December Latest in Beauty Box

Hi beauties

It’s LIB time!! Yay…!! Love taking the time to pick my choices and the anticipation of them arriving, very exciting stuff. Yes, I really ought to get out more. So this months choices are:

  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In Jingle Red Rock
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In Sleigh All Day
  • Simple Hydrating Booster
  • Bee Good Plump & Firm Moisturiser
  • Collection Speedy Blush In Pinch Me
  • Espa Overnight Hydration Therapy

Heavy on hydration this month but it can’t hurt. For the first time in my life I’m struggling with dryness which I’m finding really bad. The texture of my skin isn’t great either but I’m trying not to go mental and do too much too it.

Anyhoo, I have the 6 product box subscription that costs £15.00 per month, and I think you can easily see the value here. The list of choices on the Latest in Beauty is huge and is updated regularly so as much as I was gutted it was originally changed from You Beauty, I’m keeping this subscription, I’m really pleased with it. Kiko Polishes Browns

Hi beauties

Today I bring you the swatches of the gorgeous brown polishes I bought in my Kiko haul. I love these kind of shades, they all have shimmer to them which I find perfect for autum/winter. I do love my creme polishes, but for me there is something about metalics and shimmers in the autumn sunshine and of course we need a bit of a lift in the cold and darker months.

The top polish is 512 Metallic Rosy Taupe, for me it leans far more towards taupe/brown than it does rose. It does have a very deep almost purple shimmer to it so that’s probably where the name comes from. Beautiful shade, easy to paint and clean up was really easy considering how dark the pigment is.

Second is 371 Gold Rosy Brown, again I don’t know where the “rosy” kind of tone fits into this shade as the main pigment is brown and the shimmer is gold. A fabulous transition shade, but I can see me wearing this at any time. The formula was easy to paint and clean up super easy.

The deepest most vampy shade of all three, 514 Pearly Golden Coffee, I love this one! The depth of the coffee pigment is beautifu and the gold shimmer is amazing. Best seen under daylight to really appreciate the shift in tone. Cleanup was slightly more difficult with this one as darker shades can be, but I was persistent lol.

So there are the browns, keep your eye out for the swatches of the other polishes I picked up.

Manicure of the Day

Hi beauties

It’s Manicure of the Day time again and for this manicure I chose two polishes from Leighton Denny Expert Nails. There is something about the blues that Leighton formulates that I absolutely love!

The metallic shade is called Miss Behavin’, a gorgeous dark, silvery shimmer. I LOVE this polish, I think apart from a red shade, blues are so me. I don’t know why because I have blue-white skin, but I seem to suit many shades of blue.

The cream colour is called Captivated which I must say I had loads of compliments on, this looks more purple underneath the flash, this does change depending on what light you see it in. I think in real life and daylight it leans slightly toward teal, it’s a beautiful deep shade that always gets a lot of attention.

I am a fan of Leighton’s polishes, the formula and pigments are gorgeous and so easy to use, the brush is decent too. Bristles are quite tightly packed together so you don’t get that splaying if you press too hard (that really irritates me!) very good quality. These two are also colours that I love to use all year round because they are a bold pop of colour that can really cheer you up if you are feeling blue….!

Manicure of The Day

Hi beauties,

I have another manicure today, using one of the newer Barry M colours Bronze Bae and OPI Espresso Your Style which is a favourite of mine.

Bronze Bae is part of the metals collection from Barry M and I must say I prefer the bronze and copper to the traditional gold and silver. I think it makes a nice change.

Espresso Your Style goes well as it has that kind of gold-bronzey undertones to it, it’s a rich metallic that I love to wear in Autumn/Winter time. The metallic lifts it and makes it more interesting, personally I don’t think brown cremes quite have the same impact.

Both formulas are lovely to work with, Barry M’s brush is fabulous as it’s Cuticle shaped and really easy to use, there’s hardly any need for cleanup with this type of brush. Wear time is also a good 4 days for me before I get bored and have to change colour.

I really liked this combination, I feel these two colours complement each other well.

Manicure of The Day

Hi beauties

Mani Monday is back! I had a break as there was always some skincare to write about, so manicures had a back seat on the blog and were only featured on my social media pages.

Today I’ve a Leighton Denny manicure, for this I used Steel Appeal, which is a deep, dark charcoal grey and I layered The After Party glitter over the top.

Steel Appeal is more of a shimmer, although it looks really frosty with the flash! It’s got a silver irridescent sheen to it which is gorgeous and sets apart from a black polish.

The After Party is a fabulous glitter, in a shimmery clear-blue base and gold leaf for that luxurious touch. It has different irregularly cut particles, it’s totally different to anything else I have.

Let me know if you want to see more manicures, or if you have any suggestions for a post you would like me to do, I am always open to ideas!

Essie Haul

Hi beauties

I’ve got some Essie polishes that I’ve bought recently, I was recommended them by a friend on Instagram as I haven’t previously tried the brand before.

This first one is Cashmere Bathrobe, a stunning grey with a beautiful gold shimmer in it. I haven’t got another shade like this and I absolutely love it, I know it will go very well with some grey shades I do already have.

This is similar to shades I do have, but it’s a little deeper so not exactly the same. What Damsel in a Dresss does match is the Laura Geller Cabernet Crush lipstick I posted about recently, so if you like matchy matchy there’s an option for you!

This bad boy is the first polish Sari recommended as she knows my love of the blues. This is After School Boy Blazer and is a very deep navy. It looks black in this shot but in real life you can see the blue tones in it. A real keeper!! 💅🏻

I am definitely going to try some more from Essie, the formula was great and easy to apply and the brush is nice and wide, cutting down on the amount of strokes you have to do. I really love that as it makes life a heck of lot easier and makes painting so much quicker.

I buy my polishes from stores on eBay and I paid £4.99 for each polish, I’m on the lookout for some glitters from the brand so if you have some recommendations let me know!
