Dr Organic Skin Clear Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash

Hi beauties,

Another cleanser today, you guys know is something I can never resist buying! This time it’s the turn of De Organic Skin Clear Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash.

This is a beautiful gel textured face wash. I always use this as an AM cleanse or PM second cleanse. I wouldn’t use this to remove makeup as I don’t think it would be suitable for that. It’s a gorgeous silky gel that slightly lathers. You won’t get buckets of foam with this so if that’s what you are after you will be disappointed.

The ingredients are fab, there are AHA’s as well as Salicylic Acid. The fragrance is light citrus with Tea Tree, Orange, Lime and Grapefruit. It’s not too heavy on the fruity scent thankfully as usually I do not like these fragrances.

I will be honest, I love this product. It makes my skin feel fresh, clean and smooth. It doesn’t tingle or make you feel uncomfortable in any way. What I don’t like is the packaging. It feels really cheap, squidgy pound shop plastic. It wrinkles easily which I really hate too.

Let’s get to price: as it’s Dr Organic it’s bonkers value for money at £6.99 for 125ml. A definite repurchase even though the packaging lets the product down for me. The juice inside is just too good not to use!

Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator

Hi beauties,

Another product from Paula’s Choice Resist Anti Aging Clear Skin Hydrator.

This was part of a set I purchased Paula’s Choice Resist Anti- Aging Trial Kit a little while ago and have been testing. Paula’s Choice state this moisturiser is for Normal, Oily and Combination skins, it’s an extremely light texture and it sinks in so quickly. No greasy feel, full of good ingredients like Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Green Tea. There isn’t any fragrance so great for you people who don’t like scented skincare.

This is a good moisturiser, but as with I have found with most PC products I’ve used I find it dull to use and expensive for what it is. £32.00 for 50ml I personally think there are better moisturisers out there that are more affordable in price. I wouldn’t choose this as an “anti aging” moisturiser, it feels far too basic for that category so I wouldn’t purchase a full size.

What I do like is that Paula’s Choice sell these discovery/travel kits and sample sizes so you can try before investing in a full size. You can find all their products at http://www.paulaschoice.co.uk

Marks and Spencer Pure Super Grape Overnight Resurfacing Mask

Hello beautiful people!

Today I have a product from Marks and Spencer whose beauty offering has really improved over the last decade, they now carry a lot of prominent brands such as Nuxe, Pixi, Emma Hardie, Origins, Ren, Murad etc… as well as their own Formula skincare which I’ve been reading good things about.

I was browsing in my local store which has a tiny display, it only carries their own brands of beauty so anything else I want I have to order in. Anyway, I saw the Pure Super Grape Overnight Mask and thought I would give it a try. I’m a huge fan of masks in general and a leave on night mask can be a great speedy skincare option on an evening.

This is an overnight glycolic acid mask, it’s a light gel-type texture in a pump tube. I really like the packaging, easy to use and I think it looks smart. The mask itself is also easy to apply, smooth on a couple of pumps and leave on overnight.

It claims to be a hydrating and exfoliating mask, making skin smoother and radiant, but unfortunately this mask did nothing for me. I wouldn’t even say it was particularly good at offering hydration and there was near to no exfoliation effect either. Such a shame as I had high hopes for this product, perhaps if you are new to glycolic acid it might be worth a try. For a 50ml tube it’s £16.00 so not a fortune but I wouldn’t repurchase.

I do want to try more from the M&S Pure brand, I’ve already tried their Rose Cleansing Balm (which for £12 is a steal!) and that is so lovely so I’m hoping this fail is a one off!

Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial

Hi beauties,

Another Ren product today, the Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial.

I would describe this as a mask type product, I use it in the morning after cleansing if I’m not using a Vitamin C Serum. So quick face wash and then apply the Flash Rinse.

You apply the product, add water to activate the ingredients and then leave it on for 1 minute. Great to leave on while you are brushing your teeth or waiting for the shower to warm up. I then rinse off in the shower and carry on with my routine as normal.

It has an exfoliating effect, it makes your skin feel SO smooth. I wouldn’t use acids after this, otherwise it might make your skin a bit stingy as it did when I tried it!! I like this when I haven’t got a designated Vit C product in my routine, used every few days it makes your skin look brighter and feel beautifully smooth. It’s £34.00 for 75ml which I know does sound like a lot but you really don’t need a lot, the tube is huge! I think it does offer value for money, although Ren often have promotions on which is when I bought mine.

I really like this and I wasn’t sure that I would. I would buy this again, Flash Rinse has surprised me! Not only is it so easy to use, for me the results have been great. Well worth trying.

A.Florence Skincare Hydration Booster Serum*

Hi beauties,

Today I have A.Florence Skincare Hydration Booster Serum* that was very kindly gifted to me by the brand’s founder Tina.

Hydration Booster Serum is a great multitasker, with ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Peptides, Vitamin C, Green Tea, Liquorice Root and Ginko Biloba. Hydrating with antioxidants and also with a prebiotic complex this makes a perfect lightweight oil free serum for morning or night. Personally I prefer to use Super Serum in the morning and Hydration Booster in the evening but there are no rules. You could even mix them together if you wanted.

I love serums like these, because they are so versatile and you can fit them into your routine in so many different ways. I’ve mixed this facial oils too which works well, in fact you really can’t go wrong with Hydration Booster.

Also what I love about brands like Aflorence, not only their ethos which is organic and botanical ingredients with proven actives, but they do travel/discovery sizes as well as their full size products. I like the option to be able to buy smaller sizes not only to travel with but to try new things out first before investing in the full size. I have to say though this 10ml bottle lasted me such a long time and I used it very frequently. The 10ml is £13.00 and 30ml is £32.00.

Thank you to Tina for sending me this fabulous serum to try.

Elemis Sea Lavender and Samphire Hand and Nail Balm

Hi beauties,

Another Elemis product today with Sea Lavender and Samphire Hand and Nail Balm. I bought this in a kit with the beautiful Elemis Sea Lavender and Samphire Shower Milk and also came with a body lotion.

Sea Lavender and Samphire is a gorgeous aquatic fragrance, very fresh and unisex. This hand balm is richer than Elemis’ usual hand creams which I love. It has a lovely silky texture, not greasy or sticky. I use this at all times of the day because it’s so refreshing and doesn’t leave your hands in a mess after using. £20.00 for 100ml tube, it’s Elemis’ usual quality and is absolutely beautiful. I love it!

Facetheory Regena C20 Serum

Hi beauties,

I bought the Facetheory Regena C20 Vitamin C Serum last year in a package with a cleanser and a Retinol serum. I’ve been desperately trying to find a Vitamin C Serum that gives me results and I enjoy using.

Regena C20 Serum is 20% stabilised sodium ascorbyl phosphate with ferulic acid, liquorice, aloe vera, squalane, dill extract and Hyaluronic acid. Facetheory say that this serum doesn’t oxidise easily however, the serum is bright orange (something I understand when Vitamin C DOES oxidise) and it has a meaty/metallic kind of smell.

The serum is also very sticky, no matter how much I used whether two or three drops or half a pipette, it was sticky and felt unpleasant. This will not be a repurchase, I am already testing out something else after chucking it in the bin. I just hope the other two products I bought will not be as disappointing than this serum.
