The Organic Pharmacy Lip and Eye Cream

Hi beauties,

I have a product from The Organic Pharmacy today, their Lip and Eye Cream. This was a choice from a You Beauty Box, I have tried their hand cream before and liked it so wanted to try another from the range.

The Organic Pharmacy was started by Margo Marrone, a pharmacist that specialised in Herbal medicine who discovered homeopathy and whilst studying homeopathy came across the organic term and what it meant. Shocked at the level of pesticides used throughout food and questionable ingredients in cosmetics Margo wanted a place where people could find organic alternatives to their Skincare and Herbal remedies and The Organic Pharmacy was launched.

This dual purpose cream is nourishing for the delicate skin around the eyes and the lips. It’s one of the richest texture of cream I have tried for my eyes, it claims to reduce puffiness (I can’t comment on that as this isn’t something I suffer with), dark circles and help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Key ingredients are Eye Bright, Fennel, Bilberry, Aloe, Frankincense and Neroli though it isn’t highly perfumed. You only need a tiny amount, I find if I use too much especially on my lips it feels really greasy and heavy. It does help moisturise around the eye and lip, helps lines but I didn’t find any difference with my dark circles.

Lip wise, this is good. My lips get really chapped easily as I don’t like using lip balm. I find most feel too heavy and greasy especially high street ones that are mineral oil based. A couple of days of using this and my lips were much improved. My hesitation with this product is the price, it’s £26.95 for 10ml. Although you don’t need need much and it does two jobs, I can’t help but balk at that amount! Personally this isn’t as effective as Gatineau Melatogenine Eye Concentrate (my holy grail eye cream) as I find the effects of that last longer. You can get this from

Jane Scrivner OO Cream

Hi beauties,

I have Jane Scrivner OO (Over Oil) Cream today, I have been using this for a little while as my friend Nicola1847 (on Instagram) very kindly sent me a very generous sample.

OO Cream is different to many moisturisers I’ve tried before, it is a slightly thicker texture but when you rub it in your hands and apply it to your skin it becomes much finer and sinks in so easily. It contains colloidal oatmeal, Argan Oil, aloe Gel and Vitamin E, to lock in the previous layers of Skincare whether that includes oils or not (I’ve used it both ways) but I love using it in my evening routine as a night cream over facial oil.

Ingredients are: English spring water aqua, oat kernel extract avena sativa (o), aloe vera aloe barbadensis, sun flower helianthus annus (o), shea butter butyrospermum parkii (o), cetearyl alcohol (emollient from coconut)

argan argania spinosa (o), rose hip extract rosa canina (o), white birch betula pendula, glyceryl stearate (Coconut origin emulsifier), calendula calendula officinalis, phenylethyl alcohol natural (ecocert preservative), coco glucosides (coconut and fruit sugar thickening agent) eye bright (euphrasia officinalis), orange citrus aurantium (o), palmarosa cymbopogon martini, rose geranium pelargonium graveolens (o), tocopherol vitamin e, rose absolute rosa centefolia, vanilla vanilla plantifolia, benzoin styrax benzoin, sodium phytate (salt form of the corn derived phytic acid), sodium hydroxide, (alkaliser made by leaching ashes to maintain PH balance of materials) benzyl alcohol (plant derived preservative), *citral *euganol *geraniol *citronellol *farnesol *linalool *limonene *benzyl benzoate *benzyl cinnamate. *naturally occurring components of essential oils.

The fragrance is heavenly, Neroli, Palmarosa, Rose Geranium, Rose Absolute and Vanilla makes for a hypnotic and decadent scent. I adore it, and the best thing about OO Cream is that it lives up to its promises but while leaving your skin matte!

Please forgive scary morning face, this was the next morning after using Intense Oil and OO Cream. My skin is usually a complete greaseball in the mornings regardless of what I use, I was so impressed to see that amazing glow but not a greasy hot mess. I have also used this during the day and it has the same effect, radiant skin with no excess ugly shine.

OO Cream is also fabulous value, it’s £39.00 for a whopping 100ml. You need so very little you would get at least 6 months out of it and that would be using it twice a day. Hydra Floral from Decleor that I love is £41.00 for 50ml so I am sure you can appreciate the value there.

I would like to mention customer service, which is also brilliant. Jane is very active on Instagram, always answering questions and giving advice, nothing is too much trouble. She isn’t pushy at all, you can really tell she loves her job and wants people to get the best out of the products. I love supporting independent companies that show they care for their customers, the personal touch makes me feel so much more special.

You can find Jane’s products on her website

Hempz Age Defying Renewing Herbal Body Wash

Hi beauties

I have Hempz Age Defying Renewing Herbal Body Wash that was very kindly sent to me by Hannah from Catalyst PR.

