Body On Demand Bake Daily Tighten Tan

Hey beauties,

A H&B advent calendar offering today (better late than never!!) with Body On Demand Bake Daily Tighten Tan, as I’ve caught some colour over the last couple of weeks on my neck and arms (typical farmers tan!!) I wanted to even up my neck, chest and tops of my arms.

Bod claim that this product helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite with the ingredients Lipout and Xeradin. To be honest (and you guys always know I am) I think this is total crap. A tan will automatically make your wobbly bits look better, it’s an optical illusion so I don’t think it has anything to do with those ingredients. It certainly didn’t make any difference to my skin…

That isn’t my only gripe, I prefer gradual tans if I do use a tanning product. They are easier to use, you don’t get the streaking you associate with mousses or sprays and generally you have more control which as a pale skinned person I need! However, I found even using this twice a day for a week it only made a slight difference in colour. The tanning drops I was using on my face made a good colour change overnight.

I don’t tan very often because I can’t be bothered and I hate using body lotion twice a day even though I probably should. I used to use the Dover Summer Body Lotion which I could use once a day for 2-3 days to get the colour I want and then every other day to maintain it. Far too much hassle with this one!

You can get this from Feel Unique, £4.99 for the travel size 50ml and the full size 150ml is £9.99. I won’t bother again..

Ambre Solaire UV Water Clear Sun Cream Mist SPF50

Hi beauties,

SPF today which is pertinent for this time of the year. I saw this Ambre Solaire UV Water Clear Sun Cream Mist SPF50 recommended by Nadine Baggott on one of her recent videos, and found the last one in my local Boots.

To be honest I got it for the gimmicky applicator and wasn’t expecting much of the formula, but I have to say it is brilliant. It’s the best body SPF I have ever used. It’s cooling straight on application, so easy to apply and the spray is really fine. It’s not greasy or sticky at all and protects your skin straight away. It’s a repeat application sunscreen, but I don’t find this a chore due to how easy it is to apply. It literally takes seconds and dries so quickly, I’ve never used an SPF on my body that I have enjoyed so much which does encourage me to use it.

On the bottle, it does say for face and body, however it does say on the back not to be directly sprayed onto your face. I don’t think it’s that effective to spray on your hand and rub in to be honest so I would stick with my usual facial formula altruist-dermatologist-sunscreen-spf50

Ambre Solaire UV Water is a great value SPF too at £8.00 for a 200ml bottle, I’ve been using it every day I go out and chucking it in my handbag for touch ups. I would definitely repurchase this.

Green Keratin Resurrection Reblossom Serum*

Hi beauties,

Today I have a new launch from Green Keratin, Resurrection Reblossom Serum*. Regular readers will now I love Green Keratin, the are an independent U.K. company based in Bristol making products with good quality natural organic ingredients for excellent value prices. Co founders Anderson and Glen started the business at their kitchen table making products for family and friends. Green Keratin has since developed and is stocked both in the U.K. and in Europe.

The new Resurrection range is based on the Resurrection plant extract, this plant is well known for surviving dry and arid conditions for long periods, and will “come back to life” when moisture is reintroduced. This maintains hydration levels within your skin, giving a lovely bouncy glowing look. Collageneer, a firming agent is also included, Coconut endosperm (from coconut water) which helps with skin roughness, Hyaluronic Acid for hydration and antioxidants such as resveratrol, green tea, and coenzyme Q10 for skin protection against the elements.

Resurrection Reblossom Serum is beautiful, wonderfully hydrating and plumping. I started using this when I received the set in May, it performed well in the Spring time but really coming into its own as we have had this significantly warmer weather. I sweat a lot in the summer and have to blot my face a lot, Resurrection Reblossom Serum has kept my skin hydrated and comfortable without the dehydration I can get even with my oily skin when it is very warm.

This serum is a beautifully light water like texture and sinks in super quickly. It’s so refreshing thanks to the cucumber fruit extract as well as the cucumber oil, it’s not greasy or heavy. Works well under SPF and makeup, none of the dreadful pilling that can occur! I’ve also used it under a sleeping mask at night which left my skin looking fabulous in the morning.

