Osmo Deep Moisture Dual Action Miracle Repair

Hi beauties,

I don’t review much haircare, I think its because of the psoriasis on my scalp I am very particular in what I use. I came across Osmo online and ordered this leave in conditioner, I was testing this just after Christmas, and it is in the winter months I do enjoy having a leave in formula.

Dual Action Miracle Repair is a dual phase formula, so a good shake is needed before use. Just shampoo and towel dry, and spray directly onto your hair. This is a fantastic deep conditioner, it does exactly as it says on the bottle, is easy to use and smells divine!

This isn’t a deep conditioner that leaves your hair heavy, however I will say err on the side of caution with the application. The first time I used it I was a bit trigger happy and applied too much which made my hair feel great but looked rather greasy.

The fragrance is Patchouli and Ylang Ylang so if you’re not into floral scents this wouldn’t be for you, I love both of those essential oils so it’s perfect for me.

This really works, it’s a deep conditioning treatment that leaves my hair soft and much less frizzy and coarse. Also it’s a 250ml sized bottle, with me using 2-3 sprays I’ve still got loads left! I bought mine from Fragrance Direct at the princely sum of £6.50, it’s currently on offer at £4.50.

Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash

Hi beauties,

Another cleanser I have fallen in love with recently is Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash. I first received in a fabulous QVCUK kit and was very interested to test it out.

This is a cream foaming wash, quite a rich texture that emulsifies easily with water. It blitzes through makeup making it great for first and second cleanse. I usually use it in the shower in the morning but I have used it in the traditional hot cloth method.

Being an Elemis product it has a host of Botanical ingredients like Apple, Fig, Pracaxi oil extract which is from an Amazonian tree that helps keep your moisture barrier protected. Gentle Foaming Facial Wash also smells divine, a combination of sweet and bitter orange, lemon, Ylang Ylang and Pettigrain. Slightly floral and woody with a sweet note without being sickly.

I’ve just bought a massive 250ml duo from QVCUK for the bargain price of £32.00, an offer which was to celebrate Elemis 23 years on the channel. The normal size and price is 150ml for £28.00, the supersize 250ml is £40.00.

SVR Topialyse Huile Lavante Micellaire

Hello beauties,

You all know of my obsession with oils, so when Feel Unique has 3 for 2 around my birthday I chose this Micellar Oil which can be used for both face AND body!

Topialyse Huile Lavante Micellaire is part of the Topialyse range which is for dry to very dry skins so perfect for me to treat my eczema. This unlike the Gel Lavant doesn’t contain any SLS (it always annoys me something chronic when dry skin ranges uses an ingredient that can make dry skin worse!!) but does contain Omegas 3,6,9, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Prebiotic sugar, and Cotton Seed Oil. It does however contain fragrance so for you guys who don’t like or tolerate fragrance unfortunately this won’t be for you.

I adore this cleanser, I originally bought the 400ml bottle but couldn’t wait to use it and totally forgot to take a photo – bad blogger! So I bought a back up 1 litre bottle. This is so affordable and convenient, on my trip to London this is all I took for hair wash, cleanser and body wash. It’s great at makeup removal as well as being a hydrating first cleanse.

Topialyse Huile Lavante Micellaire is also fabulously affordable, 200ml is £9.90 for the baby size and the massive daddy 1litre is £17.90. It’s available at Feel Unique and also EasyParapharmacie.co.uk. A definite essential skin and body care formula.

Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser*

Hi beauties,

A couple of months ago I was delighted to receive a package from the extremely kind Jane Scrivner including her Nourishing Cleanser which I hadn’t tried before.

Nourishing Cleanser is a non emulsifying Cleansing Balm, it’s a beautifully rich texture that is suitable for all skin type. Non stripping and with emollient beeswax and balancing Jojoba and 9 beautiful essential oils. It smells absolutely heavenly, and feels wonderfully smoothing. It also blitzes makeup including the Über stubborn waterproof makeup too.

Emulsifying balms are my preference, this isn’t but it’s won me over big style! Nourishing Cleanser is a luxurious treat, for me it makes cleansing a joy. It’s £46.00 for 100ml, (you only need a tiny bit so it’s more economical than you would think) and while it’s not in my usual price range it is definitely a cleanser I would save up for and treat myself with. Complete luxury from a wonderful British independent brand. I would like to say a huge thank you to Jane for giving me the opportunity to try her stunning cleanser.

