Beauty Kitchen Abyssinian Oil Aroma Facial Concentrate

Hi beauties

I’m sure you are all aware of my addiction to oils, and this one has proved to be a real favourite.

I have written about Beauty Kitchen before, I have tried a few products now that I really enjoyed, the Cleanser, the Line Serum, Moisturiser (other reviews will be coming too) but Aroma Facial Concentrate is my pick of the Abyssinian Oil range.

its a Light Oil, and you don’t need much. 3-6 drops is what I use depending on what my skin needs, I tend to use more on my neck which is thirstier than my face. It also smells absolutely divine wth essential oils of Palmarosa and Magnolia. Aroma Facial Concentrate is suitable for oily and dry skins helping regulate sebum production and rich in Omega 9 it helps to moisturise your skin too.

Aroma Facial Concentrate is also fabulous value, it’s £19.99 for 30ml. I’ve had the 15ml and used it regularly, I still have just under half the bottle left. I do switch it up with other oils in my stash, but I’ve already got a back up full size. Beauty Kitchen is sold in Holland and Barrett and often on offer.

Senspa Thai Rituals Moisture Heaven Body Wash

Hi beauties

I have an offering from Senspa today, Thai Rituals Moisture Heaven Body Wash. Senspa has a Thai Spa in the New Forest at Careys Manor. The brand also have a skincare range as well as their bodycare.

Senspa is stocked in my local Waitrose, I always browse the health and beauty aisle as some great products can be found such as this beautiful body wash. It’s SLS free which is always the first thing I look for as it dries my skin so badly, this is very kind to my skin in that it doesn’t make my dry patches worse. It feels like silk and my skin feels comfortable afterwards and not screaming for body lotion!

Next is the fragrance, it is beautiful. Heavenly by name, Heaven by nature! It contains Neroli which is one of my most favourite scents, along with Jasmine and Ylang Ylang. It’s gently Floral without being overpowering and it’s gorgeous to use at any time of the day. I absolutely love it!! I also love the packaging, it’s in a handy tube and it looks attractive.

For 200ml Moisture Heaven Body Wash costs £5.95, for the quality I can’t believe it isn’t more expensive. For me it’s a joy to use and I will definitely repurchase. You can get it from Waitrose or online at http://www.senspa.co.uk.

Feather and Down Sleep Butter

Hello beauties,

I adore the Feather and Down Sleep Pillow Spray, it is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I smelled the fragrance I rushed to Boots online to place an order for practically the whole range.

Sleep Butter is so beautiful, it’s a gorgeous texture that melts into your skin. I use it all over and it’s been great for my dry skin. This also makes a fabulous hand treatment with the body oil layered underneath. The smell is divine and really helps me relax. It has a soufflé type of feel to it, and I find it easier to use with a spatula. A little goes a long way too so you don’t need to use half a tub!

Sleep Butter doesn’t contain any mineral oils, it’s Shea Butter based with Cocoa Butter and Sweet Almond Oil and fragranced with Lavender and Chamomile. It’s also good value for money, £8.00 for 300ml. This is a definite repurchase, in fact the whole range is, Sleep I find difficult at the best of times so I’m interested in anything that helps me relax. Available from http://www.featheranddownsleep.com and http://www.boots.com.

Faith in Nature Brave Botanicals Haircare

Hi beauties,

Haircare today, and this isn’t a category I try a lot of, I’m fairly basic when it comes to my hair but this set from Faith in Nature were better than half price deal from Holland and Barrett and the fragrance of Rose and Neroli was something I knew I had to try.

Shampoo is sulfate free and a beautiful gel texture. I use about a 10p size blob for my hair so I’ve been using this forever and it’s still in my shower going strong! Leaves your hair feeling soft even before Conditioner, so it doesn’t leave your hair feeling squeaky.

The Conditioner I was slightly disappointed with, my hair is quite coarse and I need a certain thickness of conditioner and I feel this was a bit too runny for my liking. My hair was still soft when I was finished, but I don’t think compared to my usual Kind Natured Conditioner which is a thicker texture. However, the fragrance is absolutely divine! I really love it, the set is a complete joy to use.

