Sleek Makeup Rose Gold Blush

Hi beauties,

I have some makeup for a change, it is Sleek Makeup’s blush in Rose Gold. I got this in a blogger beauty box last year, put it in my makeup bag and promptly forgot all about it!! *Rude*.

I hadn’t tried anything from Sleek before as my local stores hadn’t started stocking the range until recently, it was while I was in Boots picking up some medication I saw the stand

Rose gold is one of the hottest colours still, in makeup, clothing, jewellery and so on. This is a powder blush, it actually isn’t as pigmented as it looks in the below swatch, when I was applying it, I found I had to go back to the palette a few times to build it up. But saying that, it means you can have a gentle flush of colour without looking like Aunt Sally.

I chose to wear this on my birthday last month and had lots of compliments on it, it’s a beautiful rosy/peachy shade and I love that it has the highlight kind of mixed in. The sheen you get from this is gorgeous.

I do have one complaint though, and that is the packaging. It’s bloody hard to open, I very nearly lost a nail and you all know how traumatic that would be. It’s difficult to get a grip on the palette and it’s really annoying. I definitely think the brand should rethink the packaging as knowing how hard it is would put me off using it.

It’s a good quality Powder blush and very reasonably priced for around a fiver, so if you want a new blush for spring summer, this would be a lovely option.

Sleek makeUp is available in Boots, Superdrug and online.

Bare Minerals Beautifully Radiant Collection

Hello beauties

This is the latest TSV from Bare Minerals Beautifully Radiant Collection from QVC, this is such a fabulous set and I was so pleased to see the Complexion Rescue as I have always wanted to try it.

The kit contained:

8g Original SPF15 Foundation; full size, my shade is Fairly Light

35ml Complexion Rescue; full size the shade with Fairly Light is Vanilla

0.85g Mineral Blush in Exuberance full size

Moxie Lip Gloss in Californian Dreamer, full size

New Stroke of Light Highlighter, full size

2 handbag sized full flawless face brush and Complexion smoothing brush.

I’m a huge fan of Bare Minerals and have been for years, the Original foundation is pretty much the only base I wear as it’s so easy to use and great for my oily skin. This is the look I have created with the kit (minus the lip gloss, I hate them so that went to my best friend straight away lol) the only thing I have added is some mascara and a BM lipstick in Get Ready.

I used both bases so started off with Complexion Rescue and put my Original foundation over the top as I wanted extra coverage. I then applied the Exuberance blush which is a gorgeous rose tone, I love these kind of shades as they really suit my skintone without being too garish. I always look better with a bit of blush, without it I’m a bit too washed out.

Next I used the Stroke of Light highlighter which is a peach tone, I only used a tiny bit on my cheeks and underneath my brow just to add a bit of lustre and light. The brushes are just the right size for me, I do have quite a small face so find some brushes are too big for my face, these are brilliant especially for the blush.

I’m really pleased with this collection and it’s one I will get a lot of use! I have worn the Complexion Rescue on its own and really like the light coverage you get and you can build on that with more or add your Minerals over the top as I have done here. My only criticism is that they always put lip glosses in TSV’s and I don’t ever wear them, more lipsticks please! This was excellent value at under £44 and thankfully on 4 easy pays so I was able to get this one. Thank you BM and QVC!

Bare Minerals Pure Radiance

Hi beauties,

This is something I have had for a very long time and I really love it, Bare Minerals Pure Radiance. I use this as a blush as it gives you a beautiful glow and I find you don’t need a separate highlighter.

Bare Radiance is a soft peachy shade with a golden glow, it gives you the perfect amount of colour and I love that it gives my skin a real healthy look especially when I am not feeling so good! As with all Bare Minerals loose products you only have to use a very small amount to get a good result. It’s buildable though, so if you do want to use more you can. You can use this as a highlighter and eye colour so it’s really versatile. I have layered this over deeper matte blush shades before to lighten them and give them more sheen.

As you can see, it is a really lovely glowy finish, I like that it gives gentle colour that isn’t too strong for my pale skin. I sometimes find it difficult to find blush that gives me the look I want without making me look like Aunt Sally! Bare Minerals products are so easy to use and you know when you are wearing it, it is good for your skin. You can get Pure Radiance from http://www.bareminerals.co.uk.