Hempz uses 100% hemp seed oil which is known for its moisturising, balancing and Soothing properties so I was interested to test this body wash. As regular readers know, I have very dry skin on my body which is prone to eczema so I am always on the lookout for body washes that are more conditioning and without the dreaded SLS that makes my skin worse.

Hempz is quite a thick body wash, you don’t need much as it’s very concentrated, a 50p piece sized amount is all I use in the shower. It has a really pleasant herby, musky smell, I usually hate the smell of hemp (especially The Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream – it makes me feel sick) so I was surprised I liked it! It’s very refreshing but it doesn’t linger so if you want to follow up with your fragrance it won’t clash.

The result of using this body wash has left my skin soft, definitely smoother, the rough patches I have had have improved and my skin feels so comfortable after a shower. I can even go without body lotion if I’m in a rush. It has been my go to body wash, I tend to reach for Hempz more than others I have open at the moment. It is ideal for those with dry skin. It’s £16.99 for 250ml and available from

Decleor Micellar Oil

Hi beauties

As you all know, I am obsessed with oils and obsessed with cleansers so I just had to try Decleor Micellar Oil.

I got this in a Decleor Today’s Special Value a while ago and was being good and using some other cleansers up before opening this. I’ve been testing it now for some time so it’s time to let you know what I think.

I love Oil cleansers, I find they get rid of grease, grime and makeup really effectively without stripping and Decleor Micellar Oil is no different.

Ingredients: Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, PEG-20,Glyceryl Trisostearate, Vegetal Squalene (derived from Olive Oil), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Fragrance, Benzyl Salicylate, BHT.

The fragrance is a strong floral so obviously is fragrance isn’t your thing for whatever reason, this is not for you. I like pretty smells and I’m not adversely affected by essential oils or fragrance so I’m lucky in that sense. I use two pumps to cover my face and neck, sometimes I emulsify it and sometimes not it depends on what I feel like on the day! I’ve also used it in the shower and rinsed it off so it’s a versatile cleanser.

If you are on the look out for an oil cleanser you couldn’t go wrong with Micellar Oil. It’s £26.00 for 150ml available currently at £17.40 from Look Fantastic.

Bagsy Wow Lips Full Colour Chubby Stick Ready To Wear

Hi beauties,

I have a gorgeous lip colour today, Wow Lips Full Colour Chubby Stick from Bagsy.

If you haven’t heard about Bagsy, they are a British brand, making capsule makeup pieces that are designed to fit into your handbag. Wow Lips was one of the options in my You Beauty Box, and lippies being my favourite makeup item after nail polish I chose this.

The colour is called Ready to Wear, it’s an unusual colour that doesn’t photograph true unfortunately. It’s a rosy-coral called Ready To Wear which is not a shade I would go for, however it is so beautiful I’m so glad I did.

Wow Lips is a moisturising lip colour, ingredients are: Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Octyldodecanol, Pentaerythriyl Tetraisostearate, Ceresin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Mica, Paraffin, Isostearyl Isostearate, Cera Alba, Cera Microcristallina, Nylon-12, Aroma, Candelilla Cera, Tocopheryl Acetate, Silica, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Talc, Cera Carnauba, PEG-8, Synthetic Wax, Tocopherol, Propylene Carbonate, Polyethylene, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Limonene, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, BHT, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 15850.

On the website it states that Wow Lips is a gloss, it does have a sheen but not the traditional shiny texture a lipgloss has. It also lasted quite well, if you are eating and drinking you would need to reapply.

I love this lip colour and another great thing is the price. It’s so affordable at £12.00, it feels lovely on your lips and feels luxury. Wow Lips is available in 3 shades from

B. Radiant Overnight Mask

Hi beauties

It’s the turn of B. Radiant Overnight Mask today, I got this a while ago in a haul from Superdrug and was interested to try another overnight mask.

It’s a part of Skin Phase 2 which is for your late 30s and says this mask is “Advanced skin perfector that supercharges your skin as you sleep”. Overnight mask has Niacinamide and Panthenol to perfect the skin tone and add moisture to skin. It offers 12 hour hydration, improves skin elasticity and minimises the look of lines and wrinkles. You put this on over your other Skincare, wait ten minutes and then go to bed.

The texture is like a thick, stiff gel, but like nothing you have ever felt before.

It is utterly revolting! I have tried this Mask about 3 times but I simply can’t use it any more. It’s hideous! If the texture wasn’t off-putting enough the mask feels really sticky when you have applied it. My skin didn’t feel that different except greasy the next morning. The smell is quite fresh, but very overpowering.

This is the second or third overnight mask I’ve tried and I haven’t liked any of them. I just don’t think they are for me. If you have very dry skin then perhaps this might be for you, if the texture doesn’t bother you. I have to say mine has already gone in the bin, this is so awful I wouldn’t destash it and give it to my best friend. However, if you do want to try it for yourself, it’s available from Superdrug at £11.99.

Until next time,
