, it is such a pretty look.

So these are my powder blusher favourites! Thank you to Val for requesting these, I am sorry you have had to wait so long for me to post. I hope you enjoyed it :o)
