Manicure of the Day 23/11/15

Hi lovelies,

I loved this manicure! I love my purples and at the moment I can’t resist a bit of glitz and glamour that shimmers bring. These colours are Barry M Sparkling Amethyst and Leighton Denny Moonlight Sparkle.

Sparkling Amethyst is a limited edition shade that is really beautiful, fushia, dark blue and purple glitters make up this colour and it really does shine. It is one of those that you can appreciate in the shade as well as bright light. The new brush is awesome, cuticle shaped so extremely easy to use and it minimises mistakes

Leighton Denny Moonlight Sparkle was a shade I wasn’t sure of when I first tried it, but having paired it with Sparkling Amethyst it has won me over! You definitely have to see this in the sunlight as it is amazing. It’s a light silvery purple which you could wear all year round. I am sure it won’t be the only time I will use it!

I very much like this combination, I loved actually painting and wearing them. I had a lot of comments when I was out and about in town and on my Instagram page.

What do you think of this manicure? Are they colours you would wear? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Till next time,

Elemis Tri Enzyme Facial Wash

Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash

Hello beauties,

I wanted to introduce Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash to the blog as it is a product that I have used on and off for about 5 years now. It is unique in that it is not a cleanser but a facial wash that helps to resurface and perfect the texture of your skin.

I have oily skin on my face (very dry everywhere else bizarrely!) and I have always looked for products that would help improve this, I have found this great for very gently exfoliating with no redness or discomfort at all. I also used to have lumps and bumps under my skin that never turned into spots but didn’t go anywhere despite using clay masks and all the stripping skincare aimed at my skin type.

Tri Enzyme Resurfacing wash contains a patented enzyme technology for safe resurfacing of the upper layers of your skin with no abrasion. So it doesn’t contain any grains, it is a smooth liquid texture that is quick and easy to use.

The powerful anti-oxidant properties of Moringa (which Elemis also use in their Bliss Capsules and Pro Radiance Cream Cleanser) help to protect skin against environmental damage, and White Truffle helps to soothe and support the microflora of the skin. Brazilian Babassu Oil, rich in fatty acids, replenishes moisture levels.

I really enjoy using this as my skin feels like glass afterwards and looks so much brighter. I use this in the morning and then as a second cleanse in the evening, so make sure you remove all SPF and makeup before using this to get the best from the product. I love products that are in pumps as they are so much easier to use! One pump is all you need per cleanse.

Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash 400ml is £43.02 and available from

Acuregen Lavender Body Oil*

Hello lovely people,

As regular readers know I LOVE oils! Facial or body oils it doesn’t matter I am not fussy, so if you want to get me a gift you can’t go wrong with an oil.

Acuregen is a company set up by Amanda Shayle, who is an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Amanda and her colleagues train acupuncturists in the practice of cosmetic acupunture and there is also a skincare line.

Acuregen Lavender Body Oil is a stunning oil, I adore lavender so I was so excited when I received this as I knew I would love it. The oil is a beautiful, light and silky oil which sinks in to your skin so easily. I use it on damp skin so it goes a bit further and makes it go in very quickly. It is a grapeseed oil base and  it moisturises deeply into my skin, perfect for me as I have eczema and I don’t like to use steroid creams or petrolatum based products. You only need a couple of pumps at the most as with natural oil based a little goes a long way.

The scent is really beautiful, as I’ve said before I love lavender so I fell in love with this very quickly! It makes my skin feel amazing and the smell helps me to relax, something that I find very hard to do.

There are two sizes you can choose from, 15ml is £16.99 and 100ml is £32.99 as well as two other fragrances, Rose and Jasmine. All oils are available from

Liz Earle Christmas Tsv

Hello lovelies

This blockbuster collection Liz 6 piece The Best Botanical Beauty Collection was a TSV on QVC a little while ago (I am a wee bit late writing this one up!!) it was such fantastic value I had to treat myself.

The kit was under £50 but worth £110 all for products that I love to use. I will start off with the cleanse, tone, moisturise system.