I would definitely recommend this for medium to coarse textured dry hair. It does say it’s suitable for coloured hair so I should imagine it is colour safe. The price is also very reasonable at £5.99 each for both shampoo and conditioner and is anothe Holland and Barrett find. It’s one of my favourite stores for great quality affordable products. You can find this in store and online.

Skin Pep Hydra Boost Pure Hyaluronic Serum

Hi beauties

I’ve got a great product today, the Skin Pep Hydra Boost Pure Hyaluronic Serum. Skin Pep is a cosmeceutical brand that I found on both eBay and Amazon. I originally discovered their Retinol serum and liked it, so I wanted to try more from the range.

This Hyaluronic Serum is a lovely texture, light and sinks in quickly.  It isn’t sticky like some can be and can be layered with other serums and oils. It’s one of those that plays well with others and does not pill or break up.

Hydra Boost does exactly what it says on the tube, it gives you a boost of hydration with no oiliness or sticky residue. A little goes a long way, if you used this day and night I think you would get a month to six weeks use out of the 30ml tube.

Also ridiculously affordable at £5.99 for 30ml, the largest tube is £12.49 for 70ml which is also great value. Available from Amazon and eBay.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Tulle

Hello beauties,

My love of matte liquid lipsticks is not waning at all, it’s my favourite texture as I detest gloss! I hadn’t tried Colourpop before, but it is a brand I’ve seen on Instagram a lot.

The colour is called Tulle, I love these deeper colours for this time of year. I don’t wear a lot of eye makeup so I do love a bold lip and this one definitely ticks the box for me. I found it really easy to apply, I make sure I have time to apply with bolder colours so there is less chance for mistakes. The colour glides on smoothly and the pigment covers well. I only put on one layer which I did wonder why this didn’t last long.

Colourpop didn’t last long at all on me, it came off really easily on a spoon when I was stuffing the cream topping off a hot chocolate (so like the Morphe, Colourpop didn’t pass the hot chocolate test!!) and I was so disappointed! By the time I had finished my drink, the colour was practically all gone. There was a hint of colour left on my cloth when I removed my makeup when I got home, but I personally would have to reapply after eating or drinking. The reason I go for matte liquid as they are supposed to last (Max Factor Lipfinity and Maybelline 24hour Colourstay last until I want to take them off at the end of the day or evening) Colourpop didn’t hold up to my favourites. Of course if I layer then I am sure it will be more durable, but for me this is a lippy I would have to take out with me.

I bought mine from eBay and it was £2.99, I am all about the eBay bargains! (I know there are a lot of people that don’t recommend buying from eBay, I have been very lucky and always had genuine items apart from one instance. I have been buying from here from at least 8 years, being on such a limited budget sucks!) Neither Boots or Superdrug sell Colourpop in my town and I am not sure they do in Oxford so that’s why I bought online. Even though Tulle didn’t quite live up to my expectations, I would try the brand again.

Lotta Skincare Botanical Beauty Balm

Hi beauty lovers,

I have a multi purpose product today by an independent brand, Lotta Skincare. Lotta is made by Charlotte who when starting her degree realised she could no longer afford the high end products she previously bought. As Charlotte studied Chemistry at university, she discovered what kind of chemicals were in conventional skincare, this led to three years making and testing her own products using natural ingredients that were beneficial for skin. Botanical Beauty Balm is one of her products.

Botanical Beauty Balm is multi use, you can use it as a cleanser as well as a moisturising balm for dry skin. I’ve used it as an overnight treatment on body, face and hands and I have to confess I love it!

The balm is Macadamia Seed Oil based with Sweet Almond, Coconut, Sunflower Seed Oils and beeswax. There are essential oils of Clove, Lavendin, Tea Tree and Geranium. It has a gorgeous texture, it is thick so you do have to warm it up by massaging into the skin. Perfect for as an overnight mask, Cuticle Treatment, Lip Balm, foot cream, any dry skin it Botanical Beauty Balm calms and hydrates your skin.

I love it, you only need a small amount as it is concentrated. I think the most surprising thing to me was the price, for 50g is £5.95 (plus shipping) it is SO affordable. You all know how much I love to find fantastic value for money, Lotta Skincare definitely offers that. Charlotte’s Night Owl Facial Oil is an extremely reasonable £15.95 for 45g. Check out her shop on etsy.com.
