Dr Organic Moroccan Glow Body Polish

Dear beauties,

Another offering from Dr Organic today, with their Moroccan Glow Body Polish. This is part of the Moroccan Argan Oil range, this is the first step in self tan aspect.

I am not a self tanner really, I don’t have the patience for it but you don’t need to use faux tan to appreciate this wonderful scrub. I am a huge fan of Dr Organic brand and particularly the Argan Oil products.

Moroccan Glow Body Polish doesn’t use plastic micro beads, it uses micro particles of volcanic lava! It is a good, effective scrub. I prefer to use it before getting my skin wet, so I stand in the shower and apply it before rinsing away. Don’t be too vigorous, you don’t have to go mad to get lovely smooth skin.

It’s one of those Body polishes that has Oil in so you don’t need to use body lotion afterwards. Of course you can, if you want to, but I am lazy! I love products that do two jobs at once. The fragrance of this is beautifully spicy and warm. It’s right up my street, I love it!

As it’s from Dr Organic it’s super affordable. For 200ml tube it costs £8.99, you don’t have to use half a tube at each application either so it would last. Another Dr Organic product that was a real pleasure to use.

Oskia Renaissance Mask

Hi beauties,

Today I have a brand I haven't used before, Oskia London and their Renaissance Mask. Oskia was created by Georgie Cleeve, who was a food journalist who was introduced to the mineral MSM by her father who recommended it for the use in repairing racehorses joints. Georgie sustained serious cartilage damage in her knees due to a skiing accident. She found a remarkable response to the MSM, repairing her joints in a way her surgeons did not think was possible. A side effect of the mineral was a major improvement to the symptoms of her acne, eczema and providing benefits to her hair and nails. Georgie then began training in dermatology, physiology and skincare and after extensive research Oskia was launched in 2009.

The Renaissance Mask is a brightening and resurfacing mask designed to increase cell turnover, boost radiance and gently exfoliate fruit acids from Passion Fruit, Grape, Lemon and Grapefruit. The mask includes MSM with Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes (which reduces melanin production by 47%), Lactic Acid, and Prebiotics.

The mask is a gel texture that you spread over your skin, then massaging into the skin until it turns white. This is to activate the ingredients and also lets you know that it has been applied correctly. You then leave the mask for 10-20 minutes (sensitive skins should start off by leaving it for 10 minutes initially). Before removing, splash your face with water to turn the mask into a milk, activating the second phase, once this has happened rinse off with water.

I love Renaissance Mask, it smells absolutely beautiful with scents of rose, passion fruit and chamomile that makes it very pleasurable to use. I find it easy to use, apply, massage and then relax for 20 minutes. The results from this are brilliant. My skin is clearer, smoother and looks noticeably brighter. Because of all my pigmentation I do find it hard to notice differences in the appearance and brightness of my skin. Also my skin is left feeling moisturised and comfortable so not stripping my oily skin. This is one of the best exfoliating and radiance boosting treatments I have ever tried, but unfortunately there is a downside. The cost for 50ml is £49.50 and that's pretty much out of my price range. However, saying that it is really fantastic mask so it would be one of those extravagances I would have to save up for as the results for me are that good. You can get it from http://www.oskiaskincare.com.

Gatineau Radiance Enhancing Gommage

Hi beauties,

Today is the turn of Gatineau Radiance Enhancing Gommage. This is part of the Activ Éclat range which promotes Radiance.  Gommage is French for exfoliation and this is a great salon-type Treatment that you don't need to go to a salon to get the benefit from.

Radiance Enhancing Gommage is an enzymatic exfoliator so no micro beads which is great for the environment and no particles which is great for skin that can't really use manual exfoliation like mine.

The ingredients are: Isononyl Isononanoate, Triethylhexanoin, Octyldodeceth-25, Aqua (water) Eau>, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Phenoxyethanol, Bisabolol, Propylene Glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Limonene, Parfum , Malic Acid, Pyrus Malus , Butylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid,peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycine Soja (soybean) Oil, Hydrolyzed Triticum Monococcum Seed Extract, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, bacillus Ferment, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Tocopherol, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 40 (CI 16035).

Radiance Enhancing Gommage is packed with Vitamin C to encourage brightness, it's a pearlised gel texture that you spread over your skin and you leave it until it turns from the Gel to a water-like texture. That takes a couple of minutes making this exfoliator so easy to use. You can rinse it off in the shower or remove it with a cloth and you are left with smoother, brighter more glowing skin.

I love this, for the ease of use and the results. I have been using this for a very long time, I can't even remember when I bought it! It was in a kit from QVC which for me is the best way of buying Gatineau, separately it is available for £35.00 for a 75ml tube from http://www.feelunique.com.

Sunday Night Facial with Sarah Chapman

Hi beauties

So recently I did a post where I told you about my prize and what it contained, this post is my reviews on the individual products.

First up is Ultimate Cleanse. I can use three words to describe this: I’m in love. It’s gorgeous! It’s a balm that emulsifies into a Milk when you add water, so doesn’t leave any residue on my skin. These are the kind of oil cleansers that I prefer. The active ingredients in Ultimate Cleanse are: Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Dermaxyl™, Borage Oil, Baobab Oil, Rosehip Oil, Jojoba Oil, Abyssinian Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil. The fragrance is also beautiful, it’s a Floral with a deeper jasmine scent. Ultimate Cleanse is a really lovely Cleanser, for me the only downside is price as it’s £44.00 for 100ml.

