I created this manicure with OPI Give Me Space and Leighton Denny In The Spotlight. Give Me Space is a gorgeous blue glitter from OPI’s Christmas Starlight Collection. Under light you can also see the rainbow glitter particles which obviously you can’t see in this photo but what I really think makes this polish so special.
What went so well with Give Me Space, is Leighton Denny’s In The Spotlight that has large gold leaf pieces of glitter but also smaller holo pieces in a very light blue shimmer base. It brought out the deep blue and really made it shine. Once top coated both nails felt smooth so no snagging on fine fabrics, which is a bugbear of wearing glitter! In The Spotlight was part of a QVC TSV The Front Row Collection.
Removal was quite easy for Give Me Space, it was harder for In The Spotlight as it is a traditional glitter, however that isn’t something that bothers me as I am weirdly quite patient at polish removal (I don’t know how!!) if you get frustrated easily a good technique is the tinfoil technique. Forgive me if you do know about this, but for those who don’t:
- Cut up pieces of cotton wool to the size of your nail.
- Soak the pieces in polish remover and place over your nail.
- Wrap fingers in tinfoil ensuring the cotton wool is directly over your nails and leave for 5-10 minutes.
After this it should wipe off easily. It does sound like a faff, it is much easier than scrubbing though so the next time you wear heavy glitter give it a try!
Till next time,
