F.O.Y Fountain of Youth Skincare*

image

Hi beauties,

I was very kindly sent this lovely set of products from Lady CPR on behalf of Fountain of Youth for me to review.

Fountain of Youth skincare was originally developed to provide post operative treatments for patients undergoing surgery and non invasive procedures. The formulations were developed to allow patients to prolong their results of their treatments at home. The range now contains 8 salon skincare products created by professionals and tested by dermatologists.

The kit contained:
1. 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
2. Revitalising Eye Contour Gel
3. Moisturising Day Cream
4. Rejuvenating Night Cream

I first started with the Micellar Water, which I have to say is stunning. It removes makeup and grime so easily without your skin feeling dry. It has the most beautiful scent of rose and the ease of use that cleansing waters give are brilliant. This left my skin feeling lovely and soft.

My favourite product in the range is the Revitalising Eye Contour Gel, in my opinion it is as good as my beloved Gatineau Melatogenine Eye Concentrate. I don’t have puffiness so I can’t comment on that, but the way it hydrates my eyes and the lines I have is unbelievable. The result lasts all day, this product is a definite keeper, in fact I have kept on using it after the testing period as I love it that much. It’s also a huge 30ml size of which you need a tiny amount. Just amazing!

The Day and Night creams are lovely moisturisers, they are for normal to dry skin so a wee bit rich for me. Having said that, they are really nice textures more of a medium weight moisturiser. The fragrance of both is beautifully fresh making these I think totally unisex. My favourite of the two was the night formula (I don’t mind if I’m shiny at night) as I found the day a bit shiny for makeup.

I’m really impressed with this range, the eye gel is knockout in particular. I think they are hard working products and I did love the packaging too. I know I shouldn’t be impressed with packaging but they are functional and look smart on my bedside table. Do check out this range, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Till next time,

QVC Beauty Bash 2016

image

Hi beauties,

I was lucky to get tickets to the QVC Beauty Bash 2016 and I had the most incredible day. I went last year and it was great but I didn’t have the chance to see everything I wanted, it is brilliant to see what new brands are coming to the channel and also established brands new products and upcoming TSV’s.

My other half Andy agreed to come with me, he is my Sherpa guide in London as I am completely crap with the Tube and I get really stressed!! We got to London quite early so we could have lunch and then get in the queue in good time. It’s best to get there an hour before the session starts.

The Bash was held at a fantastic venue in the Old Billingsgate Market near the Tower of London. I wanted to make sure that we were early enough to get some treatments. We went straight to Elemis and booked Andy in for a back massage, I due to the problems with my back wasn’t able to have a massage and all the facials were booked up. So while Andy had his massage I looked at the new Superfood Facial oil from Elemis and their upcoming TSV’s. There are some great collections coming up and a product I can’t wait to get my hands on. Literally!

After Elemis, we went to see Caroline Archer at Liz Earle, I had tweeted her to say I would pop over and see her (we chat quite a lot on Twitter) and it was brilliant to catch up with her. I saw a sneak peak of the February TSV which has a new limited Edition Cleanse and Polish Rose and Cedrat (it smells beautiful!) Sarah was there too and we chatted for a while about what she has been up to since we last saw her and the upcoming TSV. I got to have a try of the new Rockrose hand cream that’s really gorgeous. Lavender & Basil is still my favourite though!

We saw one of the lovely ladies from This Works, who gave us some info on a new collection that was coming to Beauty Weekend, the Sleep Plus Spray and the new plumping moisturiser.

image

We then went to Adele at SBC who is another Twitter pal, I wanted to ask her about the new Arnica & Black Pepper formula. I stupidly forgot to put on my painkilling patches so Adele very kindly put some of the Arnica & Black Pepper lotion on my back for me and it really kept me going all afternoon! As we had waited in the queue for an hour I was in a lot of pain and it helped to get me comfortable so I was able to walk around and see everything I wanted to.

image

I got shade matched at Tarte for one of their foundations that I want to try, and looked at their new contouring palette that is gorgeous! I also saw the upcoming TSV I am really tempted with, I’ve only tried one product from Tarte and I would love to try some more.

image

We went to see the lovely Fiona at Decleor as I wanted some advice about my regime, I started to use a cleanser that was leaving my skin tight and then more oily throughout the day. Fiona recommended their balancing cleanser and toner which I ordered when I got home to try and sort out my skin. Fiona also showed me the new Hydra Floral Gel Cream that would be great for my skin type. I saw some of the TSV’s coming up, again they are brilliant I am tempted to more than one!

Andy wanted to have a look at the Philosophy stand as he is a big fan of their Cinnamon Buns shower cream, we had a look at some of the other stunning flavours, the margherita one smells gorgeous, and I asked Lee about some of the skincare.

I made sure we went to see Nikki at NIOD, I am a big fan of Deciem; the parent company of NIOD and some of the other brands in the range. I am extremely interested in trying the Copper Amino Isolate serum that sounds fantastic. I have seen the shows at the weekend and it sounds brilliant.

We stopped by Caudalie to speak to Tracy, I got to have a look at their Divine oil and I am a huge fan of their Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (I was very pleased to get both samples in my goodie bag!) I asked Tracy’s advice about their Overnight Detox oil that is for oily skin and as my skin is having an oily spotty hissy fit, this is one product I will be getting.

I had to see the Leighton Denny stand, they have a lovely TSV coming up on auto delivery. The value is nuts and there is nailcare as well as colour which is always useful. There is Best Defence Hand creams with different fruity fragrances too as well as my favourite can’t be without Renovate.

We also went to see Siobhain at OPI, who showed me all the new Hello Kitty polishes, so cute!! Julie was very busy doing manicures, I’ve seen a lot of photos of ladies who were happy with the gorgeous new colours to wear. The glitter polishes caught my eye, I can’t resist a bit of bling!

