Decleor Aroma Nutrition Satin Softening Dry Oil

Hi beauties

Today is a review for the Decleor Aroma Nutrition Satin Softening Dry Oil that I received in my Decleor 4 Piece Summer Ready Skincare Collection. This is a multi purpose oil that you can use on face, body and hair.

I’m going to come right out and say I love this oil! No surprise there for all you regualr readers, but this is a beautiful versatile hardworking product. In a base of Sweet Almond and Camelia Oils, it has a gorgeous fragrance of Frankincense and Rose. It’s a delicate scent, woody and floral at the same time, I think some guys would like to use this as I don’t think it is overtly girly.

Aroma Nutrition is a dry oil it doesn’t leave you greasy, I have used it on face, body and hair. Frankincense is great for anti ageing so it can be used regularly as a face treatment, it sinks in well to the skin so easily and you don’t need much making it so economical. I used it with moisturiser over the top and my skin felt very comfortable and not overloaded in any way. For an extra hydrating treat use a layer of oil underneath your favourite moisturising mask!

As a body oil it is fantastic for my dry and awkward skin, great on my eczema patches and stops my skin from being so flaky, itchy and sore. I’ve used Decleor Systeme Corp Body milk over the top and it really is a brilliant combination. Great as a hand and cuticle oil too.

For hair, this fabulous silky oil I think less is more! I have short hair so I only use one pump between both palms and smoothed it through my hair. Blow dry time was that wee bit quicker and my hair was so soft and felt conditioned all day. You can also pop it in before shampooing as intensive treatment as well.

Using this oil is very enjoyable, I adore the woody, spicy fragrance, I find it very relaxing especially in an evening. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a multi tasking product that is also economical, Aroma Nutrition Satin Softening Oil is available in a great duo with Syteme Corp Body Milk from for an introductory price of £39.96.

1001 Remedies Magic Skin Repair Gel

Hello beauties

I have a product from a new brand to me today 1001 Remedies Magic Skin Repair Gel. I received this in my April 2016 Blogger Beauty Box and I was intrigued as I hadn’t heard of the brand before.

1001 Remedies was created by Sofia who after having her daughter was concerned about their wellbeing, living in London and subjected to the usual daily stresses of city living. Sofia had grown up in Morocco and remembered her uncle who owned an apothecary and was an aromatherapist, creating remedies from natural sources of plants, flowers and essential oils. Sofia then approached a French aromatherapy laboratory in the hope that she would be able to create products that would enhance wellbeing.

Magic Skin Repair Gel is in fact a lotion rather than a gel and is packed with essential oils of Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum and Rock Rose. The scent is absolutely divine! I have oily skin and suffer with hormonal breakouts along my jawline, so when the little blighters popped up I thought I would give this a try.

Directions on the tube say apply directly to the imperfections on your skin, I actually replaced my moisturiser I was using and used this instead all over my skin. Myrrh is a very effective anti inflamatory, antimicrobial and antifungal ingredient, Helichrysum is a natural ingredient to help bruises and the Rock Rose is antiseptic and astringent. I noticed that my blemishes disappeared very quickly and the oiliness especially on my nose wasn’t as prevalent. Literally in two days, using it day and night I saw these improvements. I wasn’t expecting Magic Skin to work so fast, I was very impressed! Also, this is very moisturising so my skin wasn’t dried out that you can get with traditional treatments.

Magic Skin Repair Gel is a very pleasurable product to use, I found it easy to slot into my routine. It sinks into your skin quickly leaving no residue at all. It’s also very cooling and fresh so great in this humid and muggy weather. I instantly felt more relaxed after I had applied it! This product is a brilliant treatment and extremely effective, it’s a generous 35ml tube and even using a moisturiser all over my face I was only using a 10p sized amount so I think it would last a long time. It is important that you use sunscreen with this product too, I used it after my Ultrasun Face 50 day cream in the morning.

Magic Skin Repair Gel is available from, the usual price is £32.00. It’s currently on offer with 30% off for £22.40.

Dames and Dimes Nail & Cuticle Balm

Hi beauties,

New brand and new product alert!! It’s so exciting when I come across a new to me brand so when Dames & Dimes followed me on Instagram I followed back and discovered them.

Dames & Dimes are a UK niche skincare brand making natural products without synthetics, finding that natural ingredients like cocoa butter, shea butter and beeswax are so beneficial for skin helping your skin to perform at its best. Each product is hand made in small batches and I really love the quirky, unusual packaging.

