I am giddy with excitement about this post as I have something very special, Balmology Discovery Set.
Balmology is a UK brand that lives just outside Cheltenham in the Cotswolds (it’s actually 30 miles from the town where I live!) it’s a natural brand with a small portfolio of products, 3 balms and a facial oil. I was introduced to the brand by two Instafriends, Isabella who is a fan of the Hot Cloth Cleansing and Nourishing Beauty Balm and Victoria who is a facialist in Oxfordshire who uses the products at work in facials and also in her own routine.
I was desperate to try the brand and was so pleased to see they do a discovery kit with the Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm, Soothing Comfort Balm and their Nourishing Beauty Balm, all in a handy tube that is great for travelling.
Anyhoo, onto the products. As soon as my postie dropped this package off with me I went to cleanse straight away even though I had done my regime for that morning! I started with the Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm which is scented with Neroli and Basil. It has a beautiful, sweet (but not sickly) herby scent, it’s not an emulsifying Balm which I will be honest is my preference as I’m oily, so I did another swipe round after removing to make sure there wasn’t residue left. My skin felt so soft and clean afterwards, gorgeous! The base of the balm is Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Avocado Oil, Apricot Oil and Beeswax with essential oils of Mandarin, Neroli and Sweet Basil. Really simple, natural and effective ingredients for lovely clean skin.
Next I tried the Soothing Comfort Balm, I had used a very active product the night before and I had some extremely dry, red and sore patches so I applied this all over my face and lips (the corners of my mouth were so flaky and sore!) I only needed a little so my skin didn’t look greasy, and I didn’t feel like I had a heavy product on. In fact I had forgotten, and it was only when I looked in the mirror a few hours later I knew I applied it as the results were so quick! This balm definitely lives up to its name and it really soothed my skin very quickly, it also reduced the redness and by the next day (when using it again in my evening routine) the irritation was practically gone. This is a true star product and I will definitely be purchasing a full size. The base of this balm is Apricot Oil, Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Calendula, Rosehip oil, Marigold extract, Chamomile, with essential oils of Lavender and Immortelle Oil. I really noticed a refinement of the texture of my skin, it was much smoother and plumped out. This is a multi purpose balm everyone should have.
The last product is the Nourishing Beauty Balm, again another that lives up to its name! It really is nourishing and hydrating, beautiful, Silky texture that melts into your skin and smells divine! I have used this alone and layered it will other products if I feel I need a boost. I have always woken up with smooth and comfortable skin. Nourishing Balm feels as good as the Soothing Balm, they are high on hydration and nourishment but they aren’t greasy or heavy. The base is Jojoba Oil, Apricot Oil, Beeswax, Macadamia Oil, Avocado Oil, Pomegranate Oil, Rosehip Oil, with essential oils of Neroli, Frankincense, Mandarin and Lavender. The ingredients for all balms are similar, but each recipe is different depending on what you need.
This travel/discovery set is £21.50 for all three pots and each pot contains 15ml so excellent value. I love Decleor Neroli Balm but I feel I get more results and benefits from Balmology. The full sizes are all 50ml in size, Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm is £27.00, Soothing Comfort Balm is £24.00 and Nourishing Beauty Balm is £29.00. I think you get great value for money as you don’t need to use huge amounts of any balm so they would last you months and you can use them on your body if you wish to.
A big thank you to Isabella and Victoria for bringing this brand to my attention, I am over the moon with the products and I really like that it’s a UK company that’s reasonably local to me, using natural ingredients for wonderful results.
Till next time,