Laura Geller Baked Blush Catalina*

image

Hi beauties,

Today is a makeup item Laura Geller Baked Color True Blush in Catalina. I got this in my QVC Beauty Bash goody bag back in January and although Daniel Sandler Watercolour  Fluid Blushes are my favourite, for powder blush Laura Geller is a great go to.

image

Catalina is a gorgeous mauve-pink with a beautiful gentle shimmer. It’s a lovely silk powder texture and the pigment is very easy to build up. Laura’s baked formulations actually start off as creams, they are then put on a terracotta tile and baked in an oven for 24 hours. It also has skincare ingredients like White Tea and Centella Asiatica which are antioxidants.

image

I would say this particular shade is best for paler skin tones, I am not sure that the colour would really show on richer skin tones. The finish is sateen with a shimmer that is really pretty, not over the top and glittery. I had to pop on the flash to pick it up so if you are wary of shimmer this would be a good place to start.

This size is 1.8g, the standard size is 6.5g, I find I don’t need much to get the a good result. Like I said earlier, you can build the pigment so if you do want more of a dramatic look it is easy to do. Perfect colour for Summer, you can just use a small amount for a sheer pretty effect.

Laura Geller makeup is available from http://www.qvcuk.com, her blushes are £20.00 individually or £24.00 with a brush.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Rose Glow

image

Hello lovelies,

I am a huge fan of Daniel Sandler Watercolour Fluid Blusher (that review is for the shade So Pretty) and I want to expand my collection so when Daniel released two new shades I ordered one straight away. Daniel is a UK celebrity makeup artist and I have many of his products on my wish list.

The two new shades were Golden Glow and Rose Glow, I went for Rose as I’ve been looking for a rose gold cheek colour for a long time. I prefer Watercolour Blush as they last the longest on my skin. It doesn’t come off until I cleanse in the evening.

image

As you can see it is a delicate shade, this is just one drop and you can build the colour up very easily. I love it’s rose gold sheen, colour and highlight in one product so it’s extremely easy and quick to use. I’m nervous of contouring and highlighting so I look for products that have a highlighting abilities. Rose Glow is a perfect for my pale skin tone, it warms me up without looking muddy and also perfect for Spring/Summer.

You can apply Watercolours with your fingers, I prefer to use Daniel’s Waterbrush and I think you get the best results. It’s an angled brush that hugs your cheek dispensing the right amount of product. I apply one drop on the back of my hand and add more if I want to build the colour. It’s a fabulous light texture, it spreads easily onto your skin and a 15ml bottle will last a very long time. Daniel’s website also sells samples in 2ml bottles, I know a lot of makeup artists order all the shades for their kits. They are really affordable way of finding your ideal shade.

Watercolours are kind to your skin containing Jojoba and Vitamin E, non drying and supple. They leave a beautiful brightening dewy finish which are great for all skin types. Watercolour Fluid Blushers are availble from http://www.danielsandler.com and are £15.50 for a 15ml bottle.

Xenca Perfection Blush in Rose

 Hello beauties,

This gorgeous blush from Xenca Organic Makeup I received in my October Blogger Beauty Box (click here to read) and I was so pleased it was blush as I am not a big wearer of eye makeup. I had not heard of the brand before but I am very interested in organic skincare and makeup. This is Xenca Perfection Blush in Rose which is perfect for my skin tone.

As you can see it is a true traditional rose colour, it looks matte, but there is a very subtle shimmer that runs through the blush which you see more on the skin than you can in the pan.

image

If I had been able to pick the makeup item, this blush is definitely what I would choose. It lifts my pale skin and makes me look alive, I’ve worn it pretty much every day since I received it. I adore it! It’s the perfect colour and it really does last on my skin. You can just see the golden shimmer that runs through the blush, it warms me up without my skin looking muddy which why I can’t use bronzer. It’s also a huge 9.5g size that will last for ever!

Xenca do a range of supplements as well as their skincare and makeup offering, I am looking into trying their foundation as I prefer a pressed powder formula for more coverage.

I’m really impressed with this blush and can’t wait to try more from the range. Xenca Perfection Blush in Rose is £17.95 and available from https://www.xenca.com/
