I’ve been blogging for 6 months now, how did that happen?? I can’t believe it has been that long, the time has gone ridiculously quickly.
Over that time I’ve seen views and readers go up every month and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those who have read posts, send me the most loveliest comments and all of you who have shared tweets and promoted my little blog. It is so gratifying that even one person chooses to read let alone the hundreds of you!
It does mean so much to me, I don’t think I can actually explain articulately quite how much. The blog is a real life line for me, not just a hobby. I’ve met some truly lovely people because I’ve started writing about what I’m really passionate about and every day allows me to interact with you all from my home.
So, again: thank you. The last 6 months have been so enjoyable and it’s all because of you.
Lots of love,
Another Gatineau product I want to talk about is the Melatogenine Refreshing Cleansing Cream. I am a huge fan of the Melatogenine sub range in Gatineau, the eye cream (click here to read review) and the Futur Plus mask (click here to read review) are really fantastic so I was pleased to get a sample size in my goody bag from the QVC Beauty Bash.
As the name suggests, it is a cream texture, however when you add water it turns into a lovely mousse. Melatogenine Refreshing Cleansing cream is a 3 in 1 cleanser, is very effective at removing makeup as well as all the other daily grime, it tones and micro exfoliates. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth. I like all in one cleansers as they are efficient and quick, so no excuse for not cleansing your skin properly!
It’s good at taking of a face full of makeup, but I do like it for my second evening cleanse. The smell is beautiful so it’s lovely to use and as I don’t need to use a toner afterwards I use it when I am really tired and need my routine to be as quick as possible. It certainly makes your skin feel refreshed afterwards, but you do have to use a lot of water to mousse it up. The first time I used it my skin felt tight because I had used too much and not applied enough water to dilute it. Once you get used to that, then there’s no problem.
I will definitely replace this cleanser once this size has run out, I get good results from it and cream textures are pretty much my cleansers of choice. Another Gatineau product that works so well. I would recommend this if you want something quick and easy but also has skincare benefits.
*This product was included in my goody bag from the QVC Beauty Bash*
Till next time,
I can’t remember where I first saw this but I do remember thinking I have to try that! So I was very chuffed to see it in my October Blogger Beauty Box.
John Gosnell’s The Original Vitamin E cream is beautiful, it is a gorgeous light textured cream however it packs an excellent hydration punch. It is supposed to be used as a day cream but I have been using it at night as well. I have been waking up with comfortable, hydrated skin and you only need a tiny amount. It contains Wheatgerm oil, Shea butter and Olive oil known for their high Vitamin E content.
The smell is really beautiful, if you have tried The Body Shop’s Vitamin E range (from memory) it smells like that. I really like the traditional packaging too, it is smart and functional and looks great on your dressing table. What is also great about this product is the price, it is £10.00 for a 50ml pot which is so affordable.
I was so impressed with this cream, it is a good basic moisturiser (I don’t mean that in unflattering way!) that really does do what it says on the packaging. I don’t have the hugest of beauty budgets so I do love coming across great afforable products. Yes there are £50 moisturisers that I love, but it’s rare occasions that I can get them. It doesn’t make any wacky unbelievable claims, it says it hydrates and nourishes without being greasy and that is certainly very true.
John Gosnell’s The Original Vitamin E Cream is available from http://www.originalvitaminecream.com and is £10.00.
Till next time,
So getting back into the swing of my manicure posts after a little break. I love grey, I find it an easy colour to wear it being a neutral (although very rarely do I match nail colour to what I am wearing!) and it’s perfect for this time of year.
I matched the lighter Barry M Chai with the darker toned Nails Inc The Thames, both polishes that I do get a lot of wear out of. I think you all know of my love of creme shades for the beautiful gloss finish, this manicure was rather popular on my Instagram page! Both formulas are very easy to use, a good consistency and also they last. I got a good 5 day wear from this manicure which is a long time for me as I do get bored so easily and change my colour regularly. I have enjoyed using the Summer brights, but I am very glad it’s the time of year to go darker.
Hope you liked this manicure, I will be bringing some more now I’ve finished testing some treatments.