I bought the Nail & Cuticle Balm, the ingredients are:

Macadamia ternifolia (macadamia) seed oil, Cera alba (organic beeswax), Helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, Calendula officinalis extract (calendula), Theobroma cacao (organic cocoa) butter, Mangifera indica (mango) butter, Tocopherol acetate (vitamin e), Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) Leaf oil, Coumarin, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool.

I loved the sound of this balm, natural, rich and hydrating ingredients and scented with gorgeous essential oils of Lavender, Tea Tree and Rosemary. What I wasn’t expecting is that due to the cocoa butter it also has a chocolaty fragrance! It sounds strange, but honestly it really is lovely.

It has a beautiful soft texture, making it easy to scoop a wee bit out, (no having to circle round and round the pot trying to get some product!) a little goes a long way so you don’t need a lot. However, I do slather it all over my hands at night and put on cotton gloves on. Not sexy but god you get super soft hands and hydrated nails.

I’m pretty hard on my nails, I change my colour frequently, when I wash up and clean I don’t wear gloves. The previous few days before I received the balm I had been very lax with the cuticle oil so my nails were a bit drier than usual. After 4 uses (twice a day for 2 days) the results were excellent, my nails were so much more hydrated and also that moisture was kept in my nails for longer. A tiny bit (like this below) does 2 of my nails. At night time I am more generous, but that small amount will mean your nails and cuticles are hydrated and you don’t feel like you have put any product on.

I can hand on heart say Dames & Dimes Nail & Cuticle Balm is totally lush! It’s an amazing balm that has really made a huge difference to my nails and cuticles in literally 2 days. I should also mention the size and value, it comes in a very generous filled to the brim 60g pot for £9.00. I know you can get cheaper balms, but in my experience they usually have mineral oils in which as I am sure you know I hate lol. This is a brilliant, natural product that lives up to it’s claims.

The next on my list to try is their whipped body butter (they also do a body scrub and foot scrub) and if it’s anything like this wee gem I am sure I will love it!

Dames & Dimes Nail & Cuticle Balm is available from and is £8.95 for 60g.

OPI Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection

Hi lovelies,

I have a fabulous collection today the OPI 6 Piece Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection. I bought this collection as part of the OPI 20th Anniversary celebrations on QVC.

The set contains:

  • 15ml Samoan Sand Nude Nail Envy
  • 15ml Original Nail Envy
  • Fearlessly Alice – a beautiful bold blue
  • Mad For Madness Sake – a hot pink
  • A Mirror Escape – A gold textured glitter
  • What’s The Hatter With You – deep berry burgundy

I am a huge Nail Envy fan, I have been using it for over 20 years and I credit it to keeping my nails in such good condition. I am able to grow them to a good length, they are strong but still keep a level of flexibility which you don’t get from many nail stregtheners. The colours are stunning, see the swatches below.

Samoan Sand Nail Envy – 3 coats no topcoat

Mad for Madness Sake – 2 coats no topcoat

A Mirror Escape – 2 coats and no topcoat

What’s the Hatter With You – 2 coats no topcoat

Fearlessly Alice – 2 coats with 2 coats of basecoat no topcoat. A word of warning with this one: it stains. Badly. I had to break out my heavy duty coffee scrub to get the staining off, so I would recommend 2 coats of basecoat at least.

This is a fabulous value collection, each Nail Envy is £19.50 each and lacquers £12.50 making this set worth £89.00 directly from OPI and I don’t think you get the box. It is available from for £29.88 plus P&P.

Tropic Skincare Sun Drops

Hi lovelies,

I got these Tropic Skincare Sun Drops from my April 2016 Blogger Beauty Box I am not hugely into self tan but I was intrigued with these drops.

Tropic Skincare was created by Susan Ma, winner of The Apprentice in 2010. Susan started her beauty business aged 15 by making Tropic’s Body Smooth Polish in her kitchen and first selling in Greenwich Market in London. The brand formally launched in 2012 with Lord Sugar and has a range of skincare, bodycare and makeup.

Sun Drops are a gradual tanning facial serum that you add to your moisturiser to create a healthy glow. I used three drops in an evening to my Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream that I was using in my daily routine, I only needed to use it 2 nights running to see a difference in my skin tone. The ingredient listing is: Aloe Vera Juice, Coconut Water, Sugar Beet DHA Skin Tanner, Plant Allo-Melanin, Plant Derived Humectant, Vegetable Glycerin, Jojoba Esters, Plant Erythrulose, Caramel, Radish Root Extract, Passion Fruit Extract, Corn Sugar Derived Gum, Gentle Preservatives from Basil and Star Anise, Lactic Acid, Phytic Acid. I like that is more of a natural based product, they are hydrating so don’t dry out your skin.