I am sure I have left things out, it was such a busy session but I had a brilliant time. Even Andy said he enjoyed it so hopefully I will get to go again next year. A huge thank you to QVC for a fantastic day and a excellent goody bag. There were some cracking products in the bags so I am very excited to be trying them out and reviewing.

The biggest thank you has to go to Andy though for not only coming with me and making it a great day but also taking the gorgeous pictures for this post.

Manicure of the Day 12/12/15

image

Hello lovelies,

This manicure was created using my favourite nude shade Nails Inc Westbourne Park Road and the Kensington Church Street Snowflake polishes.

Westbourne Park Road is a fabulous colour, until a couple of years ago I didn’t wear nudes all. As my skin is so pale I always thought they didn’t suit me. It was only when I tried another Nails Inc classic Porchester Square that the bug caught me!

Kensington Church Street is an amazing glitter that really does look like snowflakes. It has the smallest glitter particles that twinkle so gently. You have to see it in real life, it’s so cute. This was my favourite manicure I’ve done over the festive season and in a way I wish I had saved it for Christmas day! So pretty and enjoyable to wear.

Elemis Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil*

image

Hello beauties,

I had heard that Elemis were bringing out a new cleanser so when I got a sample of the Nourishing Omega Rich Cleansing Oil n my QVC Beauty Bash Goody bag I was so excited!

I’ve really been converted to oil/balm cleansing and prefer an oil as they are usually in pump bottles which are great for convenience. Balms in pots I do like (especially the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm click here to read review) but it’s a bit annoying to have balm stuck underneath my nails.

Anyway, back to the oil. The ingredients listing state: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Polysorbate 85, Sorbitan Oleate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Limonene, Tocopherol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Salvia Hispanica (Chia) Seed Oil, Camellia Japonica (Rose of Winter) Seed Oil, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Geraniol, Fragrance (Parfum), Citral, Linalool, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Ascorbic acid.

It contains some gorgeous softening oils and it is so easy to use. Simply apply a few drops in your palm and apply to dry skin, add water to create a milk and then rinse off.  My skin felt amazing afterwards, I’ve been suffering with some breakouts and some dry patches since I reacted to a product and even just one use of this beautiful cleanser has helped to soothe my skin.

It is launching on QVCUK in the February TSV, so look out for it. In my opinion it is better than Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm, for me it’s the ease of use, I can use it at the sink or used as a face wash in the shower. Another winner from Elemis!

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

image

Hello beauties,

I have a gorgeous exfoliator to tell you about today which is Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel. It came as part of a set I had for Christmas from QVC, I will be reviewing the other products separately.

Papaya Enzyme Peel is a beautiful cream exfoliator with no grains, it has a moisturising milk protein base with vitamin e and algae extracts to hydrate your skin while enzymes from papaya and pineapple nibble away dead skin.

This is a joy to use, the scent is tropical and really glorious so it isn’t a chore to use. It takes about 8-10 minutes to work and then you rinse off. My skin feels so smooth and looks clarified. I find it is very effective more so than my usual Gatineau gommage. It doesn’t feel irritating and my skin is nice and clear, not red and uncomfortable side effects that physical scrubs cause.

I would definitely recommend this product, another gem from Elemis that doesn’t disappoint. Papaya Enzyme Peel is available for £32.00 from Elemis.com

Josie Maran Argan Love Lipsticks

image

Hello lovely people,

Some make up for a change and these two Josie Maran Argan Love Lipsticks are really beautiful. If you don’t know of Josie Maran, she is an American model who on a photo shoot discovered the secret of argan oil and decided to set up her own business around that product.

I have not tried any of Josie’s products before but I saw these lipsticks and they intrigued me! I have not seen a lippie like that before and always looking for moisturising formulas (my lips are always dry) I wanted to get them. That and the colours are so pretty. The shell around the pigment is a moisturising argan base making these incredibly comfortable to wear.

image

The shade on the left is called Tickled Pink, which I wasn’t sure would suit me but its a gorgeous daytime colour, the shade on the left is my favourite of the two Joyful Rose. As they are a moisturising formula you do have to top them up but in this case I don’t mind doing that as they are so beautiful to wear. I’m very impressed with these and they have been my go to lip colours since I got them a couple of months ago. These were £24.00 and I got them from QVCUK.com. I look forward to trying some other products from the range.

Decleor Hydra Floral

Hi beauties,

I have a beautiful Decleor moisturiser which I have recently tried Decleor Hydra Floral Light. Hydra Floral is one of Decleor’s most famous products and I can honestly say an absolute joy to use.

I find it moisturises extremely well, I always use a serum or oil underneath (Decleor Neroli is a fantastic serum to use before) the fragrance of neroli is stunning and soothing for face and senses. It provides 24 hour moisturisation and provides protection from free radicals in the environment. It is a plant based moisturiser with no parabens, petrolatum and all those nasties that I don’t want to use on my skin.

Hydra Floral sinks in so easily for my oily skin type, the neroli has balancing properties so if your skin is feeling a bit confused with both dry and oily patches this is perfect. I have been so impressed with the results from this moisturiser, it really is a step up from other high street offerings I’ve tried in the past. It makes my skin soft, smooth and hydrated all day. The only bad thing for me is the price (although it is totally worth it!) unfortunately £39.50 price point is not something I can continue with at the moment. However, like I say, it is a fair price for a salon brand and such a great formulation.

Decleor also do a Hydra Floral Rich formula for drier or more mature skin types, I haven’t tried this one as I think it would be too rich for me, but very good for others with different skin types. The Light version is beautiful moisturiser that I would adore to use all the time.

Decleor Hydra Floral is £39.50 for a 50ml jar and available from decleor.co.uk.
