Derma E Even Tone Brightening Cleanser

Hi beauties,

I gave a great cleanser from Derma E to tell you about today, that was very kindly sent to me by my friend Dede (dedez_beautynstuff on instagram) after she learned I had wanted to try the brand for a while.

Even Tone Brightening Cleanser a pH balanced cleanser with Niacinamide, Panthenol, Glycolic Acid, Licorice, Vitamin C Ester, Bearberry Extract, Madonna Lily Extract, Green Tea and Vitamin A. It feels mild on your skin with no discernible smell. I use about the size of 5 pence piece and it lathers well with a wee bit of water.

This cleanser makes my skin feel smoother and doesn’t at all strip my skin. There is no SLS or chemical detergent agents which is what I look for in a foaming cleanser.

Although this is gentle enough to use every day, I use it a few mornings a week. I find I get good results from this frequency, it would also make a good second cleanse so it is versatile. I wouldn’t use this as a makeup remover, either as an AM or as I say a second cleanse PM.

Derma E Even Tone Brightening Cleanser is also very affordable, you can find online for as low as £11.20 and as you need so little a 175ml bottle will last months.

Feather and Down Sleep Butter

Hello beauties,

I adore the Feather and Down Sleep Pillow Spray, it is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I smelled the fragrance I rushed to Boots online to place an order for practically the whole range.

Sleep Butter is so beautiful, it’s a gorgeous texture that melts into your skin. I use it all over and it’s been great for my dry skin. This also makes a fabulous hand treatment with the body oil layered underneath. The smell is divine and really helps me relax. It has a soufflé type of feel to it, and I find it easier to use with a spatula. A little goes a long way too so you don’t need to use half a tub!

Sleep Butter doesn’t contain any mineral oils, it’s Shea Butter based with Cocoa Butter and Sweet Almond Oil and fragranced with Lavender and Chamomile. It’s also good value for money, £8.00 for 300ml. This is a definite repurchase, in fact the whole range is, Sleep I find difficult at the best of times so I’m interested in anything that helps me relax. Available from and

Lotta Skincare Botanical Beauty Balm

Hi beauty lovers,

I have a multi purpose product today by an independent brand, Lotta Skincare. Lotta is made by Charlotte who when starting her degree realised she could no longer afford the high end products she previously bought. As Charlotte studied Chemistry at university, she discovered what kind of chemicals were in conventional skincare, this led to three years making and testing her own products using natural ingredients that were beneficial for skin. Botanical Beauty Balm is one of her products.

Botanical Beauty Balm is multi use, you can use it as a cleanser as well as a moisturising balm for dry skin. I’ve used it as an overnight treatment on body, face and hands and I have to confess I love it!

The balm is Macadamia Seed Oil based with Sweet Almond, Coconut, Sunflower Seed Oils and beeswax. There are essential oils of Clove, Lavendin, Tea Tree and Geranium. It has a gorgeous texture, it is thick so you do have to warm it up by massaging into the skin. Perfect for as an overnight mask, Cuticle Treatment, Lip Balm, foot cream, any dry skin it Botanical Beauty Balm calms and hydrates your skin.

I love it, you only need a small amount as it is concentrated. I think the most surprising thing to me was the price, for 50g is £5.95 (plus shipping) it is SO affordable. You all know how much I love to find fantastic value for money, Lotta Skincare definitely offers that. Charlotte’s Night Owl Facial Oil is an extremely reasonable £15.95 for 45g. Pure Purpose Coffee Body Scrub

Hi beauties

Today sees a body scrub review from natural brand Pure Purpose. They reached out to me and asked if I would like to try their coffee body scrub and facial and give some feedback. As everyone knows I’m obsessed with oils so said yes please!

Pure Purpose is a small family owned business from Kent, I really enjoy trying products from independents. You really get to know the brand on a personal level as often you are dealing with an extremely small team. That and I find that customer service is so much more personal.

So to the product! I have tried a couple of coffee scrubs before and I love ’em! They are so thorough but I find gentle enough for my eczema prone skin as there is Oil binding the formula together. The scrubs don’t contain mineral oil, SLS, phlthalates or parabens. Ingredients are: Coffee seed powder, Sugar, Seaweed powder, Sea Salt, Sweet almond oil, Vitamin E, Eucalyptus essential oil, Grapefruit seed extract and Limonene.

This particular scrub is the Seaweed and Eucalyptus that smells gorgeous, I love the fragrance as its so uplifting. I use a tiny amount for each body part, I don’t rub really hard, but enough to get the product to work. I love how my skin feels afterwards, I’m left feeling so smooth and moisturised, further oils or lotions aren’t needed so this saves time for me. Also, this scrub rinses away so easily from the bottom of the bath (I already have a non-slip mat in my bath so I don’t need to worry), quick blast of the shower and its all gone. Some oil will remain so if you haven’t got a bath mat you probably need to clean it straight away.
Pure Purpose would be my choice of coffee scrub, while I have enjoyed using coffee scrubs before, their fragrances haven’t been my ideal. I don’t like the smell of Coconut and I am not a huge fan of sweet foodie scents so this fragrance is perfect for me. Also the price is incredibly reasonable at £13.50 for 180g. As only a handful is needed each time this would last months. The packaging is re-sealable too and in a waterproof pouch. I don’t store mine in my bathroom as it’s best kept in cool, dark places. Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint

Hi beauties

I haven’t done many nail posts recently and I apart from these I haven’t bought any polishes in months! What is wrong I hear you cry?? I had a bad break and when my nails are super short, I find it really difficult to paint them. I kind of lost my mojo and I couldn’t get enthusiastic about painting my nails. It’s the first time that has happened since I got back into painting 5 years ago.

I digress, I am a big fan of Barry M and when I popped into my local Superdrug they had a 3for2 promotion, I decided to treat myself. These polishes are are the Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint formulation which I have not tried before

Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint in Oasis

Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint in Paradise

Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint in Popsicle.

The first two shades are my favourite, I thought the Popsicle would be but I found it very hard to apply and clean up. Despite the fabulous Cuticle shaped brush, it’s difficult to paint without flooding cuticles, if you do this it is so much more difficult to clean up without leaving residue and it looking obvious. It seems a thinner more runny consistency.

Paradise and Oasis are lovely, slightly easier to paint but this formula has disappointed me to be honest. I’ve yet to try the Sunset Daylight Curing formula so I think I will try that next. Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint are available at Boots, Superdrug and are £4.99 each.

Jane Scrivner Un-Condition Oil

Hi Beauties,

I have another fabulous product from Jane Scrivner today, Un-Condition Oil, which is made using high quality 100% organic Argan Oil and essential oil of Frankincense.

I have reviewed a couple of products from the range Jane Scrivner Intense Oil and Jane Scrivner OO Cream. I really like the simplicity of the range, it is easy to find which products are the best for you on the website but the results you get are far from simple.

Un-Condition Oil is a product that helps improve skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and acne-rosacea. Argan oil is full of essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce for itself, high in Vitamin E and antioxidants. I really enjoy using this oil, just a pump on damp skin (it helps to aid absorption) and that is enough for face and neck. It helped me greatly when I was suffering from an eczema patch on my neck, it is very soothing and calming. The fragrance of course is gorgeous, I love the smell of Frankincense, I find it really comforting.

I find Un-Condition Oil an SOS type product, one that is always useful to have in reserve for those moments when your skin is acting out of sorts. It’s gentle yet very effective but you don’t have to keep it for emergencies. Argan Oil and Frankincense are both anti-ageing ingredients so it is a product you can use all the time. Just get it in your skincare routine and you will see what mean! You can find it at at the great affordable price of £24.00.