I do like these drops, the only thing is that it makes my pigmentation look worse and more muddy. Unfortunately this is mostly all over my forehead and under my cheeks, but the clearer parts of my skin, my neck and decollette did look much improved. I am very pale and I burn so easily so I don’t like to spend a lot of time in the sun. I also wear high SPF when I am outside as well.

This is the first time I have tried this formula of gradual tan and I have to say I am very impressed! The colour is very natural, it really does look like a real tan. I used to use St Tropez on a regular basis years ago and in my opinion this is better. You don’t have to do any of the exfoliation and usual preparation you would usually do with a traditional self tan making Sun Drops so easy to use. Also you are using a small amount so the bottle would last a long time. If you so wished you could add them into your body lotion for body application, you may just use a couple of extra drops per area. The glow this product gives your skin is beautiful and I can’t believe how real the effect is. If you are looking for an easy facial self tan with a you cannot go wrong with Sun Drops.

Sun Drops are £22.00 and available from

Nails of The Day

Hi lovelies,

Today’s Nails of The Day are OPI Tickle My Francey and Barry M Diamond. Tickle My Francey is a beautiful brown/pink neutral shade from OPI’s French collection and it’s a neutral I really enjoy wearing.

As I have such a pale pinky based skin tone, I can struggle to find nude shades that are flattering. Some are too beige and some too grey but this one is perfect. It doesn’t matter how long my nails are, this colour always makes them look groomed and smart, it’s one of those shades you can wear all year round and with any colour outfit. The formula is great too, complete opacity in 2 coats which I love. Pale colours can be thin and streaky and difficult to build up to look decent, no such problem with this one.

Barry M Diamond is a delicate glitter with small to medium sized particles, the sparkle is so beautiful at this time of year. It’s one of my favourite glitters, it’s versatile and you can build it up if you want a bolder look. Barry M are fantastic for glitters, they are brilliantly priced and they last so long. My best friend can get 2 weeks of wear from a Barry M glitter manicure and working in retail she isn’t easy on her hands at all!

I had so many compliments on this combination on my Instagram page, it was quite the hit! I would definitely recommend this colour if you want to be pale and interesting this summer :o)

Liz Earle Step In To Superskin TSV

Hi lovelies,

I’ve another recent TSV from QVCUK and Liz Earle, 4 Piece Step Into Superskin. Regular readers will know that many products from Liz Earle are staples for me and this collection is ideal. It contains:

  • 200ml pump Cleanse & Polish
  • 200ml bottle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
  • 15ml bottle of Superskin Eye Cream
  • 50ml jar of Superskin Moisturiser Original or with Natural Neroli

The exciting thing about this offer was the inclusion of the newly launched Superskin Eye cream. I have been hearing great things about this so I can’t wait to try it. I am being good at the moment and using my current eye product up before I open it!

Also you had a choice of the Original moisturiser or the Natural Neroli version, I chose the fragranced option as it’s so beautiful. I have oily skin but I really enjoy using this moisturiser, not only for the gorgeous scent. It is rich and luxurious although not greasy and my skin reacts well to it. I use it as a night cream in the warmer months and when it comes to winter time and it’s very cold I can use it during the day time too.

Cleanse & Polish and Instant Boost Skin Tonic are total staples for me and both are a joy to use. I have used both for many years now, Cleanse & P0lish features in my daily skincare routines that I post on Instagram (@lucydorling1980 if you want to take a nose through what I use!) and I so love using it. My skin always feels so clean and comfortable and I love the refreshing fragrance. Instant Boost Skin Tonic I decant into a spray bottle, I much prefer using toners in this way as I find it easier. The scent is amazing and I always feel so fresh and uplifted afterwards.

This set is perfect, Superskin is a luxury collection, separately both the moisturiser and eye cream are out of my usual budget so I always appreciate QVC’s pricing that enables me to enjoy these wonderful products on a daily basis.

On Saturday 16th July there is another TSV featuring the Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise with Skin Repair Moisturiser with Shampoo & Conditioner and Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash, the set is also available on Auto Delivery. Tune into QVC from 12am and throughout the day.

Till next time,