Till next time,
Hello lovely people,
I’ve got a really interesting product for you today from a fabulous salon brand, Gatineau. It may not be a brand you have heard of before, they have been available on QVC for many years now and are famous for a rather amazing mask (Click here to read) that I reviewed in a previous post.
This however, is a serum and the Rolls Royce of their serums from all the sub ranges within Gatineau. Age Benefit is the range that deals with all aspects of ageing: dehydration, lines, wrinkles, slackened skin, lack of radiance and hyperpigmentation. I am a huge fan of serums, I think after cleansers serums/oils are my favourite skincare items and I love to experiment. I suffer with dark spots on my face which drives me mad, so this was the primary reason for trying this.
The texture is very light and silky, it sinks in so quickly into your skin. I didn’t notice anything straight away and I put my moisturiser over the top. Over a few nights I noticed that my skin felt so much more hydrated and felt a lot firmer. I don’t have many lines and wrinkles so I can’t comment on how it works in that way, but for rehydration and firming it is really good. I found I was using less moisturiser , my skin looked brighter and was plumped up. I used it nightly for 3 months as I had the 30ml super size, but unfortunately it made no difference to my pigmentation at all. As this is so expensive (it is £150 full price, but I managed to find it for £30 instead) I can’t justify repurchasing just for the rehydrating properties. There are other great serums on the market for that at a fraction of the price that do a good job so as much as I did enjoy using it (the scent is divine!) I won’t be getting this again.
However, that is not to say it is a bad serum, far from it, it just didn’t live quite live up to the hype for dark spots. As that is my main concern and the reason for me wanting to try it I was disappointed. I do really like Gatineau as a brand and will still try other products so it hasn’t put me off the brand, they do have some gorgeous things in their range. They are definitely worth checking out! Gatineau Age Benefit Night Elixir 30ml is £150.00 from http://www.qvcuk.com.
Till next time,
This is the first beauty box I’ve ever purchased, yes I know where have I been?! But what swayed me to try this was it was put together by a blogger the lovely Vix at VixMeldrew.com. It’s also the most affordable box at £10.00 including postage for 5 products worth over £100.00.
I was so pleased with this as there are 2 products I’ve had my eye on, so it was very exciting when I opened the box. A good range of products in there too, it’s 4 skincare and I makeup item. I will be doing a in depth review on each so will just list what was in my box.
The first product I picked up was the Puriskin Core Performance Therapy Resurfacing Formula for face and body by Vanessa Blake Cosmetics.
The second product is one I have had my eye on recently, John Gosnell’s The Original Vitamin E Cream.
Next was another item I have wanted to try, Elizabeth Grant Supreme Essence of Torricelumn.
Number four, was P&G’s Facial Cleansing Oil, I am a huge fan of oils so was excited to try this.
The last product was a lovely blush from Xenca Cosmetics in the Rose shade.
I am so chuffed with this box, great skincare to try and a beautiful powder blush to add to my other collection. Such brilliant value for £10.00, I hope I can snap up the November box.
Till next time,
This is a product that I really cannot live without, a true essential in my manicure routine. I am sure you would have heard of Seche Vite as it has quite the reputation for being the quickest and glossiest top coat.
It is a thicker top coat than I had ever used it before and to be honest, that took a bit of getting used to. However, once you know how much you need to apply it is easy to use. Seche Vite penetrates through nail lacquer right down to the base coat, drying each layer and leaves a solid coating over your nails. It is very cooling on the nail so you can feel it working, it dries solidly in just a few minutes. Make sure you have a small bead on the end of your brush and swipe it over wet nail lacquer.
(Nails Inc Alexa Edit Night Sky and Piccadilly Place)
I find that it makes my nails stronger and the gloss is fantastic!! I was gobsmacked when I first used it as it really leaves such a beautiful finish, especially on creme shades. I rarely find it peels or chips, I do always seal the tips of my nails to make the manicure more durable. I love the results so much that I wouldn’t use another top coat (and I am fickle, I like to experiment and try new things!!) so for me that is a huge compliment. Another product that I would heartily recommend. Seche Vite is £9.00 and available from http://www.boots.com.