In my opinion Resurrection Reblossom Serum is another winner from Green Keratin. A wonderful hydrating, refreshing serum that would work in the warmest of weathers, I could also see this as a lovely layer in the cooler months too when we have the heaters blowing and we are in and out of hot buildings. It comes in a very generous 50ml size, (you need very small amounts) at a very reasonable £26.95, the 30ml equivalent would be around £16 which is brilliant for this quality of serum that can be used by all skin types. I was gifted this, however as usual all opinions are my own.

Thanks to the Green Keratin team for the opportunity to try this fabulous new launch. Look out for reviews on the facial oil and moisturiser soon.

Natura Siberica Oblepikha Scalp Scrub

Hi beauties,

Haircare today with Natura Siberica Oblepikha Scalp Scrub.

As I suffer with psoriasis of the scalp, I get a very sore flaky scalp very easily but it had never occurred to me to use a scrub every so often to get rid of the flakes so that my steroid treatment could work better.

I found this online, I had heard of the brand before thanks to Natura Siberica skincare so I thought I would try this scrub. I use a walnut size amount on my hair, apply to wet hair and scrub! It foams lightly but there isn’t any SLS, you definitely do need conditioner afterwards as it tends to make my hair a bit squeaky.

Oblepikha is a great scrub, I don’t go mad as my scalp is sensitive so I use it every 2 weeks or so and I find it helps to get rid of the larger, looser flakes and it helps to break up some of the plaques to let in my steroid treatment.

Brilliant value at £5.75 for a 200ml tube and it’s lasted me well. If you need a scalp scrub you can’t go far wrong.

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Balm

Hi beauties,

Elemis is one of my favourite brands, for many reasons. I love the skincare and bodycare, and love to give Elemis as gifts, usually very well received!

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Balm is my most favourite body cream from the brand. It’s decadent, sexy, heady (but not sickening) exotic floral scent is intoxicating and luxurious and the texture is divine. Richer than the Frangipani Monoi Body Cream, which I like, but this formula just eclipses it in terms of long lasting moisture.

Rosehip Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil along with Shea Butter make it beautifully rich, but not suffocating, I find it sinks in well, I love it as a Hand Cream as well as body cream as I’m addicted to the smell!

For 120ml it’s £21.20 from Elemis, so it’s not the cheapest body lotion but for a special treat for yourself or as a gift it is well worth it. One of my fave ranges for pampering spa products.

Green Keratin Rebalancing Ultra Combo Night Balm

Hi beauties,

I love balms and I’m addicted to them. Today I have Green Keratin Rebalancing Ultra Combo Night Balm I bought a little while ago.

This is a gorgeous formula, soft smooth balm that is really easy to apply. Ultra Combo Night Balm is made with hazelnut oil, jojoba seed oil, evening primrose oil, Squalane, and essential oils of rose geranium, grapefruit and ylang ylang.

I love this balm, sometimes I am just too tired to do a whole layering routine so I Cleanse and use this balm. My skin is left comfortable, soft, smoother and hydrated. Balms are a great multipurpose products that don’t just have to be for your face. I take a pea sized amount, gently warm it in my hands and apply it all over my face and neck.

The fragrance is beautiful and the balm feels lovely on the skin. Definitely a night product for me, it’s too rich for daytime. Excellent value as always from Green Keratin, a 50ml jar is £16.95, while this one is for combination and oily skins to help regulate its Sebum production, there are others in the range for you for different ages and skin types. You all will know by now I love this brand, and while they do regularly send products for me to try, I bought with my own money.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Body Gentle Mitt Cleanser – Lavender and Vetiver

Hi beauties,

I have another “flavour” of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Body Gentle Mitt Cleanser today, Lavender and Vetiver. The Original version I absolutely love along with the facial formula, so I thought this would be pretty amazing.

I wasn’t wrong, the usual base of Cleanse and Polish Body is the same, the gentle, lathering, creamy wash is absolutely beautiful. I don’t use this in the conventional way, I actually use it as a daily body wash, the richness is perfect for my skin. It leaves your skin so super soft and feeling moisturised.

The fragrance is stunning, the gorgeous herby lavender and the sensual woody vetiver is fantastic combination. I use this at any time, the vetiver cuts through the lavender so it’s wonderfully comforting and relaxing without being too soporific! I hope this will be a permanent addition to the Cleanse and Polish Body family.

The price is £19.00 for a 200ml tube which I think is great value. You need such a small amount even using it without the mitt that it lasts me for months with daily use. A very welcome addition to the Liz Earle range I would heartily recommend.