Natura Siberia Rhodiola Rosea Face Serum

Hi beauties,

Today I have the Natura Siberica Rhodiola Rosea Face Serum, I bought this when I went to London to Whole Foods (I LOVE their health and beauty section!!) at the time my skin was still being a little temperamental (thankfully all back to normal now) and this serum had been on my radar for a while.

Natura Siberica uses wild harvested plants and herbs, it’s certified organic, using natural ingredients sources from Siberia. Rhodiola Rosea Serum helps to relieve dryness and intensively nourishes Skin. It also has SYN-AKE and SYN-COL to regenerate skin cells and helps to stimulate collagen production, Hyaluronic Acid and Bisabolol hydrate, reduce inflammation and calms skin.

This serum is a god send! It really helps to reduce redness and irritation. It’s not oily or greasy and works well underneath moisturiser and makeup. I love this, and have been using it even when my skin was back to normal. It’s not thick or heavy and absorbs quickly. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good for the price, which for a 30ml pump bottle is £11.75. Rhodiola Rosea is a great every day serum as well as an SOS product, the day and Night Cream are on my list to try as well as their Sophora Japonica range for combination and oily skin.

You can get the range at Whole Foods or go direct to http://www.naturasiberica.co.uk they do body and Haircare too and the prices are very reasonable. Looking forward to trying more from the brand.

Lyonsleaf Natural Zinc and Calendula Cream

Hi beauties,

Today I have Lyonsleaf Natural Zinc and Calendula Cream. I ordered this when my eczema was playing up, my skin was ever so itchy and sore and Calendula is an ingredient I have used successfully before.

Lyonsleaf make products on a small farm in the Mendip Hills in Somerset, they grow their ingredients where possible and all products are water free so the use of preservatives and emulsifiers are not required.

I bought this Balm and actually didn’t need to use it for that long to see results. It creates a barrier to protect your skin, the Zinc added to the Calendula is more soothing and within a couple of days my skin wasn’t flaking, not itchy and much more smooth than before. I used it twice a day, in the morning after my shower and in the evening before bed. After about three days I went down to using it at night, and a week later my skin was pretty much back to normal. You could still see the brown marks but my skin was more hydrated, all the flaking had completely gone.

My Mum also had great success with this Balm too, she suffers with cold sores and had a rather nasty one at the time I was testing this out. I gave it to her which massively improved the cold sore and within a week that had gone too. This really is an incredible products for compromised skin! Brilliant also as a lip balm, for cracked heels, dry elbows and I also used it on my hands and cuticles.

I would definitely repurchase this, you need such a small amount that a 30ml jar lasts a very long time. Even when I had a lot of skin to cover, it proved economical to use. At £8.99 a jar (a 120ml jar is available for £22.50 and you can also buy a sample size) I think is great value for money. Especially as it’s so effective and multipurpose. Bare Minerals BB Advanced Performance 5 in 1 Cream Eyeshadow

Hi beauties,

Some makeup today with 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow from Bare Minerals. I’m sure you know of my love for BM, I’ve been a Bare girl for years now.

I am quite a novice when I come to makeup, I don’t know a lot of advanced techniques I like to keep things simple (KISS – keep it simple stupid!) so I love things that are fast and easy but still looks like I’ve made an effort. Enter 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Eyeshadow.

This cream eyeshadow is amazing, it really is 5 in 1. It’s a long wear colour, primer, brightening, smoothing, and has a mineral sunscreen. It’s super easy to apply with the doe foot applicator and you can blend it quickly with very little effort. I always use my fingers to blend, you can use a brush if you wish to but you don’t have to.

I have the shade Soft Linen (swatched above) my favourite is Bare Nude which is quite difficult to get hold of, so Soft Linen is the next best shade for me. I mainly use it alone, I have used it as a primer for other shadows and it lasts all day. I have very oily eyelids and it really stays put! The pigment is brilliant and really hides the red and purple tones I have on my eyelid.

5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow is £19.00 and comes in various shades. Quite expensive for one shadow really, but I do feel it’s worth it, it’s versatile and a perfect addition to my makeup bag.
