For my birthday my other half bought me the fabulous OPI 8 Piece New Orleans Nailcare Collection that was a TSV on QVCUK on the 8th of March.
This collection is colour and treatment, making sure you have your staples but giving you new colour from the Spring/Summer 2016 New Orleans collection. Here was what was included:
- Original Nail Envy 15ml full size
- Hawaiian Orchid (Pink) Nail Envy 15ml full size
- Avoplex Nail & Cuticle Oil 15ml full size
- Avojuice Hand and Body Lotion in Sweet Lemon Sage 250ml full size
- She’s a Bad Muffeletta a coral creme colour shade in 15ml full size
- Rich Girls & Po Boys a beautiful creme blue shade in 15ml full size
- I Manicure For Beads a creme purple colour in 15ml full size
- Humidi-Tea a nude apricot shimmer shade in 15ml full size
I swear by Nail Envy and Avoplex which I’ve been using for over 20 years so I always appreciate these two in a TSV so I don’t run out. I also do love the Hawaiian Orchid (Pink) Nail Envy too when I want to wear colour but still have the full strength treatment. The colour goes well with polishes I already have in my collection so I do mix and match. A new hand cream is always a welcome addition, this lotion is very light and moisturises well.
I loved the colours included, see swatches below:

Rich Girls & Po Boys
I Manicure For Beads
This set was fantastic, not a product I wouldn’t use and the colours are so beautiful and vibrant. It is still available from qvcuk.com at a great price of £36.28.

This Works Deep Sleep Dream Cream compliments This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray beautifully, I use this as my bedtime hand cream to help me wind down and get ready for bed.
The Dream Cream has the same signature scent of Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert which is so soothing, this is a light cream but extremely hydrating. Containing Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Camelina Oil and UK sourced Crambe Oil these emollients help restore hydration, nourishes your skin and the essential oils makes it a wonderful soporific boost you need at bedtime. You can also use it as a body and foot lotion, I keep it for hands due to the 75ml size. For a rich hand treatment I use the matching body oil first on hands and cuticles and apply the cream over the top and wear some cotton gloves.
I love essential oils and I am firm believer in aromatherapy, this cream soothes my hands and helps to calm my mind. Lavender is traditionally known as a calming scent, Vetivert is known as “the oil of tranquillity and Camomile is a relaxing scent and also calming for skin. Other oils included are Patchouli which is heady and luxurious and Ho Wood which has a Cinnamon/Camphor type scent that gives the cream a real woody spicy undertone that isn’t overpowering.
This cream is a staple at bedtime, is so wonderful for my skin and my soul. This Works Deep Sleep Dream Cream is available from thisworks.com and is £18.00 for 75ml. I ordered mine in December 2015 and as I only use it once a day is still going strong.
Till next time,
I am revisiting this primer as I think I was unduly harsh on it before and as it turns out I was actually using this incorrectly. Kiko Mat Base Corrector is a very good primer for someone with oily skin.
It was only when I saw a matte primer being demonstrated on QVC I realised that I was applying it straight onto my skin. The effect of this was it was going into my pores turning them white and really obvious. The trick to this is warming up a small amount in your hands before patting it on to your skin instead of rubbing it on your face. The primer then is applied correctly, you can’t see it and it soaks up oil well.
Once changed my technique my makeup applied so much easily, it smooths out giving a good matte base for both liquid and mineral powder foundation. Unfortunately there isn’t any directions on the packaging for application, it was only by chance that I tried it in this way. I’m glad I tried it as it is the best primer for me whether I wear makeup or not.
So that’s it! It’s amazing what happens when you actually use a product correctly lol.

