Another haul from The Ordinary to show you today, I’ve bought a few products before from the brand and have been very impressed so I wanted to try out some more.
I chose to get:
- Matrixyl 10% + HA
- 100% Cold Pressed Morrocan Argan Oil
- Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA
Matrixyl is for lines and wrinkles so I’m testing it under my eyes and necklace lines.
The Argan Oil I’m testing on hair and skin, I’ve used a few other brands of Argan so I want to see how it stands up.
Vitamin C, I have seen a lot of reviews about this particular formula as it is an unusual one. It has a gritty kind of texture so I am not sure how I will get on with this one! I am desperately trying to find an Vitamin C serum that I like, fingers crossed!
I will be reviewing each product individually and they will be up on the blog soon.
Till next time,
I love sheet masks, I think they are a bit of fun as well as a pampering treat and the Daybright Glow Brightening Sheet Mask from Amie Skincare is no disappointment.
This mask is so hydrating! It’s drenched in essence and there is a surplus in the packaging (which I always use after the Treatment) so it’s very generous. The material is lovely and soft and I find Amie’s mask a really good fit. I have a small (albeit chubby!) face and some masks are absolutely huge. All you need to do is unwrap it and pop it on for 15-20 minutes. I left mine on for nearly an hour (I got distracted watching Tom Hardy in Taboo..! 😂) and even though it was getting a little dry around the edges the majority of it was still moist.
It has ingredients like Licorice root and coffee to brighten, Indian lotus extract and Provitamin B5 to nourish the skin. I definitely see a brightening effect after use and it’s lovely to use. Although there is plenty of essence in the mask, it doesn’t drip so you won’t get any on your clothes or all over your bathroom! I use the excess in the package afterwards by patting into my skin once I’ve taken the mask off so there is no wastage. My skin feels so cool and soothed after using this mask. It isn’t oily or greasy and I usually wait for the serum to be all absorbed before finishing my routine. Like other Amie products I have tried such as the Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash (Budget Beauty) this mask was a real pleasure to use.
Amie Daybright Glow Brigtening Sheet Masks come in a pack of three for £6.99 which is great value, they are available from Waitrose and from http://www.amieskincare.com.
Till next time,
This was an impulse purchase before Christmas, Waitrose is my most local grocery store and I find they really upping their health and beauty game with the brands they are offering.
This is Senspa The Spa’s Secret Facial Oil, I think everyone knows of my love of oils because they have such a powerful impact on the skin. This oil has the combination of Sunflower Seed Oil, Soyabean Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil with gorgeous essential oils of Sweet Orange, Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, Badderlocks seaweed, Green Tea, Jasmine and Vitamin E.
The Spa’s Secret Facial Oil is a beautiful light Oil which sinks into the skin so easily, it is perfect for daytime use as it doesn’t leave a greasy, heavy feeling. The citrus uplifting scent is subtle and it doesn’t linger so if you don’t like heavily fragranced product this may be one for you.
Perfect to layer, I’ve used water based serums underneath with no roll off and moisturisers go on top for extra hydration. This is a gorgeous product and it really suits my skin type which is more on the oily side, only a few drops is all you need. It’s a real pleasure to use and I actually think it performs well against more expensive oils I have used before such as Liz Earle Superskin.
The most astonishing thing is the price for a generous 30ml bottle, the regular price is £12.99, however I picked this up on offer for under £9.00. I think this product is great quality and excellent value even at the regular retail price, I love picking up a bargain! If you are on the lookout for a new facial oil, you can’t go far wrong with Senspa. It’s available in Waitrose stores and online and also http://www.senspa.co.uk
Till next time,
I have another manicure today, using one of the newer Barry M colours Bronze Bae and OPI Espresso Your Style which is a favourite of mine.
Bronze Bae is part of the metals collection from Barry M and I must say I prefer the bronze and copper to the traditional gold and silver. I think it makes a nice change.
Espresso Your Style goes well as it has that kind of gold-bronzey undertones to it, it’s a rich metallic that I love to wear in Autumn/Winter time. The metallic lifts it and makes it more interesting, personally I don’t think brown cremes quite have the same impact.
Both formulas are lovely to work with, Barry M’s brush is fabulous as it’s Cuticle shaped and really easy to use, there’s hardly any need for cleanup with this type of brush. Wear time is also a good 4 days for me before I get bored and have to change colour.
I really liked this combination, I feel these two colours complement each other well.
Till next time
If you have read the blog or my Instagram before you will know I’m a fan of Dr Organic as a brand, so today I have the Dead Sea Mineral Face Wash.
Dr Organic is a great brand and one I feel that is completely underrated, I found it one day when I was in Holland and Barrett with the other half and I’ve tried various products from their ranges.
As the name suggests the ingredients are natural based, Dead Sea Minerals have been used for many years in cosmetics, they are known for helping inflammation and supposedly good for painful joints as well as retaining moisture in the skin.
This face wash is really gorgeous, it’s a light Gel texture and you only need a tiny bit. A tube lasts me about 5 months so it’s great value, I don’t use it to remove makeup it’s a morning/second cleanse for me and my skin never feels stripped afterwards. It’s very gentle so perfect for my oily skin type, I would say this is best for oily/combo skins, for drier skins it may not be for you. It has a lovely light fresh ocean fragrance, I always feel refreshed after using this face wash, this is actually perfect in the summer months.
Dead Sea Mineral Face wash has Dead Sea Mineral Salt, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Bladderwrack Extract, Kelp Extract, Bitter Orange Leaf Oil, Mandarin Peel Oil, Pine Needle Oil, Thyme Flower Oil, Wild Mint Oil, Spearmint Oil and Vitamin C. Even though it does have essential oils I have used this over my eyes with no stinging or discomfort at all so great for a quick cleanse in the shower which is how I use it. I think this would be a great Cleanser for teens and younger people to start off with.
Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Face Wash is available from Holland and Barrett at £8.29 for a 200ml tube.
Till next time,
Today I have a little Skincare gem, Secret Key Snow White Skin Booster. This is an essence which are huge in Korean Skincare circles, the best way I can describe it is a Liquid moisturiser.
Secret Key is a Korean brand, they have a lot of Skincare and makeup ranges, I have reviewed an eye cream from the range that I was very impressed by Secret Key Starting Treatment Eye Cream . The ingredients include moisturising agents such as Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Grapeseed Oil Extract, and brightening agents Pearl Powder, Arbutin, Glutathiaone and Niacinamide.
I bought this to help with pigmentation, I haven’t noticed much difference in brown spots but where I think this works is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, in other words, the red marks that are left on your skin after a pesky pimple has arrived. This silky lotion has a fresh but not overpowering fragrance, I find this great for my oily skin to add hydration without heavy or greasy creams. Also, it has lasted me for MONTHS and I’ve only used a quarter of the bottle. It is a huge 152ml size and as you only need a few drops for face and neck, in my estimation it would be 6 months or more supply.
I mainly use this in the morning, but I have used it twice a day when I do need an extra layer, it sinks in so quickly, it is a liquid. Shake a few drops into the palm of your hand (don’t use cotton wool, you will waste product) and pat it into your skin.
I love it! I bought mine from a shop on eBay I think it only took 10 days to arrive from South Korea (also NO custom charges – whoo hoo!!) which I think is actually very quick. I find that they give you a delivery window of about a month, it never takes that long. There are UK sellers, but they are generally more expensive, I paid £10.25 for mine which is excellent value. If you haven’t tried an essence, do a bit of reasearch and give one a go, it may seem like an unecessary extra step in your routine, personally I think the benetfits far outweigh the few seconds it takes to pat into your skin.
Till next time,
