Green Keratin GK11 Seriously Ageless Face Cream*

Hi beauties,

Today I have Green Keratin GK11 Seriously Ageless Face Cream*. This formula was made alongside Green Keratin GK11 Seriously Ageless Serum* to celebrate Green Keratin’s 11th birthday.

This anti ageing moisturiser is a blend of of beautiful plant oils such as Camellia, Avocado, Thistle Seed with potent ingredients Matrixyl, Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide. It’s a medium weight lotion that is beautifully hydrating with gorgeous essential oils of rose, geranium and may chang.

GK11 Seriously Ageless Face Cream feels very luxurious to use, it is one of the most expensive of the brands moisturisers at £29.95 for 50ml. For me, it certainly meets my expectations in terms of that price range. The texture is so lovely and smoothing and the fragrance is spa like and fresh. I layered it with various oils and serums I have in my stash and I can confirm it plays well with others.

I love moisturisers in pump bottles, I know you shouldn’t really get excited about packaging but to be honest I do prefer this type. It’s more hygienic and keeps the ingredients more stable. I think this is a beautiful formula and a joy to use. To see more from the brand go to http://www.greenkeratin.com

Till next time,

Paula’s Choice Resist Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser

Hi beauties

Today another Paula’s Choice choice! This time the Resist Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser, which was part of the Paula’s Choice Resist Anti- Aging Trial Kit.

Resist is part of the anti ageing line, it says it fights the signs of ageing. Quite how I don’t know! I have to say this is a really BORING cleanser. I know Paula’s line doesn’t have fragrance or essential oils or anything that could be irritating but I do enjoy a pretty smell. It’s effective but god it’s dull!

Another product of Paula’s that I’m not a fan of. I am coming to the conclusion that it’s overpriced for what it is, when there are other ranges using Vitamin C and Niacinamide such as Garden of Wisdom, even La Roche Posay that are cheaper. A 190ml bottle of this cleanser is £21.00, I have purchased a 400ml of LRP Toleriane for a better price at around £14.00.

I know PC is very popular with people who have sensitive skin and it’s great that these options are out there. It’s just I don’t think it is for me.

Feather and Down All Purpose Sleep Balm

Hi beauties

I love Feather and Down, it’s my go to brand for sleep inducing products, the fragrance is simply divine.

The Feather and Down All Purpose Sleep Balm is a great travel product, it has all the beautiful lavender and chamomile scent that the rest of the range has, but it’s in a handy balm formula. It says to use this on pulse points (temples, wrists etc) which you absolutely can do, but that’s not what I use mine for.

In the evening I really take care of my hands, that means the layering of multiple products and then chucking on a pair of white cotton gloves. I use this balm all over my hands and rubbed into cuticles too, it’s moisturising with the coconut oil and cocoa butter and the fragrance helps me wind down for sleep.

Feather and Down All Purpose Balm is £7.00 for a generous 16g and is available at Boots.

Jordan Samuel Hydrate Facial Serum*

Hello beauties,

Today I have an instagram classic, Jordan Samuel Hydrate Facial Serum. This is one of those fabulous products that really does what it says on the tin.

Hydrate is a like a drink of water for your skin, it’s easy to apply, you don’t need loads of product making a standard 30ml bottle lasting months and months with regular use. The formula is gorgeous, Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe, Glycerin, Tamarind Extract, cucumber and Passion flower extracts. It’s light and absorbs really easily.

I also like to use this around my eyes as it plumps up lines beautifully. Non greasy so perfect for my oily skin type, it feels utterly weightless as it disappears almost instantly.

I will be honest and say this isn’t my favourite HA serum but that is only because of the limited availability for the U.K. Jordan does ship to the U.K, but unfortunately as I’ve said in my previous posts it’s the shipping and customs that makes it a bit more expensive for me. However, that is nothing to do with the product performance or formulation, I am on an extremely limited budget. The price for a 30ml bottle of Hydrate is $29.00, there is also a 120ml version that retails for $72.00.

Again thank you to the Skincare fairy for the chance to try this brilliant product! Check out all of Jordan’s line at http://www.jordansamuelskin.com

Pixi Eye Reflection Shadow Palette

Hello beauties,

I have the Pixi Eye Reflection Shadow Palette – Mixed Metals. You all know my love of shimmer and shine when it comes to makeup particularly metallic formulas, so I couldn’t resist getting this.

1-3

3-6

7-9

10-12

These shades are stunning, not sure I would wear the Foiled Magenta, I’m not sure I’m brave enough, but the gold/copper/bronze colours are perfect for me.

Pigment is good and long lasting for powder/cream eyeshadow. A wee bit of fall out when you use a brush not so much if you use fingers. The formula does feel really creamy it’s more than I would usually spend on a palette as it is £24.00 but the quality does feel a lot better than much cheaper shadows I’ve used before.

I got my palette from QVCUK, it’s also available from Pixi direct.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

Hi beauties,

I have the iconic Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid. I bought this earlier on in the year and have been trying it out.

Salicylic Acid works better for my skin, but I have to say I don’t get the hype for this product at all. It’s ok, however for me I much prefer Jane Scrivner Skinfoliate, that’s an AHA/BHA blend of acids which makes my skin super smooth and helps to keep breakouts at bay.

Also I do find Paula’s Choice products at the more expensive end for 118ml it’s £26.00 while you get 150ml for the same price with Jane so better value for money.

I wouldn’t buy this again even at the travel size to be honest, it hasn’t given me the results I was looking for and I have been left distinctly unimpressed.

Liz Earle Superskin Overnight Mask

Hi beauties

A relatively new launch from Liz Earle, especially to the Superskin range the Superskin Overnight Mask.

This mask is absolutely beautiful, I have completely fallen in love with it. I use it maximum of twice a week as I am more on the oily side, you could use it more if you are dry or have more mature skin.

It definitely delivers on what it’s description explains “Slow the ticking, naturally, with our luxurious overnight mask, delivering radiance-enhancing nourishment for visibly brighter, smoother and firmer-feeling skin by morning.
Supercharged with extracts of Persian silk tree to brighten and even skin tone, pomegranate flower to firm, plus buriti, borage, rosehip and cranberry seed oils to intensely nourish and lock moisture onto skin.”

The glow you get in the morning is beautiful, I do notice a brightness not so much firmness as that’s not a concern I have. So quick and easy to use, I use a pea size amount for face, neck and chest and go to sleep.

Superskin Overnight Mask is also brilliant value, for 100ml it cost £43.00. You need so very little that if you used it twice a week I think you would get 6-8 months out of one jar. Don’t be tempted to use too much, you really don’t need it. If you need a quick fix overnight Superskin is a fabulous option.