I will be honest and say when I first tried Necta Perfecta Beautifying Mask, I didn’t really see the point of it. I tried it as a face mask and I didn’t see a remarkable difference in my skin even though I left it on for half an hour.
As it states it was an enzyme mask I thought it would be as good as my favourite Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel unfortunately it isn’t. However, I was wrong to write it off so quickly. This mask is created using 5 different enzymes from Orange, Lemon and Bilberries to gently exfoliate and reduce fine lines. It also contains oils of Camelina, Wheatgerm that are rich in Vitamin E to promote elasticity. Beeswax, Jojoba Wax, Mimosa and Sunflower help with hydration. Honey and Propolis are used for antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
I tried this on my hands and feet and it was these uses that changed my mind about the mask, your skin does feel super soft and smooth after you have used it. As I don’t really have dry skin on my face it was difficult for me to tell the exfoliating result so I think drier or mature skin would probably get a more wow factor. For me I would use this more as a hydrating treament.
So it is versatile and mulitasking product and who doesn’t like those?! Necta Perfecta is available from http://www.qvcuk.cm for £35.00 for 100ml.
Till next time,
*I received a sample size of the mask in my QVCUK Beauty Bash goody bag.
Today I have a Liz Earle Superskin Hand Serum to tell you about, I love the Superskin range and this serum is a great addition to the collection.
Superskin was created by Liz Earle as an alternative for mature or very dry skin there is a number of products now in the range, I adore Superskin Concentrate and the Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser with Neroli. There is now a Serum and Eye cream which I am desperate to try!
Superskin Hand Serum is a very light lotion texture that spreads very easily, it is rich in organic Rosehip Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Pomegranate extract and Kigelia Extract. These ingredients contain GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid) Omega 3 and antioxidants that are great for moisturisation and help keep your hands protected.
It sinks into your skin quickly and is not greasy and of course like all Liz Earle products you don’t need much to get a result. It plumps and smooths your hands making them soft and hydrated . For me I smell the Rosehip Oil more than the Neroli, Lavender and Chamomile which is very earthy, it isn’t quite as sweet smelling as other Superskin products.
Even though the fragrance doesn’t live up to it’s name, this is a luxurious treatment that is excellent for dry skin. It’s light texture means you could layer it at night with Hand Repair or another favourite hand cream for an intensive boost.
Superskin Hand Treatment is available from uk.lizearle.com for 75ml at £18.75.
Till next time,
I have written about this balm before in my Cleansing Balms Comparison post, but this product is so awesome it deserves a review of it’s own.
I’ve been wanting to try Melting Cleansing Balm for such a long time and Merumaya very kindly sent me a tube. I have been so converted to balm cleansing and I had collected a few pots for my comparison, however with long nails using balms from a pot can be a little annoying. This isn’t the only reason why Melting Cleansing Balm is so enjoyable to use.
Merumaya say they redefined the cleansing balm category and I totally agree. The balm is a more liquid texture, so no rubbing in your hands to warm up it is literally ready to go as soon as you have squeezed some from the tube. The fragrance is divine, it smooths over your face extremely easily and it emulsifies! I love that it turns into a rich milk when added with water, although you don’t have to it is my favourite way of using it.
The ingredient listing is impressive, I like to use cleansers without ingredients such as petroleum and paraffin liquidium. The base is Sweet Almond Oil and Echium Oil which are full of Omega 3,6 and 9 that are so beneficial to skin. Antioxidants help protect your skin from the environment and leave your skin feeling beautifully hydrated. The gorgeous scent is from essential oils, however they are not overpowering and I use the balm over my eyes with no irritation.
The product removes makeup, dirt and grime so easily without stripping your skin, you can use it as a face wash and rinse off in the shower or use with a hot cloth. I love this because of it’s versatility, quality, results and packaging. Very easy to use from the tube and I find it better to travel with, as it doesn’t take up much room so you don’t have to compromise on your skincare routine when you go away.
I have to point out the value as for such a premium product, the price is bonkers! You get a huge 100ml tube for £16.50, if I wasn’t wowed by the balm already it was confirmed by the such affordable price. There is nothing worse for me than finding a stunning product and then not being able to afford to continue using it. This will definitely be replaced when my current tube runs out. Melting Cleansing Balm is available from http://www.merumaya.com.
Till next time,
I have a great collection to share with you today, Decleor 4 Piece Moisture Infusion Skincare Collection which was a TSV on QVCUK on 26 March.
What was so exciting was the launch of the new Hydra Floral Anti Pollution Active Hydrating Lotion. A bit of a mouth full I know and it doesn’t really explain what it is. In the bottle is a fluid that looks like a toner but is in fact a liquid moisturiser! This did confuse me and I did question how that would work. It’s a really innovative formula that fits in with the other products in the collection.
So first of all is Aromessence Neroli, I adore this serum it is absolutely heavenly to use. It’s great if you are dehydrated and need moisture regardless of your skin type. You use 3 drops and smooth it onto your skin.
After Neroli comes this new Hydrating Lotion that I have completely fallen in love with. It is what I call immense! It plumps up your skin and adds moisture without being greasy. Due to its texture, it sinks in immediately leaving your skin feeling so insanely soft and comfortable. If you have oily skin like me these two will probably be enough hydration for you during the day. If you have a drier skin type you can follow these two steps with the Hydra Floral Light Moisturiser. I only use the lotion in the mornings as I have quite a lot of night treatments and I don’t want to waste it if I don’t really need it twice a day.
Please forgive me shouting, but I LOVE Hydra Floral! My ultimate favourite moisturiser was Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream and I still do like it, but since trying Hydra Floral I am a complete Decleor convert. The texture is gorgeous and the fragrance is divine. I use it at night and my skin feels beautiful. It truly is a stunning moisturiser. It is a beautifully light texture and literally melts into my skin, due to my skin type I don’t need very much. I am trying to get out of the habit of “dotting” so I use less product as to not overload my skin and waste product.
The last product is the Systeme Corp Moisturising Body Milk. I’ve not blogged about this before (I need to do more body products!) although I have used it before. Another wonderful texture, it’s a light lotion that sinks into my skin really easily. I do struggle with body lotions, I have a bit of a love/hate as many leave my skin feeling sweaty but I desperately need the hydration. Systeme Corp totally fits the bill and as it’s Decleor another gorgeous fresh scent. My skin feels comfortable and conditioned without the sticky horrible feeling.
In my (humble!) opinion this for me, has been the best TSV Decleor have ever done. Great staples and favourites with new innovation all for the bonkers price of £56.48. My only wish is I that I should have got 2!
