Lyonsleaf Calendula Cream

Hi beauties,

Another Lyonsleaf product today, their amazing Calendula Cream. I love Calendula and have seen great results with Lyonsleaf Calendula and Zinc (I bought them both at the same time) but my mum has now commandeered this product (“it’s my magic cream!”

However, she’s not getting her mitts on this one! This is a fabulous cream for my dry, tricky, scaly skin. It literally glides on the skin it’s so easy to apply. Lyonsleaf’s formulas are waterless and without emulsifiers so they are very concentrated. I use this cream regularly and it has lasted me many months. The beautiful healing properties of Calendula Cream has been fabulous for me.

The base is made from plant oils, sweet almond, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, Calendula flower extract, borage (starflower) oil and Vitamin E. There are essential oils of Juniper, Lavender, frankincense and Geranium so smells utterly divine, Calendula Cream has been brilliant for me. I’ve been using it on my healing tattoo, I was using a beeswax based balm but I felt that was a bit “draggy” whereas this literally melted into my skin with the TINIEST amount!

A 30ml jar is an super affordable price of £8.99, the product is very economical as it is a concentrated waterless formula. You can get this in 3ml sample size and a super size of 120ml. Suitable for adults and children over the age of 3 it’s a brilliant formula to have in the first aid kit, you can use it face, body and the eye area. Find out more at http://www.lyonsleaf.co.uk.

Eness Nourishing Hand Cream

Hi beauties

Today I have a handcream from Eness, a brand I hadn’t heard of before. I think this may have been in a Glossybox I got, but it’s been a couple of months and I can’t actually remember! Eness is a ethically responsible company using sustainable ingredients, they also support The Save the Rhino trust in Namibia which was set up to save the black rhino.

Eness concentrate on hand and body care products as well as candles and reed diffusers.

I have really enjoyed using this Hand Cream, it’s extremely nourishing without being greasy. You don’t need to use a lot and it smells absolutely gorgeous. It’s fragranced with Ylang Ylang essential oil which I love. It has a fresh, clean, comforting smell. It does linger but I don’t mind that at all! I slather this on at night all over my hands, rub it into my cuticles and then put cotton gloves on and go to sleep. In the morning I have beautifully soft and conditioned hands.

This hand cream is gorgeous and one I would definitely repurchase, it’s fantastically affordable too at £6.50 for a 100ml tube. If you live in the Birmingham area you can pop into their store in Canon Street, if not then you can buy online at http://www.enesscosmetics.co.uk.

Crabtree and Evelyn Goatmilk Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy

Hi beauties

You all know of my hand cream addiction, it certainly hasn’t waned and I have been testing some from Crabtree and Evelyn. Goatmilk is the range that is for sensitive skin, although this has now changed to Goatmilk and Oat. I haven’t tried that yet, it has only been released in the last couple of weeks.

This formula does feel more moisturising than other Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy creams, I don’t know if it is exactly but it does feel slightly thicker. It still delivers great moisturisation with the non-greasy finish that is usual for Hand Therapy, and the fragrance is so beautiful. It is a fresh clean scent which I personally think it is unisex, so great for guys with sore hands. Goatmilk is very soothing, I am prone to a dry patch on one of my little fingers that can get really sore if I am not careful, this hand cream kept that at bay.

I also really love the packaging of Crabtree and Evelyn Hand Creams, I love the tubes as you can get every last drop of hand cream out so you aren’t wasting product and as they are more premium than chemist/drugstore creams that is exactly what you want. I’ve since finished this tube and on a recent trip to an outlet store bought a 250ml bottle, I love this so much!

I would give these as a gift as I think the packaging looks smart and of course more importantly the ingredients are good quality.

This is the 25g size which is £8.00 and available in store and online at http://www.crabtree-evelyn.co.uk

Crabtree and Evelyn Gardner’s Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy

Hi beauties,

You all know I’m addicted to Hand creams so when Crabtree and Evelyn’s Gardeners Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy was a choice in my You Beauty Box I jumped at the chance to have a full size included in my box.

I have actually tried this before and I love it, I just haven’t reviewed it! It’s base is Shea Butter, Macadamia Nut Oil, Glycerin, Chamomile which is so soothing and effective at helping repair rough hands. You don’t need to use a lot for your hands to feel rehydrated. It’s not greasy, if you find it is I would wager you are using too much. I find with Hand creams without Mineral Oil you don’t need to slather loads on to get great results.

The fragrance is so gorgeous, it’s sexy, spicy and completely me. Fresh Green Clover, Lavender, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. It’s quite masculine so would make a great hand cream for the boys. As it’s my kind of scent I would be very selfish and keep it to myself. Luckily my other half doesn’t use hand cream so I don’t have to worry!

Gardeners Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy is available in store and online at Crabtree and Evelyn, and is £18.00 for a huge 100ml tube.

June Glossybox

Hi beauties

I haven’t tried a subscription from Glossybox before so when I saw there was 50% off for the month of June, I thought I would dive in and see what the traditional beauty box is like. My You Beauty Box has products that I am able to choose myself, so I always know what I am getting.

Glossybox sends 5 products, a combination of full and sample sizes for £10.00 plus £3.95 for delivery. I received:

  • Eness Arian Oil hand cream
  • Batiste Heat Protect and Shine Spray
  • 111 Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel
  • Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon in Collosal Coral
  • Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Illuminator

This was a good box for me, I like the mix of products and there isn’t one I won’t use so I am pretty impressed. I am going to get the next month’s box too to compare to see whether or not I will carry on with the subscription. You can sign up at http://www.glossybox.co.uk.

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream

Hi beauties,

Today I have Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream. I ordered this a few months ago while I was having the most awful eczema flare up and wanted to treat it with more natural ingredients rather than the mineral oil based crap my GP prescribed which was not only revolting to use, but it made my skin drier.

Egyptian Magic has only six ingredients: Olive Oil, Bees Wax, Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Bee Propolis. It is a firm Balm that you need to warm up until it emulsifies into an oil and then you can spread it over your skin. A little goes a long way so do be careful with how much you get out of the pot! I use a small spatula and to cover my lower back and down to my legs where the eczema is (it stops mid-thigh) I use around a 50p piece amount and it covers that area. I use Body butter first and use Egyptian Magic to seal it in.

This is a fabulous balm which really does help heal skin. You can use this in so many ways, there are 20 uses for it on their website! You can use it as a makeup remover, lip balm, moisturiser, eye cream, face mask, hair conditioner, baby balm, nail and cuticle balm and the list goes on.

You also get a lot in the pot, 118ml so it’s lasted me for such a long time. If I am wearing my pain killing patches then I’m only using the Balm in the evening. I’ve had mine for 3 months and I’ve not hit the halfway mark yet. I’m not using it quite so much at the moment, as the balm has got my skin in fabulous condition. I bought my pot from an ebay store for £10.00, it is available in Boots but at £29.00. If you have tricky skin and are looking for a natural alternative to the utter rubbish that GP’s prescribe, Egyptian Magic would be a great option.