Cleanse & Polish is one of my favourite cleansers (click here to read) it is such a thorough cleanser that takes off all makeup and grime and the cotton muslin cloth gently exfoliates your skin making it clean and bright. It comes in the limited edition 200ml pump in the Christmas canister that would make a lovely gift, if you could bear to give it away!

Instant Boost Skin Tonic I’ve reviewed before (click here to read) is a glorious smelling hydrating toner which is a joy to use. I keep mine in a spritzer bottle making it it even easier to use, a quick spray and it’s done!

Skin Repair Moisturiser is another reviewed favourite (click here to read) it is a beautiful moisturiser that you can use day and night. It is one I go back to, I generally use Normal/Combination although I have used all 3 variants. It is a gorgeous hydrating formula with the most beautiful scent of sandalwood, I hate to call it a basic moisturiser as I love the formula, but it is a great one to start off with.

Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion is a product that you don’t know you need until you’ve tried it! I always wake up with sore eyes and after a few hours on the computer it is most welcome too. It is an eye tonic that gently cleanses (it will take off very light eye makeup but for anything more use C&P) and refreshes your eyes. It’s so cooling and soothing, it is lifesaver for me.

Next are the body products, Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash in a huge 500ml size. I’ve reviewed it (click here to read) a stunning shower gel with a beautiful uplifting fragrance. The only product I don’t think I’ve reviewed already is Nourishing Botanical Body Cream. Even though I have dry skin, I don’t really like body lotions as I find them suffocating on my skin. This lotion is different as it is so light yet with an extremely nourishing formula and doesn’t take much rubbing in. The scent is like Instant Boost Skin Tonic which is rose geranium based, gorgeous! I have also used it as a hand cream and it’s really lovely.

The beauty bonus was a sample of the new Botanical Essence No20, another new category in fragrance which is a “floriental”. It is a spicy floral with a heart of Damask Rose, it is stunning and I have asked Father Christmas for a full sized bottle. I hope to find it in my stocking!

This collection has provided me with a very early Christmas present, filled with all the staples a Liz Earle fiend like me loves. If you haven’t tried the range before, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I really enjoy using every one.

Dr Organic Hemp Oil Intensive Hand & Nail Treatment and Dr Organic Morrocan Argan Oil Hand & Nail Balm

These two hand creams I’ve been using every day for the last couple of months. I’m addicted to hand creams and can never have too many so I know what makes a good one.

Dr Organic definitely makes good hand creams! The Hemp Oil cream is rich in essential fatty acids and Omega 3,6,9. It is a cream texture which has a light fresh scent with essential oils of eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint, patchouli, geranium, vetiver, lemon peel, may chang and lavender. It is excellent for use during the day as it is non greasy and provides 24hour lock moisturisation.

The Morrocan  Argan Oil Balm is a slightly thicker texture and suitable for the most driest of hands. It has a proven 12hour moisturising formula, it is the richest of the two.
The fragrance is more woody and spicy (my favourite kind!) with essential oils that includes clove, geranium, cinnamon, rosewood, wild mint, mandarin, vanilla and spearmint. It might sound like an odd combination but for me it really works.

What I love about these two creams are they really do work. The claims on the packaging are not outlandish as you do feel a difference after using them. I wash my hands a lot and do change nail polish regularly so my hands do get dry. These are excellent value and 100ml tubes will last a good while.

If you are looking for a good performing, non greasy hand cream that you can use multiple times a day without overloading your skin and also at a fantastic price either of these are brilliant. I can’t pick a favourite!

Dr Organic Hemp Oil Intensive Hand and Nail Treatment is £5.99 and Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hand and Nail Balm is £7.49 both available from Holland & Barrett

Manicure of the Day 09/11/15

Hello lovelies,

This manicure was created with Leighton Denny Miss Behavin’ and Nails Inc Snow Hill. I love dark inky blue polishes and this one has a beautiful shimmer that has a real depth to it. Miss Behavin’ has a great formula, very easy to paint and lasts a long time on me. I’m a huge fan of Leighton Denny for quality.

Snow Hill is a gorgeous white and silver topper which looks like snowflakes, it always makes me wish for snow! Perfect for winter and it also works extremely well over pale polishes which creates a whole different wintry look.

This is a manicure I would definitely recreate, I love it and think it looks so pretty!
