SVR Topialyse Baume Intensif

Hi beauties,

I have another Laboratoire SVR product today, Topialyse Baume Intensif.

This is an intensive body lotion for severely dry skin so I knew this one for me. Topialyse is a surprisingly light texture that sinks in easily, contains Omega 3,6,9 and Niacinamide. It soothes your skin quickly stops the god awful itching that you can get with extreme dry skin conditions. Topialyse contains no mineral oil or fragrance so if you are having a sensitive time this would be a great option.

My sister has also been using this, she has got very dry itchy skin after surgery and she has found relief with this. I am thrilled that it helped her as well as it has helped me. Personally this is my budget holy grail lotion, I bought a 400ml bottle months ago and such a little goes a long way. I buy mine from http://www.easyparapharmacie.co.uk for £12.44 for the largest 400ml bottle. A fantastic find that I know will look after my skin all year round, I don’t have to look for an alternative option.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+*

Hello beauties,

Today I have a product from La Roche Posay, Effaclar Duo+ that has been my product of the summer.

Having oily, hormonal spot prone skin I haven’t really found a product that will really help prevents those monthly jawline beasts that crop up and sometimes can be very painful. This product WORKS! With ingredients like Niacinamide (which my skin loves) Lipo Hydroxy Acid and Salicylic Acid that helps to unblock pores and Zinc that helps to reduce sebum.

I had brilliant results with this, Effaclar is a light gel serum texture, layers well under moisturiser and SPF, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. As well as helping with existing breakouts, it helped to prevent new ones. I saw the most dramatic results around my jawline, Effaclar has really balanced my skin.

What I love is that this is a spot treatment yet you don’t have that awful drying side effect you get from most traditional products. It’s much more friendly to skin yet uber effective.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone who is suffering with breakouts, it really does deserve all the hype it gets. A real gem! A 40ml tube is £16.00 so affordable too and you can often find it on promotion online.

Beauty Pie Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser

Hi beauties,

Beauty Pie again! Today it’s the turn of Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser.

This is a thick milky gel/balm that turns into an oil and then emulsifies with water into a milk. I love this kind of formula, it’s amazing at blitzing makeup and grime but doesn’t make your skin squeaky.

Japanfusion Pure Tranforming Cleanser is a definite repurchase and one I would recommend for all skin types. You can use it both for AM and PM cleanses and of course for makeup removal. I love the versatility of it, it is absolutely brilliant. £25 for non members, but members pay just £6.58.

Elemis Pro Collagen Neck and Décolleté Balm

Hi beauties,

I have an absolute stunner of a product today, Elemis Pro Collagen Neck and Décolleté Balm. I received this in the Pro Collagen Blockbuster kit from QVCUK before Christmas, I had my eye on this for quite some time.

I am a huge fan of Elemis, there are so many products that I absolutely adore so had high hopes for this and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Previously Gatineau made my favourite neck cream but for me, Elemis blow Firming throat gel out of the water.

Pro Collagen Neck and Décolleté Balm contains the Padina Pavonica algae that Elemis discovered and first put into the famous Pro Collagen Marine Cream. It’s seriously smoothing due to the Sea Buckthorn Oil, it made my skin feel like silk. Lately I have noticed that my skin on my throat feels a little gritty, this disappeared as soon as I applied this product. The effect on my lines was brilliant, really softened the lines so much I could hardly see them. I am heavy busted and a side sleeper so that does create tree trunk lines.

I apply a pea sized amount twice a day, as I’m a bit addicted to this one! QVCUK generally sell the 40ml sizes, the duo is available for £45.00. The 50ml directly from Elemis is £52.00. Thanks to QVCUK I bought a trio for about £42, so an awesome bargain for a fabulous product.

Garden of Wisdom for Victoria Health Vitamin C 23% and Ferulic Acid Serum

Hi beauties,

I’ve been using the Garden of Wisdom for Victoria Health Vitamin C 23% & Ferulic Acid for a while know and wanted to share my thoughts.

I was really excited to see a really affordable Vitamin C serums, a lot that I see around are quite expensive and as I refuse to buy anything from Deciem anymore I wanted to try this product.

GOW Vitamin C is a lightweight slightly milky formula which I find sinks in easily, they do say on the directions two pumps, however I don’t find it enough (take it to the tits people!) so I use four. I apparently had an old style bottle which literally “spat” the serum out making a lovely mess everywhere. Even when I held it close to my palm there was still a considerable amount that covered the bottle and went crusty. That drove me mad…

Onto the results: unfortunately I didn’t see any benefit to my skin at all. It felt nice on but no better than a good hyaluronic serum I already have and the bottle annoyed me so much I wouldn’t buy it again. While it’s a good idea, it just didn’t work for me. I think next I’m going to try Timeless as I’ve heard great things about the effect that has on pigmentation which is what I definitely need.

Beauty Pie Super Retinol Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream

Hi beauties,

Today I have the Super Retinol Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream from Beauty Pie, I’ve been testing this out for a good few months now so I thought it was about time for a review.

This is a gentle eye cream, and it really packs a punch. An oxymoron you might say, but in my opinions it does exactly that. It contains Retinol micro capsules, Hyaluronic Acid and bioflavonoids to soften lines, moisturise and plump up the eye area.

I find that this is an eye cream which is more of a dry cream. I know that sounds weird, but it’s not a slippery wet texture which if you wear makeup can make mascara collect underneath your eyes. You don’t need a lot, not even half a pump for both eyes. I’ve had mine for months and it’s still going!

I really like this, it’s great to use with and without make up. A good base for concealer too, I like how my lines are softer and there is also brighter effect. For a 15ml size for non members is £65.00 and members pay £6.33. Well worth a try.

Jane Scrivner Skinfoliate*

Hi beauties,

Earlier on in the year I was very lucky to receive a gift parcel from the lovely Jane Scrivner and included was a bottle of Skinfoliate.

Skinfoliate is Jane’s organic AHA and BHA exfoliator, the formula is made up of Malic, Glycolic, Lactic, and Citric Acids to target the skin at different levels. There is also a blend of both AHA and BHA from pineapple, burdock, bilberry, orange, lemon, sugar maple, witchazel, white willow and raw organic apple cider vinegar.

The AHA’s in Skinfoliate target the cells on the upper layers of the skin, working to dissolve the glue that holds them to the surface while the BHA’s target lower levels, to exfoliate the pores which is ideal for oilier skins. This multi acid approach means it will sweep away dead skin cells to refine the texture of your skin, as well as encourage collagen and elastin production.

Skinfoliate is a daily resurfacer, I don’t use it every day as my skin can’t take the use of acids daily. I prefer to use this every other night with the use of a mask on a Sunday, that keeps my skin happy and also lovely and smooth. You can smell the apple cider vinegar but I don’t find it unpleasant at all, in fact I prefer it over some of the chemical smell you can get with acids. Also Skinfoliate comes in a generous 150ml size, I’ve been using it frequently and still have a lot left! Just saturate a cotton pad and apply it to your face, neck and décolleté, as Mrs Hirons says “takeittothetits”! You can find this at http://www.janescrivner.com, a 150ml bottle is £26.00. A big thank you to Jane for sending me this wonderful product to try, another product from the range that is fantastic and a joy to use.

Till next time,