Second up is Overnight Exfoliating Booster, this is a brilliant idea. Anything that you pop on your face that exfoliates Overnight and you do nothing else, is fab! Active ingredients are Lactic Acid, Willow Bark, Retinol, Exfolactive EL®, P Refinyl®, Glycorepair®. A couple of pumps for Face and neck and you’re done. In the morning you are left with smoother and brighter skin. A full size 30ml is £59.00.

Overnight Facial is next, the jewel in the crown for Skinesis. This is a beautiful Facial Oil but includes peptides many water based serums have. Active ingredients are: Vitamin A, VCIP Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Lipobrite®HCA-4, Coenzyme Q10, Renovage™, Dermaxyl™Oligopeptide, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Abyssinian Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Melon Oil, Baobab Oil, Jojoba, Jasmine, Rose. The fragrance is gorgeous, very floral and spa like. Overnight Facial really does plump up your skin and hydrate while you sleep. A full size 15ml is £49.00.

Lastly is the 3D Moisture Infusion Masks. I love a sheet mask, and this one is nice. It’s cooling and refreshing and other product that hydrates and plumps up your skin. I’m sure you can see a pattern here! Peptides with low weight Hyaluronic Acid plumps out fine lines, rehydrates and soothes redness. Active ingredients are: Pentavitin®, Skinasensyl™ Tetrapeptide, Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, Defensil®-Plus, Rose Water, Sepitonic™M3. The instructions say to leave this for 10-15 minutes, I left it on longer as it was nice as cooling. It’s drenched in serum, but doesn’t drip (a pet peeve with sheet masks) make sure you get the remaining serum in the packet and use that on your skin, don’t throw it away! My only gripe is that the fit isn’t as good as some other masks I’ve used. It tends to slip down and cover your mouth, which is a bit annoying, however this mask delivers the best results I’ve seen from a sheet mask. A pack of 4 masks is £43.00.

Skinesis is a fabulously indulgent spa range but with scientific ingredients such as the peptides and also the airtight packaging meaning the ingredients stay fresh until the very last pump. I’m really greatful to the gorgeous Arly @detailedorientedbeauty on Instagram for giving me the chance to try these wonderful products. My picks definitely are Ultimate Cleanse and Overnight Facial, I may have to do some saving and get the full sizes!

Till next time,

Sarah Chapman Sunday Night Facial

Hi beauties,

In March the gorgeous Arly from Detailedorientedbeauty on Instagram had a giveaway where I won this fabulous prize from Sarah Chapman Skinesis range. This is the Sunday Night Facial, giving you all you need for a beautiful weekly pamper.

The box contains:

  • Ultimate Cleanse 15ml
  • Overnight Exfoliating Booster 5ml
  • Overnight Facial 5ml
  • 3D Moisture Infusion Masks
  • A Cleansing mitt

I love the way this is presented, it feels like such a treat. The sizes while first appear small, you don’t actually need to use a lot of any of the products so the box gives you a great opportunity to try the Facial several times. Also they are great for travelling meaning you don’t have to skimp on quality Skincare if you go away.

I will be doing full reviews of the products as usual so watch out for those. The Sunday Night Facial system is available from http://www.sarahchapman.net and is £49.00.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% and 2% HA

Hi beauties

I have Lactic Acid Serum from The Ordinary today from one of my previous hauls. I have never used Lactic Acid before so I was interested to see how it fares against glycolic which I have used before.

The Ordinary is a brand that is only getting hotter, I think it’s a fabulous concept, proven ingredients but at a very reasonable price, I think it’s long overdue.

So to Lactic Acid 5% and HA 2%, it’s a clear lightweight serum that you slot in on your normal Serum stage in your routine. You can use moisturisers over the top so it’s easy to use, a nice fluid texture that also is easy to spread over your skin. I tried this a few times until I could stand the smell no longer, to me it smells like beef Hula Hoops. Which to be honest, isn’t a fragrance I want in my Skincare!

It genuinely turned my stomach, and I didn’t find any benefit from the serum at all either. No visible or feeling of more smoothness the next day, so I was really disappointed with this product. Perhaps Lactic Acid just isn’t for me, this particular one certainly isn’t! As always these are just my experiences, I’m fairly used to exfoliation and using acids so I’m at a bit of a loss to see why it didn’t work for me. I wouldn’t try the higher percentage that The Ordinary do as I find the smell so unpleasant. We can’t all love everything!

You can get this from http://www.theordinary.com and it is £5.50 for a 30ml bottle.

The Ordinary Haul 3

Hi beauties

You all know by now my love of things The Ordinary, here is a third Haul of bits of I’ve been wanting to try for a while.

I chose:

  • Lactic Acid 5%
  • Natural Moisturising Factors + HA
  • 100% plant-derived Squalane

I have been testing these out for a while now, I like to give things a decent amount of time, it’s only fair to the products so I will be doing individual reviews coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks!
